Ayy a fellow Godot user *:)* we got the game up and running pretty easily, the game could use a short tutorial to make it clear how to play and some less jarring sound effects ~ but good job!

Fun game! I don't why, but I found being attacked by wolves to be hilarious. Keep up the good work!

Really enjoyed playing it, there was a tremendous amount of content for such a short period and I was very impressed by how everything just kinda worked! I know its difficult to make strategy games like this in the best of times so kudos for doing so in this crunch! My biggest suggestion would be to simplify upgrading buildings. I didnt see an easier way and it became *very* tedious to upgrade the tremendous amount of buildings needed. Key shortcuts, bulk upgrading, something like that would do a tremendous amount of good.

Also I really liked how each level of building had the same background. It helped a lot to clarify what was what level and was just well done.

Otherwise I could actually see myself playing this, with some better sound and easing the tedium it could be great!

It took me a couple games to get the hang of it, so it might be helpful to add some sort of tutorial or guided start. (I was especially confused about how to get wood from the trees). Once I got the hang of it,I had a lot of fun! At around Year 17, I'm not exactly sure why, it stopped generating any new resources and my population just started sinking until it went to 0 (I had farms and guilds and marketplaces placed). But my walls and barracks kept things defended until Year 25!

Great work! Really love the retro feel of the graphics and sounds. And the gameplay definitely got me hooked :)

I have no idea what I was doing. Some more description would be nice, because your screenshot with that bigass city looks ipressive and I want to build something like that - but I really had no clue what was going on. After a while I could not build, the game started beeping and I lost :D So a quick tutorial or some more detailed description could help - apparently there is a lot more content in there than I actually could try out. Anyways, looks very impressive for a JAM entry!

@paloobi @borgi Thank you so much for the feedback! We added a tutorial to this page to hopefully help. We will likely add something a little more proper to the browser versions soon.

It's amazing how much you implemented in such little time! I had a lot of fun playing it once I got hang of everything. Might be worth adding a reset button for beginners. I think the audio needs a bit of work as well, the sounds can be really useful but sometimes are just a bit to much. I had to stop playing after a while but got to year 44 and felt I could have kept doing for a while! :D Great Job!

I was surprised by the use of destroy tool to gain resources lol Repeatedly played several times still feel fun, short time to make so much content game is amazing!

angrybeard 2022-10-05 14:05

realy cool idea and a great amount of interacting content for such a short time!

amythyst 2022-10-06 03:34

Neat idea, but not sure if I'm doing it right - were the trees supposed to disappear when I "destroyed" them? It didn't seem like the button was doing anything.

puyo 2022-10-06 03:36

Good content, use of theme. Consistent and excellent graphics. I thought the sounds were fine and fit the mood of the game. Well done!

shuimen 2022-10-06 03:36

I really like this type of game. It's really nice work to complete the game in short time!

suicidalmango 2022-10-06 03:54

@amythyst Destroying trees and rocks are only possible if you have a building next to it. Similar to building. We will be sure to clarify in the rules. Thank you for the feedback!

Nice little city builder but you really need to add the thing about you can't do any action or build any building if it's not adjacent in your game description I closed the game multiple time not wanting to give up on it until I got that point, it's was a fun experience managing and building everything a bit spammy but enjoyed my time in it +it needs a shortcut for upgrading buildings

Impressive how much content you were able to pack into a weekend. I thought the aesthetic was rather nice. Future improvements might include some in-game tutorials to help take the first initial steps toward success :) Overall nice entry!

Utopia in 79 years. After a few tries I got the hang of it, and then it was a cakewalk. I love the retro feeling, I like the town building, the sound effects get a bit grating after a while when you get attacked. The biggest problem is the upgrade system, it doesn't scale well(for food production especially). I ended up with giant tracts of tier one pastures surrounded by a double barrack wall. A one click tool (like demolish) for upgrades would've come in handy. Overall well done!

This was a cool idea and really impressive amount of implementation for just one weekend! But it went WAY too fast, so slightly rocky things about the interface could really easily snowball into disaster--for instance, I moved my camera away from the town hall and several seasons passed in the time it took me to figure out how to recenter. When I ran out of a resource, I wasn't sure what symbols corresponded to what resources in the interface, and time kept passing while I hunted around trying to figure out what it was.
