Fun game. I'm awful at it though :). I kept misjudging the jumps.
Really nice ! Love the concept, really easy to catch and it fits the theme really well. It's fun to play and I'll definitely tell some friends to try and compete together ! Music works well, and I love the penguin's model :penguin:
The only improvement I could probably suggest would be to find a way to ensure that the player never gets fully out of icebergs. I once had only one visible iceberg and no other one came to me. It only happened once so it's really not a big deal.
Overall really fun game to play and right in the theme ! Good job
@ampo thanks for the feedback! throughout the entire project I tried to make it so that certain icebergs always move towards you, I guess it just doesn't work sometimes haha!
Hey, this game is awesome!! I really love the vibes. Its super tricky, but feels so satisfying once you get a good run goin and hear the music pick up. The penguin is adorbs too! My high score is 14 :sunglasses:
Awesome game! Love the water shader and the iceberg physics! Well done!
Simple, cute, but has its own elegance. The water sound effect is super calming and the music matches the vibe well. Love the concept! Ran into the same issue of no other iceberg in sight as Ampo mentioned a few times. Though it doesn't really hurt the experience haha I found having this uncertainty fun and challenging:)
Kowalski, Analysis. Analysis is good, fun game neat concept. Port it to mobile and I'd download it to my phone! Keep up the good work and congratulations on the game!
Nice little high score game, I love the aesthetic :)
I think maybe the ice could spawn more but melt faster to help avoid situations where you're just waiting on one and nothing is spawning? That happening was pretty rare though
The ice definitely should spawn more often, but when the RNG is good, it's really fun!
I like when the title screen just like a "pop up" in front of the game, idk if it's clear. Good game :D
Really enjoyed it!
I agree with the other comments about RNG, it could work better, but it's a really fun game and i enjoyed it a lot when i managed to get a good run !
Jump velocity is bound to walk velocity and it's a bit hard sometimes to judge jump distance when changing direction.
Good job !
super fun gameplay! The ice physics were awesome
the penguin is sooooo cute!!!! love so much!!!!
Awesome~ 'w'
TRICKY-- but thanks to your source release, I may edit the game so that I get 100 points when I fall in the water ;)
Good game!
Really great game! The slippery movement felt fitting to the game and the anxiety, when there weren't any icebergs close by was insane. Furhtermore the balancing was great it always felt like I messed up and it wasn't just bad luck. With a few more features this game could actually be a great success!
Haha so fun !! Good job ! Very good game ! Very funny, I love physics on ice !
There are ways to go further and add features, there is a little potential !
fun game! the ice generation does feel a bit inconsistent though - sometimes i can rack up 10 points in seconds
once you get a good run going it keeps you on the edge of your seat, very faithful to the theme
Hehe, penguin jumping =) me likey =)
I loved this idea so much. Really creative take on the theme of limited space! The physics of the slippery icebergs was super cool and I liked how the icebergs spawned in groups. Playing as a penguin was a big plus too:p
Nice arcadey game. Simple but done right. Only thing I would like to see changed is seeing how high up you are. Maybe having the penguin slightly shrink while moving up and then returning to normal while falling, plus adding a fake shadow would make it easier to judge where you are. This would help in making players feel like they made the mistake by jumping wrong instead of just being surprised when they plop into the water or hit the edge.
@binayas unless something went wrong there should have been a shadow there, I'll have to look into it so thank you for bringing it up!
this is a fun little game! I only made it up to a score of 9, but I could feel some strategies forming. Carrying momentum through from a moving iceberg in my jump definitely caught me off guard a few times. If you were to expand on this I would love to see powerups on icebergs, and some way to more clearly see the precise bounds of icebergs.
That was so much fun to play! I actually love how floaty the jump is cause it lets you laaaaunch yourself over big gaps with enough momentum. Super fun!
For me it was one of the most fun and at the same time simple games of the jam. The idea is fantastic. The sound is cool and the graphics are cool. It was well thought out that the iceberg started to melt (shrink) but sometimes I jump onto an iceberg and it takes me closer to no other and death is certain, but I know that controlling this randomness and transforming it into something better than that would mean much more coding time. It's quite fun really. Just an aesthetic factor, in the long run you can liven up the water, the effect of the water moving would be cool, but just for aesthetics. I liked the penguin sprite animations.
This game was a lot of fun! I really liked the art and the music, they were super *chill* (pun intended). I do wish that the game was a bit more consistent with spawning new icebergs, it felt like most of the time I died was because the game just wouldn't give me anywhere else to go, which was a bit frustrating. Nonetheless, I had good time playing! Nice job :)
Berjump_scr.png Nice game, easy controls, feels fair! I had fun.
Fun little game with a nice atmosphere I really liked the start UI it has a lot of style!
