I couldn't play it. Are you using the new input system or the old one? I _think_ it's whenever someone uses the old input system it makes the horizontal axis always stuck fully to the left, making games unplayable. No idea why. Sad because this looks super cool and I love the theme/objective! Graphics are well done too! Great job doing this for the compo!
@sharkmax218 Thanks! Yeah if I had more time fishes and enemies/bosses are some of the things I would have done!
@blackopsben Damn, that bums me out. Do you have a controller plugged in, or anything your computer recognizes as a controller? Because I am indeed using the old input system, but I configured it to correctly work with both keyboard and controller.
@fatsheep no, no controllers or anything. It's so bizarre.
I really liked the musical sound effects for the sonar pulse
I never got to the sonar pulse, but the rest of the audio was pretty good. I'm thinking you could put in some music though. Otherwise, great game, you did a good job!
I tried playing with a controller, and the control scheme felt quite awkward - I instinctively expected to use the control stick to go forwards and backwards, and had to manually adjust to using the bumpers for that. Also, having to hold down the right shoulder button and right bumper at the same time to move with a mine was difficult.
I liked the touch of having sunken warships scattered throughout the map, a nice bit of environmental storytelling. Diving deep into the underwater trench also felt very spooky, compared to the bright and almost cozy feeling at the surface.
Nice underwater experience :)
Pretty good game! In addition to what others have suggested with aggressive entities such as sharks, I feel that adding passive entities such as fish could enhance the experience and make the ocean feel more alive.
Quite a fun little game. I really like how control of the sub feels, and how it changes while carrying the differently sized loads. You really nailed the feel of diving deeper and deeper into the depths, and exploring the shipwrecks and trenches was a lot of fun. About the only thing that I found myself wishing for while playing (especially as the timer got down to the last minute or so) was a marker of some sort so I could find the boat again without getting all the way back to the surface. Overall I think that this was a really well put together and polished jam game. Well done!
Really cool game! Unfortunately I had control issues like others and couldn't fully interact with the game, but I really like the sound and environment! It was fun to see just how deep I could go, see all the sunken ships, etc. I also feel like you could re-use the physics setup to make a really fun game about rocket jumping off of sea-mines, but maybe that's just me :) Good work!
Nice idea. I’d like to see the game further developed.
nice) lacks of depth gauge to count a time well)And yes - it will be much more interractive if you add some fishes, Lochness monster or a couple of naked divers at least)
I thought the movement was pretty good actually. The game seemed to crash the first 2 times but the third time it worked. Not sure why, I did the same all 3 times. I exploded the bomb the first time, but after that I managed! Nice game, incredibly well made with graphics, but I think it needs a bit more of a challenge. Good job overall, and something you can be proud of!
Well made! I like this entry!
Great game, it has good graphics and an interesting idea. I had fun playing, but adding some fishes or a shop would make it even better.
For 48 hours it's great, good job.
I boop the nuke snoot... bloop bloop
Very liked this concept! In 10 minutes I've recovered 4 mines 1 torpedo and 1 nuke. Once, after I used sonar I've heard bass answer and started thinking that I can find Cthulhu himself. But I think this was only my imagination. Watch gameplay VOD here (13 may): https://www.twitch.tv/runuchok
I probably exploded myself. Big nuke badaboom))
The idea is really nice and the Graphics are awesome. Some textures are a bit mushy but the models are great.
The soundeffects are really good and the game just misses a small nice chilling background music :)
I would appreciate a First Person view when "collectin" a bomb to be more accurate and I think this would increase the mood.
The Sonar worked and felt really good.
In Total a really good Game, well done.
I didn't have any control issues (on mouse+keyboard, with gamepad not plugged in), except that the Ctrl-key-to-descend was the right Ctrl key only - not the left one as I'd have expected. But I really like how atmospheric this game feels (if that's the right word for an underwater game!) - the graphical style, environment design, sound effects, long timer and lack-of-music all work really well together to reenforce the very-chill-but-also-kinda-threatening feel of this game.
(I was about to comment about some issues with the "Thanks for playing" screen, but it sounds like you've already fixed the problems there in the 1.1 version. So I won't!)
