i love the music and the idea. However, it's hard to control the character after a while. The player character can get stuck between the spawned obstacles too.
Pretty nice shoot-em-up game.
I like the take on the theme! A little odd though that once you lose you can't restart within the same session.
Fun game! Fun use of the theme too. Wish enemies were introduced slower, sometimes it felt as if hoards of new foes would appear and I have to figure out how 3 of them work at the same time.
Castle Custodian is a great name for a game =P. The art and audio really added to the atmosphere on this one.
The spawn walls on miss mechanic is interesting, but it can be a little frustrating for the player. I enjoyed walling off enemies until I realized I was running out of level. I'm sure this is by design, but it's a very unforgiving mechanic!

@cbenoit What do you mean by "can't restart within the same session?" Does the "Try Again" button not work on your computer?
Great overall idea - enjoyed the first 2-3 levels quite a lot. Unfortunately the character gets stuck after that in most cases. But with a little fine-tuning gameplay could be improved. Very creative opponents by the way. Congrats on your submission and good luck!
I thought the wall popping up when you miss shots was a nice idea. The collision was a bit messy at times but it's still a nice game.
Seems interesting but seems to feel laggy on the web.
Decent bullet-hell style game. My only complaint is the fireball hitboxes seem a bit large. I was hitting walls when I thought I shouldn't be.
@darkguardsman What browser are you using that it lags in? Are you playing in fullscreen? I'm not sure why, but it does tend to lag in Chrome fullscreen.
@ectucker1 Using chrome but didn't full screen.
@ectucker1 huh, when I play through it again I see the game over screen. Before my screen just went black other than the HP and wave UI when I lost.

Fun bullet-hell type of game! Graphics and audio are cool. They set the correct mood very well. The concept fits the theme perfectly. After trying it many times, I still didn't manage to win. Character controlling was a bit difficult. The character got stuck in the walls pretty often.
Anyways, the game is good and it is fun to play! Nice entry!
Nice game, got carried shooting fireballs for every enemy I got stuck really fast.
Great game, the first one in this LD I was gripped by and completed (10 HP left :) Like the audio and visuals too. I only think it would have been better if it was known where an enemy would next spawn, even if only for a moment, since without it I had them spawn right next to me not giving me any time to avoid their next projectile.

Game is pretty fun, graphics are solid and audio is good, kind of hard to play on a laptop though, which is probably my fault
it had a few bugs but overall a very fun game - really liked the concept - i could not move between seperated tiles making it impossible to finish a level - thanks for making this
This was a brilliant idea for a unique take on a bullet hell. I like the idea that you cant get crazy just blasting at everything because of the wall damage mechanic.
this game is one of my favorites - it is really rewarding to kill the ghosts, and i feel like a badass everytime i dodge out of a flurry of attacks. Well done!
The only bug that i noticed is that you can't go through a gap of width 1, as other pointed out.
Also, i don't know it this was intentional, but I noticed that the enemies would spawn in clusters, making it difficult to keep track of how many bullets you already fired. That added a layer of difficulty that wouldn't have been present otherwise.
Graphics, sounds & music all very well done! The gameplay was easy to learn and everything seemed to work. I liked the fact that instead of spamming fireballs everywhere you had to be careful not to wall yourself in!
