Really original concept, amazing level design to teach you all the little mechanics. Good pixelart, fitting sounds and music. I honestly fell in love with this game, I just wish it was longer!
Just a small bug I found: Sometimes when going to the next level, my character would make the first move on its own (nothing game breaking, as simply restarting the level fixed it).
Amazing job, congratulations!
@wahyu-candra thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the idea of killing all those skeletons in a row haha
@asdehielo wow that's amazing to hear thanks! yeah I noticed this bug but I did not have the time to fix it unfortunately :( gosh I wish I had more time to make more levels, but I began the jam a day and a half late (I hated the theme and had no ideas so I abandoned the idea of doing something and played Octopath Traveller with my gf and then a day and a half after an idea appeared in my mind haha)
Really cool idea for a puzzle game. It's not too hard but also not too easy. Also it's really satisfying when you kill a few enemies in a row.
@gargantus thanks! I wish I had the time to make some harder levels for the end of the game though glad you liked it
Hi! I usually find something "bad" to say about games I test post LudumDare. You know critics to help owner/s improve their game... But here, I have nothing to say, I meani it's game jam game, so perfection is not a word I'd use. But man.. Your game is AWESOME! There's everything a player needs :
- The objective is clear (+1 point) - The level design is great, every new mechanic is cleverly introduced to the player and yet it is always challenging (+10 points!) - The instruction are on screen, you can't miss it (+1 point) - Graphics are not the best point of the game (LD is!) but yet it is just what's necessary to feel polished! (+1 point)
Once again, thanks for this submission, I'm gald I could play this!
"The number of tiles you cover defines your attack power" What a cool game idea! A really good job in all aspects: graphics, music, sound effects, mechanics and puzzles. Congratulations!
@bionikmonster that's a very rewarding review, thanks a lot! Gamejam is sometimes exhausting even though it's real fun, and it feel really good to have such good feedback. :)
@zimny11 I'm glad you liked the mechanic! Thanks a lot for your review!
At first I thought it was a pure puzzle, but realizing my speed in split decisions was also important to gain momentum was a nice twist! It's a solid main mechanic. Also, is the music inspired by Twin Peaks??
@pyrofoux thanks! I’m glad you liked the gameplay mechanics! I did not make the music ‘cause I ran out of time, it’s an open source music I found online. I credited the creator on my itch page but I forgot to put it on the game itself. Yeah it kinda reminds me of Twin Peaks too now that you mentioned it haha
Love this thanks for the game. Props to the team
The design looks super cool but either I haven't understood the mechanics or I have a bug that I can't move up or down on the left side of the second map leaving me stuck to the wall forever.
@bqq ah shit my girlfriend has the same bug, I have no idea why some people have it when others don’t :( sorry you lost your time
@craplex thanks! Glad you liked it :)
@dotsquare no worries, the design I saw from 1.5 levels seems great already! hope you can find a fix! Feel free to tag me in case you upload a fix at some point :D
@bqq thanks, it’s a shame that bug stopped you from playing the next levels though, since they become a bit harder and you have a bit more freedom too I may try to fix the glitch if I have the time after work, I’ll tell you if that’s the case
I really like the idea. It's a new concept (to me at least) and that's great. Unfortunately it wasn't untuitive to me how to play. I didn't see a connection between walls and movement at first, so for me it just seemed like sometimes I could move down and sometimes not, and I didn't understand why because I didn't see any obstacles. That said, with a bit more polish I think this could be a very interesting puzzle game.
Short but fun game. You could probably improve on this further stretching it to more levels, more mechanics like teleports, traps, doors, switches, keys, timed traps, floors that can only be stepped once/twice/etc.
Very well done! The game looks finished and polished. Special thanks for the music, it is just wonderful! Like the way you did menu as well
@battlecat thanks for the feedback! If you were blocked at the second level because you could not go down, that’s actually a bug. You’re supposed to be able to move any direction any time. I have no idea why some people (like 5% maybe) have this bug and others don’t, it doesn’t make any sens :/ sorry for that
@nosfer yeah exactly what I think! Because it’s a jam I ran out of time but I wan to add new gameplay mechanics (after the jam end, when I’ll have the time), like portals and stuff like that haha! Thanks for the ideas :)
@iovorobiev thanks is a lot! I’m glad you enjoyed the game :)
Hello! Very nice looking game! Good idea for mechanics by using momentum to kill monsters! Btw, I also had the same problem as some others with not being able to move up or down in level two. I played in the mac version. I'm hoping that you'll fix it so I could play more!
Nice action/puzzle. Good level design. I played it through and I like it. Great Job!
@filgru gosh that’s a shame. I’ll try to fix that bug if I have time. If I do, I’ll tell you ;) I wish the bug happened later in the game, cause it happens real early and the game is a bit more fun and interesting once you passed the «tutorial levels »
@sli thanks a lot! that’s really cool if you finished it, I’m glad :)
I had a lot of fun with this. Great Job man. Not sure what extra tweaking the game needs. It looks fun and cool
Really cool idea! Would love to see it fleshed out a bit more.
@prof-suarez thanks so much! If I had more time I think maybe adding more particles (when you hit a wall, when you kill an enemy, etc) could have been a good idea, but a jam is a jam right, so no regrets
@bamallama thanks, I actually agree with you that it could be cool to add not only levels but also some game mechanics (like portals and shit) I feel like I’ll make a post-jam version of this one if I have the time, it could be fun!
Clever idea and pretty good implementation.
However, I don't know how far the mechanic can go. It's novel and fun but I'm afraid there are two competing contraints: the possible trajectories that depend on walls, bouncing balls, etc. and the enemies. It almost felt like enemies were actually guiding me to find the right trajectory to the exit. I'd be glad to be proven wrong, though.
@slowfrog-again thanks for your feedback. I know what you mean, but to me it could be possible to make more out of the overall concept with new mechanics such as portals, enemies that stops you when you kill them instead of letting you slide continuously, etc. Because of the LD constraints, I mostly made small and simple levels to teach the basics to the players and it would require more mechanics (and maybe bigger maps) to make more out of it
regarding the fact that the ennemies guide you to the right trajectory, I kinda did It on purpose (though it's also a natural outcome of the mechanics of the game), kinda like the coins and sometimes ennemies guide you in old Mario games, if you know what I mean. But I agree that it makes the game a bit too easy and one-dimensional because of that unfortunately
But yeah the game could definitely use more deepness and difficulty! I'll try to add that on a post-jam version of it
Very neat gameplay idea ! I need more levels !!! Great job !
great job!))
happy you reach 20)
@yamzho thanks a lot! I know, I always end up not having time enough to put lots of levels 🥲 I’m glad you liked it :)
@tomz-best thank you, also very happy to have reached 20 🙌
This is such a nice concept. I enjoyed playing it. Good luck getting to 20!
@g12345 thanks a lot! It’s done, I reached 20 👌
this was such a clever game. such a great use of the theme and i loved the mechanics. i would have liked a little more ramp up before hitting the bigger ones but it was still easy to pick up. thanks for making this great game.
thanks a lot @paulhocker I’m glad you liked the game :)
Hi all good, I would like to take a doubt before analyzing your game, because in the 3nd phase when killing the enemy the player is stuck, I tried several ways and I couldn't get out, am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug? .error.png
hi @etrealjunior unfortunately that's a bug :( a few people have it too, I am not sure why most people don't but some do I'm sorry you can't play the game because of that bug :( sorry you lost your time
I hope that in the future in the new upgrades of your project you will be able to fix it, because it seems that you have a very cool game and would like to play, a big hug my friend.
@etrealjunior thanks! I actually may make a new polished version of the game later when I’ll have the time :)
