I do enjoy a good packing game. This was a bit tough since some of the items wouldn't fit in the box so I tried pushing them back on the conveyer but it wouldn't let me. It kept popping forward. And I felt so bad for wasting space because the item I had just wouldn't fit in the box I had. Long cats are long! Having a space to stash an item for packing in later boxes would be useful, kind of like in Tetris where you can store a piece till you need it. Otherwise it was a lot of fun and I could see playing something like this, especially as a phone game when waiting in line or something.

Quite fun! The difficulty curve was really nice, it sped up at a very good rate and the addition of new objects when the game got harder was smart. The graphics are nice and cute too. A few items were a little wide and had trouble fitting in certain boxes at specific angles and had to be positioned at *just* the right spot but it wasn't too bad.

Current personal best is 695 points, might try for 1000 later.

Nice simulator of a manufacturing worker) Very cute visual!

Haha I love it! I wanted to make something similar to this mechanic. I actually like yours more because you seem to use the precise collision so you can really fit stuff tightly together. I also like the random items haha like the dog and the bee haha

I like the idea of this game. I guess it just really needed the music/sounds that it is missing. It would also be cool if the game or some text somewhere saying how the points system work. I was thinking to myself about how the boxes work, and if there was any negatives to just shipping a box. But now I get it after experimenting abit. I guess the other thing is trying to place it pin-point perfect on the box was slightly annoying. All in all, great submission!

I shipped the CAT!

I liked this game! It was pretty hard to pack everything (I kept trying to fit it all in one box) but I really enjoyed it! I think it may have been nice to deduct points instead of insta-lose if you miss an item, but all in all really fun!

Fit perfectly with the theme, the controls are simple and it's very good but I cannot fit the cat it is very big ahah ! Nice little game !

blue-pin-studio 2023-10-04 11:28

Awesome! Managed to get 595. I dont really have any feedback for the game, it was well made. Perhaps displaying the controls on the screen would've been good, i had to scroll down to see how to ship the box :)

Got to 310 after a few tries. It's pretty easy to overestimate what you can pack, which leads to a quick game over, which is pretty fun as a mechanic. A small annoyance is that some items don't fit in certain boxes, even when alone, but that's manageable if kept in mind.

Took me a minute to get the hang of it, but after that it was pretty fun. Nice job.

This was cute. I loved the art sytle, fits with the whole game jam. funny enough, when we were brainstorming concepts for this gamejam, the idea of packing stuff in boxes in a warehouse like this came up. It didnt end up being the idea we went with, but its cool to see what could have been. I enjoyed this game

The game concept is great. The conveyor belt mode adds more challenge to the packing gameplay. One tricky aspect is that the perceived size of items doesn't always match the actual space in the boxes. It can be frustrating when something looks like it fits, but it doesn't. Adding grid markings would probably be helpful. The hand-drawn style is also adorable.

rusty2117 2023-10-06 20:29

Nice game. Simple yet challenging, not being allowed to let items pass makes the limited space more difficult.

spooncats 2023-10-07 16:41

Fun idea! I wish the boxes were a bit bigger in general since it was hard to get more than one or two items per box which was a little unsatisfying. It also felt like there was no reason to try super hard to pack stuff together since there's no penalty for summoning new boxes

I managed to score 705 after a few try. This is a bit stressful for me but in a good way!

I wish I could rotate the item more freely to any angles sometimes, maybe using the mouse wheel.

Very cool hand drawn items!

artofmacks 2023-10-09 03:47

Fun idea and it works well, I think the box could be a little bigger cuz most of the time you can just pack 1 or 2 objects per box even rotating, but great work!

paulsams 2023-10-09 21:20

Cool presentation of the theme, although it wasn’t particularly pleasant to aim at the right pixels, of course. But it was a great try and I was able to enjoy this game).

Really nice and compelling game, really loved it! The mechanic is really simple, but so effective that you want to keep playing each time you lose :D Some of the items were maybe a little too tight to fix in the boxes (you really need to be precise, or fit a single item per box), plus there are items that fit only in one specific size of box, but I guess that's part of the game (and contributes to what makes it challenging and compelling). Nice done!

rolly 2023-10-15 16:59

Fun game, even though it is sometimes a bit difficult to find the exact correct position (looking at you coat-hanger in the long box).

You got me laughing when the first cat appeared on the belt :p

Visuals are quite good, it would have been awesome with a cool music track ;)

Nice entry!

This was pretty engaging! The artwork was really appealing! Everything was colorful and silly, and that added a lot to the experience. I expected the items to "auto fit" into the box, but allowing me to drag it anywhere gave me a lot of control (and probably made the game more interesting -- but I won't know for sure without trying the other way). Some sound effects, especially for user interactions (picking up and placing an item) would have really completed the experience.

One suggestion for improvement: I expected to be able to replace items on the conveyor belt after picking them up, especially where the first item going off the screen causes a loss. This means that I learned that a pillow could not fit in the box I currently had, and the only way to not lose would have been to send a pretty empty box. I suggest you give the players more opportunity, at least by allowing them to miss more items (maybe 3?), or by allowing them to keep putting items back on the conveyor belt at any point.

Quite fun! I liked the style. At first it's quite relaxing xD

roroto-sic 2023-10-19 13:22

what kind of monster put donuts next to cactus ???!!!! Me :)

I understand the lack of time to do music during jam but don't worry even without, its a very fun game that makes me want to beat my personal record!
