Ha interesting take. I didnt realise the waste expelling was a... multi step process... at first. Also the colours for left/right leg are hard to distinguish.

Outside that though, super interesting idea. I love how juggling a few meters becomes a pretty engaging experience when it is presented the right way. Nice work!

loved the idea it's actually similar to my game, the mechanics are well-polished and everything is great, the slider was a bit unresponsive but good game after all.

The mac version doesn’t seem to be a file type that my mac recognizes – it just tries to open the downloaded file in a text editor. Usually, mac games should be a .app bundle (i.e. a folder with the extension “.app”, containing the executable and some supporting files in a certain folder structure), which itself would be compressed into a .zip file for players to download.

@dalep thank you for your feedback. I'll take down that old osx version and will try to find out if i can make it work. No promises for this time, but maybe I'll be able to learn what it takes to cross-compile for LD50.

I can’t believe I just spent 783 seconds balancing a digital flamingo. That's more then ten minutes. Well done with the game, it clearly did something right for me. It is well designed with simple mechanics and a fun art style. It took me a couple of losses to realize that I needed to click the fish to fill up the left bar, but beyond that the mechanics were very easy to figure out. There were a couple of fish that were much lower then the visible pond, I know there was at least one that I caught while clicking the eject button. Overall a well executed concept!

@smilewood awww, thank you! Since this is my first game jam entry ever and also my first game that i put out into the world and published your comment means a lot to me :). 783 seconds (13:05 minutes!) is even further than I made it. Maybe I'll try again.

Interesting idea. I really liked how expelling waste messed up your balance. It's a nice pun how you're performing a 'balancing act' to keep a thing 'balanced'.

I really wish I could make it full screen though... Mostly because I had kind of a tough time grabbing the slider. While it probably wouldn't fit the game to make it snap to where you clicked, it would be nice if the part you could grab was just a bit bigger.

@tattomoosa thank you for your feedback. sadly I messed up my code at the end of day 1 and decided to just fix my resolution to get away from my problems. I'll try to have a better plan on how to draw in windows for LD50.

This is probably the funniest game I've played so far! After a few attempts I realized the best way to keep balance was to shift slightly left and then crap to shift your weight forward, which is a hilarious concept on its own. I also like the flamingo facts whenever you lose. My only gripe is that spawn rates for fish are so low that i would run out of food and lose even though I never got an opportunity to eat any fish.

P.S. I love Fred's hat :)

concker-88 2021-10-05 01:31

I can't really explain it but I felt keeping my flamingo steady by expelling its poop like there's no tommorow...oddly satisfaying.

potkirland 2021-10-05 02:32

it s got the AHAHHAHA effect :D fun to play hard to master. good times overall

simpathey 2021-10-05 02:37

Awesome game! I got 28 seconds. In a post jam version I might add a tutorial.

ogelgames 2021-10-05 04:21

Who knew pooping needed such skills... xD Too me a few tries to realize how the gauge worked, but once I figured that out it was hilarious and fun!

ludokultur 2021-10-05 16:20

Funniest game I've seen in the jam so far. Holding down that eject button was just glorious. Thank you for sparking joy! :D

stoffe 2021-10-05 16:31

Fun game, really hard to master. Fits the theme perfectly!

mvasko2 2021-10-05 17:49

I am surprised to say that I may have found my favorite game so far

Turns out balancing a flamingo is a lot of fun! My personal record is 144 seconds.

The gameplay was balanced perfectly in my opinion. I really don't have anything to add. Maybe the ending screen could have looked better.

Great job!

skleembof 2021-10-05 19:07

Perfect jam game. Short, simple, fun, and hilarious. I didn't expect to have so much fun with it, and I learned some facts about Flamingos. Like the fact that they have a secret eject button somewhere on their bodies

bjakubowski 2021-10-06 00:09

Yeah, it is really great, I love it!

youk 2021-10-06 06:47

Hard but very to play.I got 20 seconds and maybe if I could at least switch left and right leg with the keyboard I could have a better score.

youk 2021-10-06 06:47

(Accidentally sent my comment twice, and I don't know how to delete. Sorry!)

jake-marks 2021-10-07 00:51

For as simple and silly as this is, it is really addicting and really well done. My only downfall was not enough fish to eat (I think you fixed that though! nice!). Very funny and creative!

A fun game. Damn you Fred, you would be steady if you didn't have the urge to poop. Your poop propulsion doesn't even compensate that much, stupid Fred.

So I'm bad at this. 30 seconds.

But it is a polished, complete game. For the graphism my only complaint is that font: maybe a pixelated font instead of Arial would have been better (and more coherent with the art style).

Yay flamingo facts.

lesinvisible 2021-10-10 00:07

Very fun game and preatty addictive as well, I liked the level of polish of this one. The only complaint, as was mentioned before, is the font, it could be more close to the overall game's style.

ruthiepee 2021-10-11 18:32

At first I was getting scores around 28 to 30 seconds, and I read one of the comments that said they went up to ten minutes. At first I was like, "WTF?!" Then I took it as a challenge. After a few minutes it does get sort of tedious and boring (hint: use the poop mechanic to maintain balance). But I played this game for way longer than I thought I would, so kudos for that. I also enjoyed the cute interface and the flamingo factoids.
