interesting movement system
An interesting mechanic! I think if you'd had more time, this could have been super good, but for only a handful of hours made with Love, it was a surprising and good submission.
I like the turn based movement system, but your game is lacking visuals and audio in my opinion.
Interesting movement system, but works well. If you flesh this out more, it could turn into a really fun puzzle game!
It's crazy how intense a simple game like this can be, really shows you how far simplicity goes with good design. Overall a nice game, had tons of fun with it. Good Job!
Great idea and implementation. I would only allow the cards to be double-clicked instead of only drag-and-dropped, since we can only play one card at a time. I can definetly see this being used for educational purposes besides the fun. Very nice job overall!!
You could try hosting your game on itch.io. Embedding here on LD page is far from perfect, and you can't even make the game full screen to see it all at the same time, there is a scroll bar n the edge.

I think the concept has potential as a nice puzzle game. Some sfx would already add a lot to the experience. The core mechanics work well and can make for some interesting and tense situations. Maybe add some special cards, appearing less often, with interesting effects (buffs for the player, debuffs for enemies etc.).
In my playthrough, the red enemy practically wasn't moving. He was just there at the top line all the time, turning from left to right and going nowhere.
@fabula-rasa thank you for the feedback. As enemies just either rotate or go forwards each turn they can tend to get stuck if they make it to an edge. I may well use this as a base and expand/improve upon it.
I like the idea behind this - i can already think of multiple genres which could expand upon this. The controls could be improved a bit, i had trouble getting the cards into the rectangle. I had some trouble as cards often ended up being the same thing again and again - maybe adding some way of reducing the chance of getting the same card 4th time would be good?
overall, very nice game for just a couple of hours
Interesting ideas here for sure, could be great if built up from this. One quick improvement would be to remove the requirement to drag the cards to the rectangle - let me play them anywhere on the screen! Would speed things up a lot. Keep up the good work!
I like the idea of a deck-based movement system. I think that if this was expanded upon, this mechanic could be really interesting. Some more obstacles would also improve the experience. Well done!
Potential is there but obviously it is a bit lacking as is. For a couple of hours work, that's cool and makes want to see more. I had an issue the first play where I only had Fwd cards and couldn't do anything except running into the enemy, which was somehow pretty funny
I love these hand-drawn facial expressions. Although the game was a bit confusing at first, I eventually understood and completed it! You did a great job! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
While rough around the edges both in visuals and in sound, the game does have a really interesting mechanic! Combining a box pushing puzzle game with a deck builder is something I haven't really seen before and it really opens for a lot of strategies. Cool game!
Still a little bit rough, but with a bit more polishing I can see how this could be a lot of fun. Keep going!
Interesting concept! I think the plan of this game was more interesting and bigger, but time...but in general good job!
