The art and style of this game is incredible! Extremely well done!

I died and didn't respawn....sorry there was something addicting about launching myself down. Might have been the combo of the spider + the pit at once? Though I was some distance above the pit so.... Game looks nice, physics are fun to mess around with.

Really liked this. The cues are such a nice touch. Good job! love how you progressed the game also!

Nice atmosphere, very enchanting, graphics are nice, but game feel could have been a bit better.

Very nice work with those animated plants, particles, effects and graphics overall. The moment everything grew up was beautiful, too bad for complete silence, but understood and fine. Need to admit I gave up where the spider queen was nesting - took me a lot of effort and many repeating attempt to get there and I did not find a way around avoiding inevitable touch with her and end of my adventure. I may return for the penguin later .)

thetatautau 2019-10-09 08:58

@onnofal Did you get the double jump before you get to the queen? There is a text message that explains that the cliff is too high and that you have to go back. But you could have miss this message as it is printed only once. I should have made this clearer.

onnofal 2019-10-09 09:24

@thetatautau Thanks for help, totally missed the double jump - went back as advised, but I did not decoded "feeling even lighter" :) Now I can't understand how was I able to get there at all. And the adventure continues better and larger than expected!

Nice atmosphere! really cute and beautiful! The concept of bringing more and more mechanics is not new, but working! especially with the story! great entry!!

The art reminds me of NITW actually, which is amazing! I really enjoy the mood and it would be better with some sfx or soundtrack. really hope I could make some ambient sound for this game.

Amazing atmosphere! I got a bit lost with all the moving shrooms, though, but nice job!

tigerfinch 2019-10-10 21:49

This is really nice. Found the slippy controls a little hard to deal with when I was doing the big jump to the right, but a really cool experience

hajden 2019-10-11 09:59

Nice parallax and little polish touches on the vegetation. Too bad you didn't manage to put audio in, it would have reinforced the mood well. Controls are a bit iffy, but I'm glad the character speeds up soon after a very slow start.

zubspace 2019-10-12 23:56

Looks really nice! The increase of speed and the addition of jump and double jump feels nice. I like how you narrate what is going on. Unfortunately I could not progress after reaching the ufo shrooms. The one moving just went all the way left and I fell down...

This game has a great graphical style, I thought that it really worked with the story that you tell in it. I quite liked the effect that you used throughout the game as the parts of the world came to life. I think that this game fit the theme quite well, it gave me a good sense of starting the game not knowing what to expect from the world. I liked your choice for how to display the text that fed me the story. The platforming in the game felt a little bit janky, sometimes the character would flip to try and orient to the ceiling or the jump would barely lift me off the ground. Speaking of the character, its design and that of the enemies was awesome, they really have a unique look to them. I also loved the bird at the end, it was a good way to cut off the world and put an end on the game. I did miss having sounds or music, but I well understand over scoping the project and not having time for them, and what you did produce is awesome! This game starts off well, and definitely has great potential with some polish and more game. Great LD entry!

Amazing graphics and atmosphere. Also enjoyable and well balanced. Overall I have no negative points except I would like to see more content! Nevertheless you achieved a lot for a compo game. I progressed through the game smoothly, with the text cues giving appropriate hints. Some people complained about the physics, but I found they were good enough not to be annoying and not to cause me to get stuck anywhere.

thevideogamester 2019-10-13 20:30

Love the look of this game. I felt the controls were generally fine though I wasn't a fan of the camera's y movement. Felt like I had to use the look down control to much. Its fine for the look up but I think that adding to the camera so it centers on the y a bit more without having to press any keys would be nice.

Really lacks of music and sounds for the mood but it's still great. Just had a bug once, my character did not respawn after a death. Well done!

rplnt 2019-10-14 19:08

Lovely looking game. All the visuals fit well together, the story/hints were nice as well. Tutorial aspect of learning that death isn't as bad was great. Only issue I've had were the controls - especially the jumping - it didn't feel consistent? Maybe it was the surfaces I was moving on or it could have been my lower framerate? Either way, a very solid entry.
