Done enjoy!
Gotta have some quick reaction time there. I wasn't sure how play at first; maybe throw in some instructions on the itchio page.
I like the idea you came up with, it was clever and an interesting use of dexterity and color. A break after completing a level would help as would a transition between levels. Some king of feedback to let the player know they have completed the level and are moving onto another one. Having sound and music help with immersion and keeps the player engaged with the game. I do understand time issues and the need to cut certain things, so I don't fault you for not including sound and music. All in all I did enjoy playing the game. Congrats on completing your game!
@enchaec thanks for playing my game and leaving feedback, you are right I am going to get on that right now.
@kunonooni Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed my game and thank you for the feedback. Yes that's correct I had to cut music because of time and because I don't know how to make good music. I did consider a menu between levels that would wait until you clicked. I thought it would slow down the gameplay too much and seem out of place so I cut the idea, but I like your suggestion of a transition which wouldn't stop the gameplay but would slow it down for players to recover. Thanks!

Hey it seems to be a fun game, I think it loosely tight to the theme, because this is not running out of space, you need to land a block to a specific position and it has to be the right color. A way to reinforce the theme is to have the blocks smaller and smaller in size so its harder to put them in the right position. In term of the presentation, I like the UI, the texts popping up is very nice. The programming art is alright, but it could be better. I think you have the maximum point is like +103? its a bit arbitrary, I think you could make it 100, unless 103 means something to you hehe. Anyhow, good work, keep it up!
@nam-nguyen Thanks for the review. The maximum points is +105, It really should be 100 but I add 5 to each score so people can get over 100 score when placing so the rainbow color is used :). The theme incorporation is that when you miss a tile you lose that tile to place buildings on next turn, until you have 0 tiles and you lose. So (as long as you miss) you are running out of space. Somewhat loose, but I think it fits.
Hey Jack, nice small puzzling game. I was only missing some sounds that would have nice feedback effect whenever you place the building and transition to a 'new level' scenario. Overall fresh and interesting idea definitely potential for further development when refined. Nice job!
@t8kk Thanks! Yeah I didnt have time for sound. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I plan to release on mobile.
Some games have really great audio, or impressive graphics, or cool effects. This game showcases really solid design. It's a simple concept which is easy to learn and scales well.
Fun game
It's a pity that you could not add any music or sfx, look up for Bosca Ceoil, it's a very simple tool to use and good enough for oneself not to complain. I liked the gameplay, it can be a game of just a few minutes or last a long time, the difficulty curve increases quite well, it did not feel unfair at any time and after a while the controls are easily learned. The art is quite simple, so it is easy to understand what you must do, and you do not have any kind of confusion with the UI or anything like that. If I could add something, it would be a little more substance to the game, maybe some particles will come out when the cube fits in the square of the same color of them. Congratulations for completing (mostly) the game! Incredible what a person can do in just 48. I hope to see the game more polished, it is a good game.
The gameplay is so good and unique! Graphics is a bit messy, I think its better to make low poly minimalistic design here.
Simple design but fun to play. Tricky at first but becomes easier once you learn which key corresponds to which colour. Good pace of the increase in difficulty. Some sound effects would make it better, as mentioned by others.
@tj101010 Thanks for the review and kind words.
@red-iron Thanks :).
@aguahervida Thanks! Ill look into Bosca Ceoil, I didn't want to try to learn a new program in such a short time frame though. I was thinking about adding some particle effects and I definitely will when I polish the game after LD.
@freezedice Thanks. I'll consider a low poly design when i polish the game.
@wejna Thanks. Yes I'll definitely be adding sound effects when I polish the game. I have heard that the controls are a bit tricky at first. I think Ill change the controls so that you press 1 button to change between the colors, similar to how you rotate a shape in Tetris.
Holy hell this game is fun. I did not want to stop playing it. The gameplay was simple and once I got used to it the controls worked out well. Would love to see this developed further =)
@tony-redmer Thanks, that means a lot :)
My high score: 15213
Liked the game! It took me a while to figure it out but it was actually fun to figure out how it works, with the tiles disappearing every time you miss the match. The tile you needs to match also moves just before the turn giving you a bit more time to get ready with the key to press, making the game a bit more predictable and fun. Also really nice touch that you mapped the colors to keys that kind of made sense (R=red, W=white, Q=cyan, E=yellow). Once I figured that out, it made the game much easier, so I really felt like I was gaining skill!
Now some things I didn't like: 1) For some reason the Q button (for cyan) wasn't 100% responsive for me - many times I pressed Q and it did not respond by changing the color. No idea why. 1) The game only becomes harder once you start losing. Because I got so good at the game once I figured out the tricks with the mnemonics and the pieces moving, I was playing for quite a while without losing any rectangles and the game continued at very slow and easy speed. Would be nice if as you gain more points the game would get harder/faster even if you don't miss a match. Also would be nice if there was a clear goal (e.g., - get to 15,000 points) so I would feel more motivated to continue.
In any case, really enjoyed your entry! Thank you for submitting!
@matank Thanks for the review. Im glad you enjoyed it. I like that idea of increasing difficulty based on how accurate you are, good suggestion. I'll look into the responsiveness of the keys. I think when i polish the game Ill add achievements or rewards for getting to a certain score, like 15,000.
Thanks.
Smooth graphics and gameplay. It was a simple idea but I enjoyed myself. Some frantic music would help improve the experience I think.
Nice game mechanic, cool entry! Good luck for the dev ;)
Interesting game! It took me some time to understand what I was supposed to do but I managed to score a few points in the end. the colors could perhaps be made a bit "bigger" to clearly show which one the player is supposed to choose(that is, make the squares be more colored rather than black and colored around the edges), the choise of colors should perhaps also be a bit more diverse, white and cyan for example appeared similar to me. A better choise would, in my opinion, be: red, green, blue and white where the colors differ in contrast(although the red and yellow colors work well as is).
@shakedimus Thanks. I think music is a great idea and Ill add it when i polish the game more.
@mowztouch Thanks.
@wildcard Ill consider making the colors more clear. I did expect that knowing which tile you are placing on would be confusing at first because of the camera angles but I didnt expect the colors to be unclear, so thank you for the feedback!
Interesting concept! Could easily be expanded into an addicting experience. Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 0:49 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299401837
