The introductory dialog definitely made me chuckle - I felt quite inspired to go find wood (once I found the door), though I then felt quite abandoned when I went south to get some and couldn't find my way back for quite a while (but I did manage to get some wood back into the ship, contrary to what the description says!)
Nice lighting effects. The player should probably move faster.
The pixel art and the way lighting interacts with is beautiful

@meelo I'm not sure why I thought it didn't work, it definitely does! Thank you for checking for me <3 @nerd-everyday It's not obvious, but you can click to do a much faster 'Leap' which has a fun lil animation that took way too much of my time

Thank you for your entry. I liked the idea that you are a feeder of the flame. Mighty feeder even. I like the leap technique even thought I would prefer not to lost the wood. Because I somehow leap throught the dark to the falcon space ship and there was a piece of shiny wood which I think would be good for the flame but the player without leap was so slow I decide it not to dwelve on it. I did get lost and could not find the way back - maybe minimap or at least pointer to the flame would be helpful. And the shiny pixel art was also warm and nice.
Like flame pixel art.
Blaz-B lol - thats my new nickname
Nice visuals. I feel like the character could move a bit faster, and the click movement could be a little more precise. I liked the dialogue a lot, nice addition! You could add landmarks to make the map more interesting. Nice job! :D

Very atmospheric start, and the lighting looks mighty fine.
It's a shame that the outside can't keep up, but it's only 48 hours after all. The movement is really annoyingly slow, that would be one of the first things to change. And what you said, more variety outside, enemies, etc. Could be a nice little game, Blaz-B!
my kind of game ,. nice :)

Using the light to indicate your status rather than a progress bar was a really good choice. Movement was a little bit slow. I wouldn't have minded the action to be a little bit more hectic. Nice job keeping Blazane alive!
Congratulations on finishing and submitting a game to Ludum Dare! I see you already have some future features planned and figure out, but also think on the pacing of the game. Movement is rather slow (even with the leap, which I find a pretty nice addition), and ever slower when carrying wood.
Sound seems broken in html5, nice graphics and controls.

As others have indicated, the movement was so slow for me. Compared to the dash, I never thought I was in control of my movement too much. I did notice that the large logs seemed to slow me down even more, and that was a good touch! Also, apparently there's no sound in the web version?

Hi Croze! I love the inspiration from Howl's Moving Castle! I wonder if it was actually possible to dash with logs? sometimes I'd throw the log, linger by it for a couple seconds, then dash, and it would move with me as if I had picked it up in the location I dashed to. Even if not intentional, I found it a cool hack to workaround the slow move speed when carrying a log. Excited to see where you take this project, as it seems like you have some cool features lined up in your postmortem to-do!

Pretty good graphics and sound design, it would be very interesting to see what could become this game one you add all the content you plan to make. The dialogs are good too!
Neat entry!
I like the concept of having to explore to search for wood, then return to your moving fortress. The lighting was nice, as were the graphics (particularly the sprite for Blazane).
As people have mentioned, the movement was very slow. I liked the fact that you got slower when you picked up logs, but the base movement could be multiplied easily by three or four times. Otherwise, it can feel bad that it takes you a minute to go and pick up a stick that gives you twenty seconds of fuel.
I do think the resources were a bit scarce as well, although increasing the movement speed would mean you would effectively have access to more as you can search farther. It was nice that it starts you out with a stockpile in case you get unlucky at first.
It would be really interesting to see this game be expanded to include more random landmarks, hostile enemies, or other secrets lurking in the dark.
Well done for a Compo entry!

Nice game! It's a great concept, having to explore in the darkness to find resources. It plays quite well. The only issue I had was that the movement was way too slow. The leap helped to mitigate that a bit, but I still think the speed should be increased by a large amount. There could also be more things to find in the darkness than just small campfires. The possibilities are endless! Overall I liked this entry, I had fun playing it. ;)
This game has a really beautiful look to it!
