Dad...

Now that you've opened the game, you have no choice. You must kill it. Think you can escape by closing your browser window? You would be erasing this poor creature's existence - the equivalent of murder. Want to restart your computer? That's not gonna fly. Every action you take will result in your new friend's death. All the while, the little bug is hitting its head on your hammer, practically begging you to kill it. Teasing you. Taunting you. It's torment, but you can't. Murder is never right. As agonizing as it is to watch him fly back and forth, over and over, you can't bring yourself to drop the hammer. This tab will remain open in your browser for all eternity, lest you paint your hands red with the suffering of an innocent creature.

This game is a trap. The only way you can remain clean is to not start the game to begin with. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't play this game.

...10/10

So simple and so funny. Well done.

This game is so sad I can not go back, I tried refreshing but it is still there. The EgG

machwerx 2020-04-26 23:42

At first, I thought it was pretty dumb because I just hit the space bar as soon as it loaded. Then I read some more, cleared my cookies for that site, and tried it again. I was happy to see that there was more to it than I initially thought. (You can also try running this in an incognito window.)

Clever, simple idea. You could have added touch controls.

meelo 2020-04-26 23:56

What a strange concept - but well executed. Somehow, I started to feel paranoid that I would accidentally or impulsively hit the spacebar again by accident on my second play-through after modifying a suspicious cookie labelled "dead" (and I just had to squish the little guy when it started bumping my hammer...)

It is dead. I try to refresh but it cannot erase my dark deed. Even in another world, I cannot resist the urge forever. Father... I am a monster.

(Great concept & use of the theme. Would have loved to hear some audio with it.)

I have no deeper regret than killing this perfect creature. Nicely done, may God have mercy on my soul.

yodog 2020-04-27 00:12

!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!! "Press spae to kill. OK! ::dies:: LOL WTF is this nonsense?! How does this fit the theme?!" And then it hit me. This IS the theme and I am the enemy. I've just murdered this poor egg. I hit refresh only to see that there was no return. My egg was toast. I had to know what was in the egg. I opened the game up in another browser. There it was. Good as new. My wife walks in and I begin to tell her about the game that I am playing. While I'm talking to her about it, she reads the instructions as the egg is about to hatch, and without blinking, hits the spacebar. It is dead once again. How do I bring it back?? I clear my cookies, and for a third time, I watch as it grows and becomes the creature it was meant to be. It's been about 20 minutes now and it is still bouncing back and forth, begging me to hit that spacebar. I'm tempted, but cannot bring myself to do it. Beautful work.

alxander 2020-04-27 00:16

I smashed the egg on my first run, then I realised I cannot refresh the game :D Deleted cookies and then waited for the whole thing. Honestly, I expected it to grow bigger and kill me :D Funny either way

plopmenz 2020-04-27 11:24

Killed it right away. 10/10 great breakfast.

eli-delventhal 2020-04-28 01:18

Haha, clever idea. Not really much of a game but I gave you a decent score for the sheer cheek of it.

fabian-g 2020-05-01 08:42

Oh no! Cool idea, sorry for killing you, egg

notexplosive 2020-05-04 02:36

You bastard, how could you make me do this.

I love it.

cheesepencil 2020-05-09 18:24

Yes, a video game can be a work of art.

kjscott 2020-05-10 09:36

Simple but nice concept, I echo a lot of the same sentiments of the previous players. Would like to have seen more, that's all.

davidsheadgames 2020-05-10 09:45

This is why you should always play games in incognito ;)

Got to kill it AND let it grow into a new pet.

I liked the devious mechanic of making your choice permanent (I think through stored cookie, but I haven't checked), the art had its own style going for it, and it had an interesting premise.

It does inevitably 'die', just because there's technically no other option other than waiting.

A good twist on the premise.

It's asking for a review of audio, but I didn't get any audio...
