This was neat! The visuals, sound effects, and music all come together to make a very zen-like experience, which is a good thing when the puzzles are this intricate. And the level design is good, too - the puzzles take a bit of figuring out, but they're not dauntingly complicated. (Until the B-sides, but I didn't finish the B-sides. :P)

I beat the B-sides! I was getting worried with all the shapes on the last puzzle, but it was alright =) Very nice puzzler. The jumping could have felt better, the music could have looped better (look who's talking, music went really bad for me this time). Very calm and nice vibe of the game while puzzling. Really well designed and well made. Great job!

I want C-Sides!!! Great game had a lot of fun and well executed mechanics!

Good game

Wooow, this is incredible Such a cool idea and implementation, this art style, music and the athmosphere in the game is just right

I had a big brain moment, where I had no use for the edit mode on one point due to how I placed some blocks before. This felt reaally good :D I also really like that you don't reset the world on character respawn, this would ruin the flow for me for sure.

Please make a full game out of it, I would play the hell out of it!

Great Work! I personally love the music. And the mechanics are really fun.

Very solid game! I made it to B-sides, it started out easy, but it got challenging pretty fast haha. The sound design was very good and the music was amazing. The game was all round very nice!

Liked the game! It has a nice, calm and soothing atmosphere and interesting puzzles. Sometimes I would die at the platforming section after solving a puzzle, which was a bit annoying, but it's a great submission anyway.

Cool game. The edge detection is a little unforgiving, but the controls are solid, nice graphics and great sound. Also, bonus points for the checkpoints! Excellent work!

What a fantastic puzzle game you've made! It gets a lot of mileage out of one mechanic (i guess two if you count jumping it's codependent with the platform building) The pacing was very gentle and the game was satisfying to beat. The b-sides was a very nice addition for people who want more. Shame I can't vote on mood, this game certainly has one. Well done!

really cute and fun game! enjoyed the gameplay and the music & audio 😌

poshaus 2023-10-05 01:22

Loved the ambient and the gameplay really well done.

This is how you do it. Controls feel great, mechanics all work, clever puzzle design. Really like how the difficulty is pretty chill and relaxed for the standard puzzles and the B-sides really make you think. I think this could easily become a full game and I would play it all.

Loved that game. Nice mood, graphics and sounds, and fun gameplay. Particularly enjoyed the B-side and making it to the end, love the nice chill puzzle-platform. Maybe more visual diversity would have improved it. Good job!

Very smooth gameplay and mood. Very enjoyable!

medow 2023-10-05 03:05

Very cool idea for a game and well executed! I really like the way the blocks visually rotate when you turn them. Well done

Super cute! Really relaxing vibe and the complexity scaled up pretty smoothly. I'm not a big puzzle-platformer kind of gamer, but I can definitely see this appealing to people into the genre, feels like a very natural puzzle mechanic.

Didn't get into the B-sides so maybe it's already in there, but would be really cool to see a puzzle that incorporates existing blocks from a previous puzzle or some stuff that's more mechanically taxing in terms of the platforming elements.

This game is a delightful experience with its cozy music and visually pleasing aesthetics. It excels in offering cleverly designed levels that keep players engaged and entertained.

Very cool game, well executed, finished the b-sides!

I think the jump lacks feedback (audio, particles) and the shadow needs to be disabled on the sky, but well done in the limited time!

I love the game's thumbnail and main menu art! The sound effects were very appropriate and soothing. When switching to construct mode, it switches to mouse controls and the icon at the bottom shows 'R' to rotate. (Extremely intuitive rotation diagram by the way). However since I was switched to mouse, I assumed 'R' meant right mouse button and it took me a second to realize I needed keyboard 'R'. I would prefer 'Q' and 'E' to allow rotating in the direction I wish. Then I also wouldn't need to move my hand from the platforming controls. I also initially assumed from the name "construct mode" that I was placing new tiles, but it turns out that I needed to move existing ones. I think if the pieces you need to pick up turned green or something, that would help. The falling sound effect is very cute. The "F" icon does not reappear after exiting Construct Mode so I mistakenly assumed that you can only make one movement per life.

The sound design was restrained and tasteful. However, I think the checkpoint and "enter construct mode" sounds stuck out a little too much. I really liked the sliding stone sound.

The last puzzle was pretty clever and I think there's a lot of potential for this game!

Should definitely have a mood rating on this one cause it has great mood. Nice vibes, cool mechanic, started a bit worryingly simple but thankfully the b-sides were there with way more depth and playing around with the puzzle ideas which I really liked.

Love the visual aesthetic, chill skycastle is a great place to put a game. Good stuff!

Very pretty main menu, beautiful graphics. Right from the screenshots the game reminds me of Hyperlight drifter. With the character animation and how the patterned blocks look, I don't know, there was that immediate connection. Don't know if you were inspired by that game. The graphics are a bit different of course, and the game does feel unique with its build mode and sky setting. I felt like graphics-wise the blocks looked much better than our character. Rotating animation on the block was also really nice.

I didn't realize right away I have to carve out blocks for a "bridge" from a platform I was standing on. It kinda happened accidentally even.

Loved the music, it might even be my favourite part of the game. It was very relaxing, and I enjoyed that slight tinkling. The sound effects were also satisfying.

The movement felt smooth and comfortable; even though I am an expert at falling down the chasm in literally any game, I didn't do that badly here ^^ Tbh constructing the bridges was more difficult than actually jumping, especially the last bridge in the main game. I actually ended up getting invested and went on until the game told me I am done :D
