Awesome!
Cool and fun game!! Kind of hard to understand which way is right and which way is left.
Oh wow this is great I just wish I had the bandwidth after the game jam to play a puzzle game! :joy:
It was so tricky I got very far but I think I was on one of the last levels and spent about 20 min trying and gave up. Any tips on the level that looks a bit like several H's?
Thanks everyone for playing!
@fabdynamic Are you on stage 10? Not sure I see the several H's but maybe :-) The key to that stage is
!> to move fewer steps in the first iteration of the loop than in the following iterations

"Boing Boing Boing". Love the soundeffects. I gave up in the bonus stage
Good job!
Thanks again to everyone who played and rated my game!
For this last week of rating, here's the solution to all the stages:
!> Stage 1: Forward !> Stage 2: Forward, Forward, Left !> Stage 3: Forward, Left !> Stage 4: Reverse, Right, Reverse !> Stage 5: Forward, Right, Forward, Left !> Stage 6: Right, Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward !> Stage 7: Left, Forward, Forward, Right, Forward !> Stage 8: Left, Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward !> Stage 9: Forward, Forward, Forward, Left, Forward, Right !> Stage 10: Forward, Forward, Left, Forward, Right, Forward !> Bonus 1 Fast: Reverse, Right, Reverse, Reverse, Reverse, Reverse, Reverse !> Bonus 1 Slow: Reverse, Reverse, Reverse, Reverse, Reverse, Left, Reverse !> Bonus 2 Fast: Left, Reverse, Right, Reverse, Right, Forward, Left, Forward !> Bonus 2 Slow: Reverse, Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward, Left

I thought I was doing something smart when I discovered that you can crash into walls with no penalty. Turns out the puzzles are build around this mechanic.
The first level that I actually had to think was 9, but then I was surprised how dumb my solution was. I couldn't beat the second bonus level. I probably didn't learn something that I should have, since I mostly bruteforced.
Not a puzzle expert, but I am pretty sure that you just about exhausted all possibilities in this game. This is a plus, since a lot of games overstay their welcome. It ended by the time I learned how to effectively bruteforce the level. New levels would require new mechanics, but I am personally unsure how deep you could make them, since your loop doesn't allow for conditional logic.
I didn't mention on the other aspects of the game, since they are solid and I have nothing to add.
I love your take on the theme!! Really cool and very polished.
Very cool and interesting game, I made it to level 4 then it got a bit too complicated lmao. The fact you can change the movement speed of the robot allows me to see results faster which in return keeps me more engaged in the gameplay. Good entry I had quite a bit of fun.
Very nice! I got stuck at the bonus stages, but this is a lot of fun. The music is very engaging, the graphics are decent, and the levels are well designed.
I've seen this theme with at least in 3 other entries now, but this is the most polished, bravo! A lot of very nice touches make this game better than the sum of its parts: the clear and polished UI, the great keyboard controls, the playback speed control, the little sound effects, the well thought out puzzle levels, all in all great fun.
@bernhard could you tell me the syntax for the spoiler box? I think its useful, but I can't find the syntax anywhere and it drives me insane!
@voidsay lines that start with !> are shown that way
!> like this
@frank-gevaerts thank you!
Awesome entry! It would have been cool to have a "clear" button, but other than that awesome game!
Overall everything works good job. Got lucky on a few levels :)
Very interesting game, the second bonus game is the only one I did not manage to solve. The idea is very interesting!
Cool game! This is a nicely made game, but unfortunately is a very popular idea for game jams that I have seen many times. That may not be fair to judge this individually, but does make it more challenging to do this idea really well. A common issue that this game also has, is that puzzle solutions rely a lot on trial and error. Long solutions are too many moves for a player to reasonable predict the exact path, and just trying multiple solutions is easier and faster. Also, it is very easy to accidentally find the right solution. This leads to a lack of satisfaction when solving puzzles because there is no mental moment of discovering the solution. Would love to see this expanded on in a new direction. program components besides basic movement and level tiles other than walls and empty spaces could provide a huge range of interesting puzzles.
I agree with @rhoff95 : the game is pretty well made, the graphics are cool, but the puzzles are a bit too hard to solve without trial and error. That is the problem most games with this approach have, it is really hard to predict the path the robot will take after a few loops, so when the levels become a bit large and the action count increases, finding the solution is too hard to be really fun. Or maybe it's just not my type of game. Anyways, it's a great compo entry, the game is not bugged, there are a lot of levels, and the art is simple yet is coherent, which gives the game a great level of polish. Well done !
I fully agree with you @rhoff95. I realized early on to actually make this idea work it probably should count driving into a wall as a failure. But then level design becomes much harder, beyond the gamejam scope/my ability. Also as you mentioned additional map features like things to pick up or teleporters could be cool. Or maybe customizable loop points like LOOP X TIMES, or LOOP INFINITE. But then again, there's probably plenty games like this around. Bummer that this did not pan out to be a puzzle game that makes the player feel smart, but there's always a next time  Thanks for playing and the thoughtful feedback!
