Can't play windows games. :-/
Challenging boss fight; tough to know how close you are to winning/destroying part of the boss but good effort all round!
its very amazing, perfect gameplay
Really cool boss fight mechanics.
I love the work- great job! Also... RO... BOSS!!!
@rexpeppers I'll try to upload Mac and Linux versions in a couple days when I get home, sorry 'bout that.
Good Gaming Idea, Music needs to be improved Graphics good
Nice boss, stylish futuristic style. The inertia is kinda weird when you are flying away, and rockets are really hard to hit. But anyway, still great :)
I really struggled to make any progress with the boss. It takes a long time to fall to your death, and there's very little room to learn the mechanics (since being hit even once is enough to throw you from the arena). I think it would have been more fun if there was a barrier initially, or if there wasn't really any risk of falling off until a few of the tiles had been destroyed. As it was, I didn't really get to experience "running out of space".
Nonetheless, great job! The audio and graphics are really good, and it's not a bad game just because I suck at it.
Great job on the atmosphere with the quality audio and graphics. The slow movement controls were frustrating with the amount of knock-back received from hits. I think if the player felt like they could work their way back to the platform after taking a hit it would be more motivating to keep trying.
Could be a very fun/addicting challenge with some parameter tweaks.
Pretty awesome concept. I felt like i got knocked off by absolutely everything, so maybe the platform could be contained but the tiles that drop you can fall through? It looks awesome though and the zooming when firing is really nice in my opinion.
@rexpeppers We have just updated our game with Mac and Linux versions if you still want to play! (@everyone, if you have any problems with these versions please let us know as they are untested)
Very polished and nice. As far as boss fights go this was definitely a very good one. Nice job!
Since I've made a boss fight game too, I decided I just have to beat this. :P And I did.
It looks pretty stylish, and the music is good! And I liked the boss moves.
My only complaint would be the slightly cheap laser hitbox, which requires you to time your jumps very carefully.
The graphics are really good along with the music. Enjoyed a lot.
The thing that got me the most was the graphics,it really sits well with the whole game Good luck🍀
This looked really cool on stream, so I'll definitely play it myself. Great entry!
Played both the Jam and post-jam edition..
- Jam: - Quite a boss-fight challenge; :ok_hand: Requires loads of patience to defeat boss. - Post-Jam: - Good idea and nicely done of creating a tutorial mode. :ok_hand: - I could not shoot down the missiles at the final partition of the tutorial.. - Finally some Health Bars! (could be optional to have no health-bars for HARD mode)
Optional Suggestions: - Once you toast the boss's core on its hands, it's boss-Fist-Smash that destroys a tile could instead be a Small Area of Effect - 'Shockwave'/Knock-out effect (eg. like Laser) instead of destroying tile. (As long its cores are active, it could destroy tiles) or - Cores could actually regenerate over time (cool-down period 25 seconds); some tiles may randomly re-spawn once the boss recovers its cores. (Could create a mode for longest time of match). - Ability to respawn-tiles [or even-stack tiles; Boss-Fist-Smash on stacked-tile = random drop or effect] but it costs your health.
Keep it up!
Nice classic boss fight! Really fits the "running out of space" theme. I think the gameplay could use some tweaks still -- getting hit by missiles almost feels good, because it pops you up in the air (which gives you more time to return to ground) but it was quite fun overall.
Nice boss fight! Assets are great and really builds the mood. Very challenging, though almost all hits are death ensured (played jam version). One thing that was a bit annoying was the time it took to die, since the destroy area was way below the stage. Other than that, great entry
Cheers!
Cool game! Rockets are really strong :p But then again, he is a boss!
Great game! I saw this on stream and decided to play it. I really like the graphics and the gameplay
I like the base idea but I found the controls not pleasing at all, it makes the game unnecessarily hard and frustrating. I don't get either why the robot can face left or right, if you're strafing while shooting and you're always facing the boss. I'd change the controls for smoother ones, I'm sure the game could be more enjoyable. Congrats on the boss design though, it really feels like one and the attacks and patterns are nicely designed.
Nice Boss hands! Reminds me of some good old Smash Bros :) Apart from me constantly being pushed off the edge, I had fun with it. Great job!
