Cool game. I liove the mechanics and camera shake when player shoots. Also music is nice. But I have some problems with dodging. Maybe you will change direction towards the mouse. Anyway good job!
Really fun :)
Decent game, minimalist but tasteful graphics, good sound, tight controls, player hitbox felt a bit big and I kinda wish the gameplay tied in with the jam theme a bit more.
I have to admit, I didn't expect that from the screenshot, but I think that it's a really nice game! Everything fits well for me, from graphics to music to camera shake. One thing I have to say though, is that I always managed to get in a "sweet spot" for the first few levels, where I couldn't get hit by anything, which made it pretty easy then.
Very addictive game. I just stopped right
Screenshot (4).png Welp, I finally completed it after 5 tries. Very fun game to play for only having 4 enemies. You guys used a genre I wouldn't see with this theme and you did it very well. Props!
What do you buy exactly? :P Adjectives?
Very well polished. All the effects and shakes and stuff really made it fun! Great game!
Also, please mark your game as "for Windows" on itch.io so it can be downloaded from the Itch App! :)
Sweet! Couldn't resist playing to get the highest possible score. :) The game feels smooth and the visual feedback is awesome. The added bullet spread to reward players who get closer to the enemies is another nice touch. Well-rounded entry! Thanks! Untitled.png
@steffo Well the idea was that you kinda buy useless thing with your life. The words represent those things, which are like a common words used in commercials. Oh and thank you for the tip!
A well-crafted experience. The controls are responsive and the game has enough juice to be satisfying even though the combat isn't as complex as other shooters. The theme was well used and the music fit it all perfectly. Over all, super well made!
It's a rather fun game and I had a good time completing it. It's not that easy btw :) I especially like the feedback when your bullets hit an ennemy with the screen shaking. The audio is pretty cool too even if it's simple ! Great game :)
Clicked on this game because the ld thumbnail looked like it said 'EAT ASS', I don't regret it though; while there's no ass eating around, there is a really satisfying shooter with really pleasant colours and music. Only thing I wish is that perhaps the dash button be on a bumper/trigger alongside the A button? I found it a little cumbersome to press sometimes.
@mr-field Thank you! I think that you can rebind the keys from the unity launcher, didn't test that tho.
Best game so far. I only have one doubt which also applies to the game I developed for LD 43: what do you think about letting people continue playing even when they have no chance of winning anymore? I'm afraid that could be frustrating..I mean when I realized that, I started killing myself as soon as I got hit because I knew I couldn't possibly win, so maybe should it just be a 1 life game, without the paying for the levels?
@sbeif Yes, had the same doubts. At first I thought to just have 3 more lives than the levels, so that you would have 3 tries and wrap levels for people who did not get hit. But then I decided that the main point of the game is how pointless the rewards are and how we fixate on getting scores/things (in this case more like words :P). So I just left the issue as it is since it kinda also gives a feeling of helplessness. Making a point of "you buy stuff till you die" (a little pretentious I guess :P).
@ratz uuuh I see that now...well played ;)
The controls and the shooting are very well made but I must say I don't quite understand the story and what exactly you are buying. Still, it was a nice experience!
Really solid game! Loved the experience, had lots of fun trying to beat the game! couldn't finished it, I've reached the last level and died xD Loved the atari-like graphics btw.
Juiciest game i played yet! Art style is simple but very effective. Love the little details that went into it. Like having a smaller Hitbox than visible, invuln on dash, or the famous "giving the player a reason to not shoot" by making him slower.
Great game, I love the music and the representation. I like your take on the theme. Well done, one of my favourites!
really interesting score system, I did not manage to reach the last level, but it was fun to try, the graphic style is simple but the designs of the different enemies works great !
This is a nice simple game with a lot of polish. :) I would say my favorite detail is the way that the audio ducks when you're not hitting anything, and then amplifies when you actually make contact with an enemy.
The game itself is a tad on the easy side, but I don't think it's a detriment to the overall fun I had with it! I'm a sucker for twin-stick stuff, so this scratched just the right itch. Excellent job, especially considering this was a solo project!
I know you would like to know more on this topic, that's why I would like to share [spam] with you. This is the nice and informative blog which I've recently found and it helps me a lot to get the best information.
