Really cool idea. The poison mechanic is cool, but slowly drove me mad - before it even registered that the letter was poison, I'd already be reading further ahead in the word so would miss it almost every time.
Slowing down helped me catch it, but that felt a bit weird in a typing game.
I'd love to see what you had in mind for the roguelike elements - but as you say, such is Jam.

Fun game. I liked how you managed to make more out of a typing game with the keyboard lag and the missing letters
This is a really cool game! You really nailed the atmosphere (and yeah, I know that's a weird thing to say about a typing game). The mechanics of the game are also quite neat: the spinning letters and hidden letters were an interesting challenge.
Nice idea

Cool concept. after I finished the first "real" run, I clicked "done", and it brought me to a text but there was no cursor, there was nothing I could do. The music is fine, but it gets annoying, I think it would work better with more ambient music, or no music at all, and more use of sound effects, it would help the player concentrate better. Overall good job and good luck in the future.

Hahaha, this was really cool and funny. The poison was so so annoying for me, cause I was always typing quite quickly so the almost always got me in the beginning.

The mood the dialogue gives off is cool and made the game really compelling, which is super impressive in a typing game. The design is simple but works and I liked the music a lot too. The only problem I have is that sometimes after closing the shop the level wouldn't restart, meaning I had to reboot the game and redo the tutorials to get back to another run. Despite that this is a really great entry!

Nevet thought typing game could be so much fun! Will done![run out of backspaces]
A promising concept, very creative, the typing me2chanic works well. I liked the audio too, if you didn't e[]clude Audio from your ratings, I would have giv3en you a good score 🙂. After the first time I tried Tipio's challenge the tex8t was very close to the top of the window, so i.t was k[]nd of hard to read the text. Good jo... TIMES UP
@rjhelms @Tygrak Yeah, the poison idea didn't turn out as smooth as it seemed in my head. It ends up making you want to slow down, which is counter-intuitive to having a timer, I felt. Thanks for the feedback!
@xmatos @benskca Thanks! And yeah, the menus are definitely broken. The code behind them is messy beyond belief. I hate making/coding menus.
@johnnyjw @trivial171 @theBOSS12 @Pecolyte @RAC-Games thasnk y ou! Glud you enjayed!

Lovely combination. Hard but fun. No cons except for when it bugged after I continued from the shop. The ratio? maybe got funky and the first sentence ended up behind the border.

Cool game, well executed. Very hard. I really didn't like the poison letters - I could handle everything else. I got better at them as it went on, but still very tricky. Music was cool, and dialogue was funny. Nice work.

Nice work, getting the atmosphere to actually work for a typing game isn't easy. The music fit the theme and was noticeable without getting annoying.
Mechanics are really creative with the poison and bonus. I agree with the general consensus that the poison mechanic could use some changes but the overall concept of the trap letter changing is one I'd never heard or thought of. Likewise guessing the letter makes for a fun language game.
For stuff to improve, my biggest thing would be the shift key. It's standard to have the first letter be caps but if you're not going to do that I'd just make the casing irrelevant rather than having uppercase be wrong.

This was fun!Buuut I was not very good at it haha. Great job though, very creative!
@GenTel You didn't have to hold the shift key down, that was just a poor choice of font on my end. You only needed to shift key to type '?'
@dob @GenTel @Nessa Thank you for your kind words. I happy now.

@NedStormFish I mean the other way around - like if I type a capital letter you can have it just interpret it as lower case and not mark it incorrect. That way the habit from other typing games and general English typing won't make you get misses for capitalizing the first letter of sentences and such.

Nice combination. Fun script. Trap letters are very hard to notice once you gain a typing rythm.

Very nice typing game! You had a solid idea here. A lot of the mechanics would need to be refined (as a lot of others have pointed out) but with work it could become a genuinely good game.
You're already aware of the issues with capital letters in your game, but I want to delve into it a bit anyway since I also made a typing game and made a similar mistake. It's important to think about what players will naturally want to do while playing your game, and make sure your game accommodates it properly. In this case, it's handling capital letters: typists will instinctively capitalize letters at the start of sentences. A few possible solutions: - Differentiate upper and lower case letters in the font. In your game, everything is capitalized, but only accepts lower case input. If the font makes it clear that the text is lower case, it would be less jarring to the player if they try to enter upper case letters and fail. They'll quickly learn that the lower case font actually matters, and it will come naturally since the text itself is lower case. - Accept both upper and lower case letters. Unlike the above solution which would gently remind the player to enter only lower case letters, this solution opts to skirt the problem entirely. Much easier to implement, but might not be ideal for a typing game.
really fun typing game. realised i cant type well, have been using autocorrect for too long. good effort for the tutorials

Really awesome game, I liked the dialogue and humor. The trap characters are seriously evil, it took me a bit too long to figure out how they worked and the input lag poison is straight up frustrating! (in a good way). I really loved the idea!

Really cool game. Loved the idea and execution. The little mechanics like poison and hidden letters gave the game charm. Great job :)
Funny game! Were you inspired by Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing? :P The guess letters, trap letters, and spinning letters made it silly and fun. Like others, I think the trap letters came up too soon; maybe if they came up further in advance, and weren't only visible as you typed the letter before it. Other than that, well done, I bet the roguelike aspects would be cool if you had time.
@KScorp Yeah, by the time I realized my poor font choice, I was already too deep. @nervous-composers @Morg @machrom Thanks all! @patrickgh3 You bet. Cooldog teaches typing is another nice one.
