Good work! The movement is a bit clunky, i feel, but it's a really good job overall! Congrats!

Good Job I enjoined your use of the theme

I love the theme usage! The movement feels too.. slippery? But overall it's a good game!

Very good entry! I really liked the graphics and you made fun use of the theme!

boodbarbak 2022-10-18 17:21

Quite hard! I got only to 77m ^^' Fun anyway. Controls feel a bit slippery. Arts, animations and sounds are great. Theme is here. I like the first part that serves as a tiny tutorial. Good job!

I notice you haven't received many ratings. Rate more games yourself and comment them. It should help :)

I got to 63m! It is not easy. Maybe it would be better to make it harder over time, e.g. slower "substance" in the beginning.

However I very much like your graphic style :-)

Well done!

A slippery game :) I dont like that you used W as a jumping button. That makes the control difficult. But I liked that you can jump out of the one side and come in from the otherside again. Also that you teach the player that in the beginning is great. You made so far the best use of the 10 Seconds rule I have seen so far! Its a live saver to use the double jump but also a valuable resource.

Good game and reminded me of Doodle jump for iOS a little :)

Made it to 259m. Controls feel a bit slippery, as others have mentioned, and the lava starts out a bit fast, leading to a bit of a hard start. Having the a dedicated jump button rather than up would also be nice, though with Arrow keys + W I was able to do a bit better though. Solid concept though, and the usage of the theme was pretty solid. Overall, not bad; Had fun.

can't go higher than 100m!

solid game, with some addictive mechanics! sound effect were nice (i mean hearing the footstep is super cool), and the double/triple jump with reload is a nice way to tweak the theme, congrats!

I had a lot of fun with this! Like others I also really liked the "tutorial at the beginning"

I couldn't get past 90m though. There was a lot of times I lost because things felt unfair.

I think the slipper movement adds an interesting dynamic, but it could be tuned down a little. I think the game would be better served by replacing the slippery movement with something like making it harder to move in the air then when on a platform. It feels like the game wants to be a precision platformer in the vein of old arcade platformers but ends up feeling frustrating to control.

It's also frustrating when a platform is just out of reach of a jump, which spacing of platforms might help?

The jump meter being at the top of the screen made it really hard to tell when I could use jumps at a glance. Placing it under the player would make that a lot easier.

It would also be nice to skip the tutorial on replay, to make restarting faster and keep players engaged.

Overall though I found myself wanting to play just one more time! It has a very fun gameloop and I feel like there is a really high skill ceiling while being really accessible, which I enjoy a lot.

Overall solid entry!

Made it to 298! This is a solid game in its simplicity. The jump feels good and the slipperiness of the player in the air is just enough to make it challenging and not be frustrating. The double jump mechanic was a pretty cool interpretation of the theme. The beginning of the stage flawlessy teaches the player the mechanics of the game, awesome job on that. The difficulty was balanced very well and sucked me into the game. All I'm missing is some more audio and a soundtrack. Great job!!

Cool game! It took me a moment and few tries to realize that sometimes jump and looping around the edge is better than trying to jump "normally". Made it to 86m and I will take it. The game mechanics are nice, but for me jumping is a bit floaty (or maybe it is intended to add to a challenge?). Beside that only thing missing is some up beat music :) Anyway, good job with the game!

benskca 2022-10-20 19:53

Made it to 298 also (I guess I died on the same jump as other people did )

Having the player wrap around to the other side of the screen made for some really fun platforming, I kept on forgetting i could do it at the start but it felt really satisfying taking the shortest route up using it once I got used to it. For me the controls felt really good, I like platformers with some weight to them so the momentum felt perfect. Great job, I had a lot of fun!

doot 2022-10-20 21:25

Nice! Made it to 328!

Gameplay is simple but well executed, the "safety jump" mechanic works well. I love how you designed a simple tutorial level at the beginning to explain the mechanics, it's quite well done.

Controls work nicely, the character is very slippery indeed but it gives a "old super mario" vibe that I liked.

Great job and thanks for the game!

solah 2022-10-21 06:29

That's a cool game! I think the jump is too floaty and we lack of air control. The graphics and sound design are good and the game is well designed. The double jump limitation is a great idea!

initialposition 2022-10-21 11:44

Nice and simple gameplay loop presented in an easy to grasp and pleasing to look at artstyle. Chasing the highscore is really fun and the double jumps are a good way to incentivize more risky play. Only complaint I have is that the jump feels a bit floaty and air control could be a bit tighter, otherwise this was really fun and well executed. Good job :D
