Simple, sweet, well executed. Well done.

I found it less than obvious if multiple blocks blocked the lava more effectively than just one. My conclusion is that you only needed one.

I also didn't realize the significance of the refresh button until later in the game; however, discovery really is part of the game, so maybe that was a feature?

It may have been interesting to add colored blocks to the mix with special effects somehow.

I enjoyed this game. Thanks for making and sharing it!

Really interesting concept, thanks for sharing! Really liked how you made it take longer to craft new blocks vs refreshing them, had to do an interesting balance of when to refresh and when to grab a shape.

I'm not sure if I understood the game, for each level I just refreshed the shapes until it was a star then put the stars in the slots.

Nice sharp looking game! I liked the refresh vs place decision making.

Nice Visuals with the game. I think you could really expand on the idea of this game.

Funny, easy, innovative. I like it.

Nice job! It ends up getting quite frantic, and I like how it encourages you to multitask. It's certainly an original idea.

pureimprov 2022-04-12 21:45

I like the idea! The visuals are very clean (:

The double-use of boxes as both the item that you need to advance as well as the item you need to protect yourself is great; it is a very simple mechanic and yet is able to drive the entire game forward pretty well. Tradeoffs and decision are the direct gameplay of the game. It's very fun.

It did take me a while to realize that the refresh button was actually faster than dragging boxes out. But, it's a pretty good mechanic as it means that every single box you drag out has an opportunity cost. I imagine in the right circumstances it would even be a better choice to sacrifice a star with very quickly advancing lava...

So overall, a very nice small game.

Cool game! It's a bit too random but there's also a strategic element for which blocks to use on lava in each direction. Although when they're getting too close I just throw anything that's big enough in their way.

Понравилось: - Оригинальная механика - Визуально приятная

Вызвало вопросы: - Однотипная тактика прохождения уровней, было бы неплохо добавить каких-то внешних факторов, которые бы разнообразили процесс

Спасибо за игру!

It turned out very cool! Great job! This is not a game, but a psychological thriller that pulls the nerves like the strings of a guitar. ha-ha

Cute game with nice complimentary sound effects. It wasn't immediately obvious what to do and I just kept throwing boxes in the lava until I got stars although the boxes didn't seem to slow it any more than it already was. I also didn't understand the refresh button until reading comments! Playing again after reading the comments was nice with having to balance using boxes and trying to get the stars. However, it might have been nice to maybe increase the speed of the lava when not touching a box to make the mechanic more obvious. Overall, really well put together and functions well so great job in the time frame!

Cute game with simple and engaging mechanic. Very like the low color visuals, looks pretty neat. The game has tension when you press the button to make a star to get out from the level - that's a good point. Good job!

Thank you for submitting it to my stream! Cute little game that would have really benefitted from some chill music but was fun nonetheless!

damakuno 2022-04-17 07:01

Pretty simple concept! Implemented really well for a compo game! I like how there's some decision making involved whether or not to choose to regenerate a piece, because it takes a shorter time to regenerate a piece as opposed to using it right away

rosypenguin 2022-04-17 07:03

Saw your game on Damakuno's stream and had to play it myself, it's a nice and simple concept that's easy to figure out but has enough complexity to draw me in to continue playing. I can see this working well on mobile devices. Great work!

Simple game with limited mechanics that create an engaging game, well done!
