Great job! I thought it was a cool balance of a "the game of life" style simulation plus a puzzle game. My only issue is that right now once you figure out a strategy it feels like you will never lose. If I can offer a suggestion - maybe make the player have to change their plan every now and then? (For example - every X turn a plant is placed randomly without your control... or every X turn water is removed from one tile and added to another tile) But that's a minor balance complaint. Overall it's a good idea that works really well!

Hello there, really nice game, loved the graphics, the music, the sound effects, the general aesthetic. I would love playing a game like this, with more plant species and more danger on a bigger map. Great job

Same as the previous com, this is beautifull and can be a great game with more direct threat and goal !

I quite agree with Jarmustard on every point. I played 200 turns until I decided to burn everything, but seeing the last pine, I rebuild a forest until turn 300, when I decided to definitely burn the forest. But despite the lack of difficulty, the game is really relaxing, and I loved it as it is ! :purple_heart:

It's a very relaxing game. Simple and nice. Good job!

blackquiltro 2020-04-21 15:59

Very relaxing and pretty game, would love some more challenge but I liked it overall. Really nice graphics and polish.

argon 2020-04-21 16:53

@jarmustard Thanks a lot ! It's true that it's quite hard to loose for the moment, thank you for your suggestions, I realy like the idea of the field evolving, I will try it as soon as possible !

That atmosphere is just amazing! really well done on using this tiles!

tom-stephenson 2020-04-21 19:54

It's a really relaxing game, although it did feel a little too easy! The graphics look great and overall it's well polished. With a few balance tweaks this would be very addictive, good job!

A nice relaxing game. Unfortunately it suffers from the combinations of not having a direct goal and being too hard to lose. Overall I like how simple and polished it is

gabrielh 2020-04-21 19:56

Very relaxing and pleasing experience

studiocurtis 2020-04-21 19:59

I love the graphics and sound. Very beautiful and calming. I did find the game logic a bit too complex for my taste. Consider options for a more simple game play for the first level, so the player can get a handle on the process before adding more complexity in another level. Overall great job!

Wow! This game is truely innovative! You can feel like Tetris was a inspiring factor for this as it gives you different things in a order and forces you to place them strategically. Great gameplay, art, audio and atmosphere. If there was one thing I'd have to point out, then it's that a sort of "true challenge" and reward system for playing good is missing.

conor-galvin 2020-04-21 20:08

Wow, really love the art style! It took me couple seconds to get the hang of the mechanics but once I did it was super fun and engaging. Congratulations!

kazimainul 2020-04-21 20:12

The artwork as well as the BGM is very relaxing. I would love to play it on a bigger area.

joe-bustamante 2020-04-21 20:12

Woah, this is so cool! The atmosphere of the game is great - the audio is awesome, and the graphics are really impressive for a game jam (can tell you were art students!). Once I got the hang of how to play, it was really fun. After awhile I wish there was a bit more challenge or some rewards to incentivize continuing on, but I wanted to keep playing just because the game is so calming and charming. Really well done!

I like the graphics and that was so relaxing !

audreyc 2020-04-21 20:15

Beautiful and interesting game. The music and sounds fit perfectly. The instructions are placed and explained well. It was very engaging despite the limited actions. It seems difficult to lose because of how the growth patterns automatically cut off forest fires.

altruism 2020-04-21 20:16

Very relaxing and interesting game, I agree it might be a little easy but with a couple new tree types/mechanics this game could really thrive! I could totally see myself playing this for a long time

le-slo 2020-04-21 22:21

What a pleasant experience, it seems that it is impossible to lose (since the trees will always have an "empty" middle spot, fire will never propagate into the forest) but I did enjoyed during the first 150 turns. The art is beautiful, and the music + sound effects build a very nice atmosphere. Another detailed is that the cursor is centered in the sprites, but I think it should be in the bottom of the trunks (as the would be planted). Excellent travail!

meelo 2020-04-21 22:57

The game is really pleasant to play - though it was more of an experience of "ooh, look at the pretty forest growing" than something with a lot of meaningful interaction from the players. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Really nice game, love idea, simple but effective and innovative! Art style also shines!

alex-adedge 2020-04-22 12:08

Great work, really nice visuals and polish with this one! Lightening was definetly fun to use. Like others have said though, its not overly challenging. Perhaps there could be some goal to work towards, like a certain number of turns, and then you win and a different level is started. I found it pretty easy to manage grass by keeping it in the corners and away from trees. It just felt like it was lacking 1 other element to make things a bit more challenging, something random like trees falling over and taking up a bunch of squares you didnt expect , potentially joining areas or spreading fire and just limiting the area you have to work with.

bamboocha 2020-04-22 20:00

Visuals are nice and clean. Mechanics are explained clearly. The theme is incorporated perfectly and I really like the mechanics! Really enjoyed puzzling through this game. Great work :)

Always love seeing other folks using Godot! Nice relaxing puzzle game, I enjoyed the experience a lot. Beautiful art, intuitive controls. Wonderful entry!

g12345 2020-04-23 20:12

I like these tree saving games. My first game got to 80 turns and then I got so many lightnings that I can't help. This is fun.

Sometimes it's difficult to see behind the tall trees to know if I can put things there or not. It's also hard to guess in which turn your tree is. But the game is still fun. :)

wallyfoo 2020-04-24 10:16

Really delightful game. Kind, gentle. Fantastic ambience, great sound. Simple idea very well executed. Nice job!

adam-munton 2020-04-24 12:26

A nice tranquil game playLovely tranquil game. I enjoyed the screen layout and getting some how to play on the screen was neat. I played it to level 216 and now feel I have mastered forestry.

amigarulz 2020-04-24 19:49

A very relaxing game. Excellent sound. I enjoyed this.

paulhocker 2020-04-28 01:26

nice calm and relaxing game. reminds me a little of triple town. perhaps things were a bit too random for my taste, but overaall good. thanks for making it.

kiddychris 2020-04-30 19:24

graphics and music are awesome! but is it legal to make a game that addictive? :D I literally can't stop playing
