I really liked the presentation here, the menus are sleek and simple, and the game has a very clean minimalist feel to it.

This low poly design looks really nice, good job.

It's made with unity, why no WebGL version?

drzanuff 2017-12-05 03:12

The art is great! The low poly is well made, congrats!

illabom 2017-12-05 04:13

Wow I am so impressed by this game. The look is very clean and polished and the game play is fun and challenging. The model look great and the sound is equally as pleasing. Amazing Job you guys!

I'm a sucker for first-person shooters, especially those with a clean aesthetic like this one. Would love to see a game like this expanded in the future!

Fantastic little game! Graphically stunning and surprisingly polished for the timeframe. Great work!!

jjjjason 2017-12-24 05:11

I've never made an FPS before so I don't know how difficult they are to make, but this seems like a surprising amount of content for 72 hours, so good on that.

People have already commented on the low poly, white and faded plus flat bold colors graphics and they indeed look very cool. The audio is also pretty minimal, but I think that's to a detriment--it's sort of difficult to accurately tell when you've hit something or when you've been hit since there isn't a ton of feedback. I also think there could be more towards the theme, since "the game gets harder the longer you play it" is a pretty common mechanic even outside of this LD.

Controls feel very good! I'm not sure if it was on purpose, but I enjoy how I can infinitely air strafe around, and shooting feels precise enough. I also do like the scattered crates around the base--took me a while to realize that they could successfully be used as cover.

That's a really polished game you guys have there! Great graphics, and the game ran nice and smooth~ Still, it was rather difficult to see the theme in this; it doesn't seem that score affects the difficulty, just killing the planes spawns bigger, stronger ones in their place. Also, the enemies don't seem to target the silo at all. Other than that, a really neat game, well done!

stratoskakalis 2017-12-26 13:31

Such a pity more people didnt play this game, it really is a great submission! I tried it on my laptop and I'm probably going to later install it on my desktop to play a bit more and I am a very hard to please gamer, I guess i have a soft-spot for FPS though :/. Please do advertise and get people to play your game in the little time left. it is a pity for your work to go unnoticed especially if you dont get ranked because that way you get actual feedback from the testers. Good luck! (Edit: you are probably interested to know that there is a UI glitch -health of the planes- when i aim with the sniper-looking gun)

furiouswitch 2017-12-26 14:06

Great work you did there guys :) To be honest, I'm not great in this kind of games (FPS) so I kinda failed miserably over and over. So maybe its too difficult or maybe it's just me. Maybe you can add different levels of difficulty so that it suits everyone.

Regardless, the game looks fantastic, the sound effects are decent, and the gameplay itself is great. Congratulations :)

Really nice graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_cfsd64xFk

Impressive job guys The game looks very polished, the menus, signs and feedbacks for the UI, everything's looking great and is user friendly. The graphics are impressive and you really were able to create a coherent universe, the models had the same graphic style etc, well done The gameplay works fine too, it's a simple shooting mechanic but still you have diffrent types of weapons that make it diverse The only problem I had was whis the reaload mechanic, I assumed it was "R" to reaload but it seems like reloading isn't immediate, so I thought pressing R wasn't doing anything at first You did well, congrats again =)

julianeder33 2017-12-26 18:11

Nice Game. The amount of assets and features is pretty impressive for a LD game.

moski 2017-12-26 18:21

Well, that's one great looking entry you got there. Fantastic graphics, presentation and a very smooth control scheme (auto reloading would have been appreciated, but otherwise, it all still fills great, rather than stiff).

I like the variety of enemies and that there's some difference between the weapons. I particularly liked the sniper, and was impressed that it actually had a scope function. Just fantastic. A bit off that these are the weapons of choice to fight against planes, bombers and zeppelins, but I'll take it.

Themewise... well, it's just generic "difficulty ramps up" gameplay. Wouldn't say it's the best use of the theme. You might as well just ignore it and focus on showing off the game for what it is. An objective defense scenario with multiple guns against an unstoppable airstrike.

Great job there. [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) wishes you the best for your future projects! Cheers! :whale:

niterich 2017-12-26 18:23

I really like the visuals and all the little touches that make the game seem extra fresh. I found it to be a bit too difficult, especially since you move fairly slow and there's little to no cover (I guess I forgot the sprint button somehow...).

sgadrat 2017-12-26 18:47

Seeing the stunning visuals, I did not expect such an "arcadey" gameplay, this is definitely a good surprise. It is interesting how you are supposed to protect the silo, but enemies firing at you, you actually run for your life =)

ted 2017-12-26 19:26

I was ready to put a quarter in for another go. :D Great arcade feel. Echoing others, the presentation is fantastic and the gameplay is smooth, if rather predictable. Adding some variety through physical points that restore health, refill ammo, and allow you to "fix" the silo would add a mad dash to the mix.

devmax 2017-12-26 21:18

Nicely done and well detailed for the time-frame given. As far as suggestions I think as others mentioned visual cues will help, to know where the planes are. Also is it just me or is weapon 3 and 4 the same?

gerox 2017-12-27 03:10

It is a good game, but weapons 3 and 4 look like the same weapon

teammonumental 2017-12-27 04:29

@devmax @gerox I believe the message at the beginning said 4 guns but there are only 3 in the game.

knarf 2017-12-27 14:10

Interesting idea, I liked a lot the visuals ! I wish the weapons were a little bit more accurate and fast to reload, as i ended using only the machinegun as it feels really much powerful for me. I'm not really doing it well though as i can't beat the second wave after the zeplin, and can't beat my score of 400 :) great job ! Cheers !
