Nice entry! I liked the concept, memory game + killing zombies is a nice fantasy work. Also the piano background was nice.
Thanks for your work!

Thanks for your work!
Maybe its just my computer/internet but the game remained at a black screen! Maybe provide a .exe download too or check it out? I'll check again tmrw, perhaps its me.
EDIT: Never mind it loaded ;p
This is a really nice mashup of genres. The matches giving your credits is genius! I love the music and sound effects. They are very appropriate for the zombie theme and create nice suspense and feel.
I would consider making the zombies stand out from the rest of the scene more. Since they don't move very fast, it is hard to tell when they move, because they are green like the trees and blend in a bit out of my peripheral vision.
The jump is not very forgiving, but that just adds to the difficulty :)
At some point in wave 2, the zombies stopped spawning, so I was uncontested while flipping cards. This might be a bug you should look into.
If you develop this further, I think it would be rad to have super detailed and stylized concept art of gross zombies on all the cards :)
Well done!
Ooh this was a fun one. Memory x zombie survival ;)
I'll be honest my first play through I didn't move at all and i only shot one bullet xd The next time I was more prudent, and lasted almost enough to clear the board. However, Upon turning over one of the lose all credit zombie cards, the game froze and didn't resume again, which might be my computer again xd
All in all fun little game.
Nice work dude! Solid entry.
I think I hit a bug though. I beat wave one then half way thorough wave two the zombies stopped spawning. I was relieved because it was getting pretty close.
I like the split thinking you have to do, keeping an eye on your position while still calmly solving puzzles. Nice work on the sound effects/music. Also the UI felt very slick and responsive to use.
Honestly I can't think of what more this game needs, seemed pretty complete. Good work!
@jackrugile @Kataware @Joe-Zabriskie Thanks for playing! I can't believe those bugs slipped through but I was really pressed for time. They are now patched! Much love
@jackrugile Thanks for the feedback! I agree the zombies should stand out more. I'm definitely considering developing this further after I finish my current project. I wanted to add different kinds of zombies, weapons, animations, scrolling level, etc. but the time crunch was real haha thanks again!
Snap with zombies.... nice! Struggled to work with the resolution I have but good non the less :) Thanks for the game ;)
For people struggling with resolution, I just clicked in the dark fullscreen icon and worked. The built-in unity icon don't.
@mattpattie2 @felipe-guimaraes Thanks for playing! I built for 1080p but perhaps I should lower it. Itch.io was putting a fullscreen button over top of the Unity one which was causing problems. I just disabled it.
Great game! I really liked the idea and the increasing difficulty was well balanced ^^ good job.
whoa.. a nice simple game, I love the idea and the gameplay is fun. Nice work!
Definitely should include a note to tell people to play it in full screen. Other than that it's a fun simple gamer. I bet my friends kids would love it!! Feel free to try our first entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/infinite-typer
Nice concept and fits the theme very well. Good job!
@drskort @amazura @theamazingb @cd-fred Thanks I appreciate you all checking it out! :) I'll play your games tonight when I get home from the gym. Much love!
I like the concept a lot, it plays very well, and its a challenge as the waves go on. Good Stuff!
I like that you make splitting focus a core element of the game. It's simple, but each minigame becomes much more difficult because of the other one which improves the whole project overall. The music is nice too. I do wish that jumping was more helpful. I often found it hard to jump over the zombies. I wanted it to be much easier to handle when my focus was on the jumping/shooting game. Also, the purchasing ammo mechanic was not clear at the beginning so I died the first time without ever realizing that I could shoot at all. Once I figured it out I had fun, though.
Fun game! I think you mixed the two genres really well, and the stolen credits/ammo card was a nice touch. By the third wave they were coming pretty fast and my memory got pretty crappy lol. Great job!
I seem to be unable to ever get ammo. Ever. Anyway, good job! I love the idea, and the genres mixed quite well! I like the audio, and the gameplay is quite interesting. I do think the graphics in the survival portion could use some work (why not make it 2D? You already have all the movement and stuff in 2D, so why not just display it that way?), and the fact that I NEVER got any ammo was an issue.
Good job, and good luck!
@yubs @bryceltaylor @team-infernus @notpresident35 thanks for playing!
@notpresident35 I went with 3D because I find it easier to work worth (I'm terrible at drawing) and I was planning to make the models more polished with animation but I ran out of time. Ammo is purchased using credits you earn from matching cards. I should have included instructions/controls in game but I was so rushed I thought about it after the fact. Definitely noted for next time!
Funny game. I found the idea great to mix these genres. The backgroundmusic is creepy but matching the theme. But it would help to get some short introduction at beginning. The difficulty of this game is hard but after some tries it's ok. At first I do not checked that i need to buy the ammo. Awesome game!
Great mix of genres, and really enjoyed playing it, really great work!
It took me a few tries until I understood what I was supposed to do. This is pretty interesting though! I like the concept, and I think you used the theme well.
Fun game! I expected it to be lot harder to manage movement and card-picking, but I got the hang of it pretty fast.
Fun, SImple, great idea fot the theme for this Ludum dare. This was really niclely done and i had lots of fun playing. Good Job
Had a lot of fun with this, I agree with what someone said up above, perhaps if you made the zombies stand out a bit more. Other than that its a great mashup and well executed. Good job :)
Very well done! Died on my first try cause I thought certain color combos = ammo, didn't even see the button on the right of the screen. Very fun and a good execution of the theme.
A simple, fun game. Great mix of memory and shooter. It would be neat to see some platformer elements as well. The best parts of the game are when you're scrambling to avoid the zombies, causing you to repeatedly forget the cards even if there are only 6 left :P.
@timco @doswosh @dib @lectvs @emery @shaw @raphiell @videodog thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback!
Tried webgl on chrome. I did not see any cards :/ screen remained mainly black. Upper portion was very grey. I could walk but I could not shoot. :( Unfortunately I cannot rate this as I feel that would be solely based on text/images on this ldjam page.
@jamfella I'm sorry you experienced that issue! I don't use chrome but I just installed it and the game played fine for me. I'm not sure what the issue is in this case. Thanks for checking it out regardless!
I'll try again with another browser.
Alright, now it worked just fine. This is brilliant entry! Very, very intense experience.
I somehow felt some of the nasty cards were too nasty. It was difficult enough to get ammo. Would be nice maybe instead of buying, you could see icons of "ammo" or "health". And you'd need to combine those together. "Find 2 ammo cards". Or maybe there could be so that if you pick wrong card, one of the card vanishes (just an idea).
I think stealing my credits was something I have no control over, making this just chaotic - I lose all my progress, and all my strategy (memorized position of cards). Of course zombies could have more hitpoints, there could be different ammo types, different weapons, and boosts...
I would not allow infinite jumping,. or maybe so that "jumping" would require finding "jumping cards" and thus you would have "1 jump" that you can take. And in that case jumping should be "easy" and it should jump so high that you can easily go there.
I feel this might be great in "ipad" where you can tap on screen. Now I had to try memorize arrow keys and use mouse to flip cards.
Oh and one more thing: Instead of stealing credit/randomizing cards, I would maybe add cards like "zombie recovers" or "more zombies appear" when drawing certain card.
Overall: The concept is very clever. I think the design is solid. Very good entry. From gameplay perspective this is so far maybe the tighest/most tactical I've seen in ldjam41 (that boxing game where you glue dude's eyes is really solid entry as well :D)
@jamfella Thanks for checking it out again and for the detailed feedback! There are some great ideas in your response there. I agree with a lot of your suggestions and I'll keep them in mind if/when I decide to flesh the game out more. I had more variety planned but ran out of time and had to scale back a lot. This was my first game jam so I figure next time around I'll have a better idea of what I can accomplish in the time-frame. Your game is great by the way it was one of the most original I've tried in this jam. Respect!
First jam entry? Very well executed then! :) Yes, scope is a huge problem for every single ldjam entry. Gotta cut limbs... I mean features.
Thanks for checking my game.
Neat game dude! ^-^ I tried it out and you guys definitely get bonus points from me for a web plugin instead of download. Love the user friendliness! One thing though, i couldn't figure out how to shoot, i know it sais left shift but it didn't work for me for some reason. I tried different keyboard layouts as well, both Qwerty and Azerty, left shift doesn't seem to do anything for me i'm afraid. Cool effort none the less though! I feel like it fits the theme nicely and it's a difficult multy-tasker as well.
@utho thanks for playing! You need to buy ammo with the credits you earn from matching cards. In my rush to make the deadline I forgot to include in-game instructions and I notice a lot of people aren't seeing it under the game description haha. I'd like to add it but I think that's against the rules of the jam.
@Balance686 Ohhhh, right! Omg... That went completely over my head :'D I figured you had to have some base ammo to start with so my controls were messed up, but now i totally get it! I played it again and it works, really hard game but super neat.
I thought this was a good combination of genres, nice job!
Very nice idee, i think the credit is useless, and directly get ammo, but the game is cool, nice one :)
This was surprisingly engaging :)
@jchaplin @feel @jyrms Thanks for playing!
Clever game. With the punishment card in the mix, I found the best strat is to find those first (always 2 of them) or spend ammo as soon as you can.
@otso-turpeinen Thanks! Good call on the strat. I was originally planning to increase the amount of zombie cards as the waves progress but since they really bone you I left it at 2. I just finished playing your game - really enjoyed it!
The mix of the two genres worked out quite well. I felt that the delay in picking new cards was a bit too long, but it was fun anyway.
@team-yarn Thanks for playing and also for the feedback! The delay is definitely something that could be tweaked.
Good job! Cool game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

@Balance686 I thoroughly enjoyed your game! I felt it was a great combination of genres that you made work well together. Great design overall and I hope you take it further to complete your overall vision of the game. DotD had a tense feel to it each time I played because of the way you have to keep an eye on both aspects (running/shooting zombies and trying to match cards). The game was fun to play, excellent work!
@cristiano-m-garcia @josh-lilly Thanks for playing!
I played this a lot longer than I thought I would. I would love to see more content too! My advice is to balance this a little to be easier and faster at first, then make it get harder and harder as you go. And also add more weapons and maybe traps, just more content in general. Nice work!
@chadrbanks Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I definitely plan to come back to this game after I wrap up my current project. Lots I want to add!
