panagiotis-iatrou 2020-04-20 21:40

Nice, created a nice vibe!

madbookstudios 2020-04-20 21:41

I really love the art for this game. Nice narrative too. Great work!

kajetan-andrzejak 2020-04-20 21:42

love the art, the camera movement is really satisfying :D, the movement could've been a bit better though

krebzor 2020-04-20 21:45

the art is really nice, it is a great game for mobile and andriod. It was nice getting the info at the beggining on how everything works because if not I would have been 100% lost....

rrsmtz 2020-04-20 21:47

I liked this a lot. The time travel mechanic is great and I love how it supports the theme and story.

colehorvat 2020-04-20 21:47

This is a great one! I really enjoyed the world-building here and the art style is great. I also really liked the music.

Very well made!

louis-hayes-greenwood 2020-04-20 21:50

Amazing pixel art and audio, really enjoyed the feeling in this game and the quirky writing

magus24 2020-04-20 21:54

Great game,good graphics and history!

bigtinygames 2020-04-20 22:05

Yeay made it to the end Thats quite long game for a jam like just wow

quichi 2020-04-20 22:11

Great game! I really love the pixel art, the player animations are really smooth.

I also really like how you put in a hint system, I got pretty confused at the start so those sparkles really helped me out :)

I do think the movement is a little bit clunky, I don't see any reason to restrict the player the grid in this game. It took me a long while at the beginning to figure out why the movement wasn't lining up with my input. Perhaps it would be a good idea to make the background more clearly tile based if the player movement is to be restricted to the grid.

It also took me a while to understand the point of the game, maybe that could be made a little more clear at the start of the game somehow?

Overall, I really enjoyed playing the game. The aesthetics set a nice and relaxing atmosphere, which compliments the theme of the game perfectly. Great work!

fables 2020-04-20 22:33

Thank you everyone for the comments, and even playing my game at all! Hope you all enjoyed the jam!

britt 2020-04-21 03:33

I really love the story! The puzzle was fun to play out :D awesome work!

borodaolen 2020-04-21 08:50

I love this style very much.

radow 2020-04-21 14:25

Amazing level building. that's quite a number of places to visit!

alexhicks 2020-04-21 14:26

Really good entry, enjoy that you took the theme and twisted it on then head by applying it to history. Nice Job!

spyri 2020-04-21 14:30

Absolutely awesome @fables this was the best one I've played so far. Managed to do 100% and loved every second of it.

grizzliusmaximus 2020-04-21 15:02

I don't know but this game is pretty outstanding compared to the others I've seen. It feels of this game is something else. I might just be nostalgia but I really love the environment and the puzzles are very engaging. Outstanding Game!!!

kiln 2020-04-22 01:41

I love the art style for this game. The concept is good too. I could definitely see this being fleshed out into an entire game!

2020-04-22 06:50

I'm a youtuber, your game is very nice! I want to make a video with the best games of LDJam46. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOdTsWE7iIk . Can I find your game also on indiexpo website? The channel is linked with them.

fables 2020-04-22 08:14

@torh Sure thing, I can look into uploading it to indiexpo also. Really appreciate you considering this game for the video! You can find my twitter at @FablesGameDev if you want to chat :)

2020-04-22 08:15

You are welcome! Take me tuned!

fables 2020-04-22 08:39

@torh https://www.indiexpo.net/en/games/look-back Page is set up :) Web and Windows should both work.

cheesepencil 2020-04-24 03:21

Pretty cool! Time travel is a marvelous thing.

luckyfeathers 2020-04-24 23:59

Cool game @fables! :) I saw Dan play it on his stream, and now I've tried it for myself as well. Great solo game entry. Art and music are great! Whenever I went into fullscreen though the menu button ended up almost in the middle of the screen? Seems like you have your canvas scaling set to constant pixel size?

fables 2020-04-25 00:27

@luckyfeathers Yeah haha, Menu was the last thing I managed to add and made the web build straight after testing it was ok on the small windows version :P Fixed now but keeping the jam link as-is :) Thanks for playing!

jonrei 2020-04-25 01:55

The art, music and mood is really nice. I think the camera and UI needs some work, it feels a bit too zoomed in, especially since the graphics are so nice, I really want to see more of it. The menu button on the middle of the screen is a bit in the way as well. But I think the game itself is really cool, im getting a very nostalgic feel of it.

jacksgamessucks 2020-04-26 07:12

graphics and art are cool. i think it would be great to have bigger perspective and see more on screen. also i managed to get out of screen, camera was to slow to follow. with some polishing this game should be really good.

nimphious 2020-04-27 05:36

Fantastic work. You got so much done in the 48 hours.

You captured such an intense mood with comparatively little dialogue or exposition. Your world building was great. I loved all the little touches like the increasing apparent wealth and grandeur of the Mayor and his family at the expense of everything else.

akitl 2020-04-30 12:15

cool mechanics !

ogma 2020-05-04 06:35

I was able to go to the secret room! (and tweet you about it haha)

Great job! I really liked to play your game, it was really intriguing, it puts your in the right mood right at the start between the pretty graphics, the (well made / chosen) OST, the "pacing", etc...

I didn't notice any real bug. The only thing I found a bit "odd" (for lack of a better term, sorry) is the grid movements. It helps to set the pace of the adventure in a way, but it also surprised me, I'm not too sure about the necessity of this kind of movement there. ^^ The hint button is a well thought feature, especially given the time you had.

Anyway, well done! :)

thibaud-ligneul 2020-05-08 15:05

Nice little game. The story might be a bit too cryptic and the puzzle too far-fetched lol. I also had trouble reading the menu and understanding that it was a map  But good entry anyway

elysiagriffin 2020-05-09 18:58

Hey Fables!

I wish I wasn't in such a rush when I played your game - though it did add that mild amount of peril trying to race through it in 5 minutes!

I liked the concept of switching between old and new, and how it was incorporated both into the story and the puzzles.

2020-05-18 16:30

Neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/N721nAhkovk
