LD54 — Limited Space

Cozy Caverns by Soda 2023-10-03T15:41:38Z

This was impressive for a first time! The game looks really pretty and the game runs perfectly. While it's nothing groundbreaking, would love to see more from you in the future with your concepts.

I'm surprised this has no rating yet with the cover image being is so pretty! The art in this game are great! The idea was really cool too, speeding up and slowing down things as both a blessing and a curse is great design!

I think the level design could have a little more time spent on. With such an intricate mechanic, the levels are too big and messy. The pacing of the game is also really slow, even when the objects around you are supposed to be fast. The first few music really fit the game, but the later music choices felt off.

This game has potential with some balancing. I'd love to see more of what you make in the future.

Space Trucks by digital bacon 2023-10-03T14:08:15Z

Nice game! It started off pretty slow and I just enjoyed the music and background. At some point I realised that I could let it fill up all the small cargo and only ship off big ones to scale faster. I scaled so fast I instantly died right away

Interested to see what kind of shapes of cargo and trucks you can design as it gets more complicated, rather than increasing reaction speed.

Claustrophobic Crates by Fatal-Exit 2023-10-03T15:09:41Z

This game goes hard! I think I need to rest my eyes now.

Pretty simple concept, executed well. The music, art and gameplay work well together, just that maybe the art could be simpler with all that screenshake.

The game ends at the perfect time, and adding collectables around the map to keep the player moving is great. Short and sweet. Well done!

Speedy Deliveries by sinus 2023-10-03T14:30:20Z

Fun and relaxing game. I was so confused on my first run with the controls, and after that I felt like it was too random. I'm glad I went on a second run though, it had more depth than I expected. The highest I got was 34. I think having less countries would help control the randomness better and reward players with more dopamine, especially when you have a tall stack of the same country to ship all at once.

I did have the problem of stacking over the screen and losing the ability to ship that stack, and the mouse control was a little unintuitive with the heavy background.

Great entry! Spent more time on this than I'd like to admit

In Search of Space by helluin 2023-10-04T12:12:37Z

Neat world building, art and sound design. It's immersive and easy to follow. The gameplay is alright, very simple and straightforward. Off the top of my head, the coal deposits could be more spread out, and tnt could allow you to make shortcuts to make the walk shorter.

This game is basically perfect! Great concept, great art, absolute banger music! You can tell everyone had a lot of fun making this game.

The only question now is how that whale got on the train :whale2:

Animal Teleporting by JamesW 2023-10-03T10:59:41Z

The puzzles and mechanics are really nice. It fits the theme really well, I keep finding myself banging into walls and wishing there were more space. The mechanics are fun and interesting, tho I die a little every time I have to deal with moving the deer.

Pros - Some levels are really well designed and satisfying to solve - Nice music and coherent visuals - 🦀Crab is the best animal🦀

Cons - Some levels are a little too big and cluttered. I like puzzles that are small, with a new twist to it. My favourite puzzles are when there are so little options that it looks impossible until it clicks. Bigger puzzles mean there's more steps to go through, so it can slow down pacing. - The UI to indicate what animals can walk on is too big. I think little icons would work. Seeing it every time I select an animal is weird. - Deer >:( 🦌🚌

Overall fun, mini puzzle game. Well done!

Be Water! My Cat! by NiceName 2023-10-03T15:25:35Z

I'm a simple man, I see cat, I click. The art definitely the best I've seen so far in this jam. I got it after a while, the control scheme is really weird. I think an in-game tutorial is necessary, unless figuring out the controls is supposed to be the game?

For those who got stuck and are reading this, you need to be holding up and either A/D, and then hold Q/E. Three key presses for an action. You also have to be holding A to press E, and holding D to press Q. I have to yet figure out what you're supposed to do in phase 2.

Cloud Runner by Cuddly Creeps 2023-10-03T14:43:39Z

Good job making it to submission! It's always hard to start, but game jams are great for learning and trying new things.

I got pretty far into the game but fell and had to start over without checkpoints. For the most part, the game seems to be mostly functional already, and just a few more steps would carry it to the end. In terms of planning, it's better to have the core done first rather than spreading too thin. A short, minute long game is a better experience than a long, unfinished one.

That said, the world and enemies were creative, and I had fun with the platforming and dusting enemies away. Hope you'll continue and make more games in the future!

FELL OUT by daveranan 2023-10-12T12:36:59Z

Holy the animations and dialogue are top notch! I love the style and humor, reminds me of A Short Hike. The blend of 2D and 3D art looks really nice and the boat dock respawn system is very neat.

I think there were only a few problems for me. Islands feel a little too far apart for a character that moves pretty slow. And minor nitpick, the water splashes of the boat stands out with the details. The jazz is so cool too, but its a bit too excited for too often for me, I'd enjoy a chill version when nothing's happening.

Other than that really good adventure game and really impressive for 72hrs. Really enjoyed this!
