I really liked it, very fun game to play. Sounds and controls were very well made. Good job!

Clever game! Had fun playing it!

The idea of having to build your own robot parts to get better is really cool!

drtizzle 2019-10-11 19:24

Very nice game! It took me a while to figure out how it worked, but after that it was fun! Really well made how the wheels adjusted itself, and I liked the wheel rotation sprites. With some polish and some more features, I could see myself playing this a lot.

*(When I got killed some sound got triggered every frame, so that sounded a bit harsh. You might want to check that out :loud_sound:)*

Overall a very well made, and fun game!

Very fun and interesting concept! One of the very few LD games that I actually finished. Not sure if adding wheels increases your speed - if not, then it should, because movement felt a little too slow for my taste. Would be nice to have an option to replace/remove/fix existing parts.

potti 2019-10-11 20:03

@drtizzle oh yes, we will look into that, thanks for your feedback.

@simanis In fact, additional wheels actually provide their own force, but each module also increases the weight of the robot, and wheels only apply force if they can (wheels that are not turning cannot adjust their angle to help in the desired direction). We would have added more interaction with parts if time had permitted. Thanks for your feedback.

I've seen games where you build a combat vehicle out of blocks before, but never seen one where you do it while you're actually driving it. Really nice idea!

Realy funny. You can create a monster that look more like a cancer than a tank. It would be cool to have a way to recycle parts of your ... think to construct a better and more efficient shape. It's a cool start, i think you can create a great game with that. And good luck to have your 20 votes in time ;)

Nice game, well implemented mechanic and fits the theme nicely! Would have loved some music but all in all a great game.

Really fun game. I like the graphics, audio, and game play. Really nice work!

Very clever, I enjoyed the details like the movement of the arm.

I really like the idea of building up your own character as you escape from a lab. I kind of wish there were a mechanism to learn and iterate about what kinds of modifications were useful, but this is a really promising idea.

Death to the roombas!!!! This was such a good game. So clever, I enjoyed it very much.

I, for one, welcome our new robotic overlords! Great game, really love the idea of building a modular robot, a great take on the theme.

really fun little game, gave me strong captain forever vibes, had a lot of fun starting out with an absolute monstrosity with wheels on the front and back so i had to sort of row about, very enjoyable game

grahamax 2019-10-28 23:17

A lot of fun to play, and very charming.

One thing I noticed is that it would work well to remove the building pop up when you click on the side. At first I accidentally opened multiple of them because I read it as “wheel X” aka can't build wheel. I would also advise against having enemies that fire bullets from off screen, solutions: zoom out the camera, have more corridors that only scroll in one direction or limit enemies to only fire on screen.

Other then that, interesting! The building was interesting and I like the effect of moving the claw around.

Nice idea, could have used some more instructions to get you going.
