I liked the scaring and going up and down stairs animations, pretty slick.

I liked the scaring and going up and down stairs animations, pretty slick.
Controls feel a bit cluncky, weird delays and interuptions. Not clear from the start how to descend stairs (can't get back to the top of the stairs but having to stand in front of the next stairs)
@tristanf
Thanks for the feedback! We had some difficulty with the stairs in particular. It's certainly something we'll revisit if we continue working on the game!
For only 48 a very solid game. Very nice sound, 3d models and overall feeling, except frame rate, mine was very low.
@Dumivid
Thank you for the feedback, and trying our game! May I ask what OS you were running it on? We'll take a look at optimizing the game's frame rate if we continue working on the game after LDjam ends.
Cheers!
What a fun little game! The premise is quite unique, I just wish it controlled a little bit better. But nice job, either way!
@royale-with-steez Windows 7.
This is a really cool concept, and nicely executed, too. One thing I would change is to get rid of the initial scene where you can see where the ghosts go, and instead just show subtle hints of which objects are haunted. Because right now, it's mostly a question of memorizing where you saw the ghosts go.
Wow that looks great. I really like the Animations to move up and down the stairs, that was a lot of work I guess.
@Wakka2 It was a solid couple hours of slamming my head on a desk while the rig kept breaking after every keyframe. Thanks for the feedback though, means a lot!
Post game notes: Make elevator instead of stairs next time :P
Ah this is a lot of fun!! I love the end illustrations, really fun concept & great designs! The artwork for the game itself is also really clean and fun. Although, while I was playing the web version, it seemed like the game was constantly blurred out? I didn't think this was a stylistic choice so I thought I should mention it. I loved the scaring animation and the sound effects. Awesome job, really really clean game especially considering the time frame. awesome work!!
Great visuals and audio! Really good work getting full 3D characters made and animated in that time. The theme is fun and unique too, and the gameplay complemented it well.
Nice Soundtrack and also a nice idea coerent to the Theme. Unfortunately the player mesh collide with the stairs and the command are not responsive. I really liked the description of the game :blush:
The illustrations are remarkable, I liked the gameplay however the sound effects are a bit clumsy
Really nice to see a game featuring a real-estate agent in the lead role! ;) Also, the presentation you did for this game is stellar! The whole page here looks well prepared and has a nice finish! There's a few quirks with the gameplay though as others have already mentioned. There's a delay between the shout and the actual animation that breaks the immersion somewhat. Maybe you could shorten the clip or delay the audio slightly? The shaking doesn't care about ghosts "in progress", so if you start making one go away and it's visible, the object behind can start shaking (even though the ghost is not still inside). The stairs have a steep learning curve, I found that the best way to descend was to go in front of them and use Arrow Down. A bit unclear, but once you figure it out it's easy to use!
Overall it's a fun idea, and I'd love to see more like this. Perhaps expand it to cover some more houses and implement a way to use the $ you earn? I'm a bit puzzled over why the amount of sellers affect the winnings, but hey, you gave me the power to spook so I can't complain about that! ;D
If you have some spare time, I would really love it if you would spare a few minutes to check our game out and leave a comment about what you thought was good or bad about it and how we can improve for our next jam. It might not be as spooky as yours, but we're easily scared! ;) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/paperwork/
Great work! The illustrations brings you to the mood perfectly, and the design is really good. On the first playthrough I wanted to go downstairs and I couldn't make it work because of the controls, it felt a little clumsy, but the rest of the level works good :)
The game idea is pretty nice, but I got stuck at the attic and couldn't make my way downstairs again! Also the model collides with other objects very simple and gets stucked in them. Although, I like the game idea!
From a gameplay perspective it would be nice with some incentive to not just spook all the time. As it is now you can just run around and spam the spook button and it works pretty good. This is of course dependent on what you are supposed to do... is it a memory game (from what you see in the initial scene) or a look-for-clues type of game? For the former there should really be some penalty for spooking incorrectly. Also the controls were a bit unresponsive.
In any case, I like the idea and connection to the theme.
@Nivbeth You should be able to go downstairs by standing in front of the stairs (unintuitive, I know! Sorry!)
@Shimmen That's a good thought. We decided that the time spent spooking unhaunted objects was penalty enough, but perhaps we need to shorten the round-time.
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice mood in your game, felt very spooky. I also really liked the look of the 2D art and drawings of the guy you have, those are super cool. Had some issues with controls, getting around took some getting used to. I liked the scene at the end that showed you which ghosts you had missed and gotten.
Nice game, there are so many assets and two 3D animated characters, so one can see that you've put a lot of work on it. On the other side, control is not very accurate, but it doesn't make the game unplayable. Very good 2D art, also.
And thanks for the comment on our entry, mate. Glad you liked it :)
Great game! Very creative. You'd made a good use of design to show us where the ghosts are, and this made a lot of differences. What I think you guys should improve is the timing of the animation when the character is going up / down to the ladders. The animation is kinda slow and glitchy. But this is okay, not a big problem, just a note. And I wanna give you a suggestion: Why not put some point and click elements? : D Again: Great entry! : D
First things first: Web-Version didn't work for me in Chrome,FireFox or Edge. It said that WebGL 2.0 is not supported.. After downloading it worked fine though :) Ghosts are a great idea! Nice work! I would have some suggestions though: * The time should be displayed bigger so that it gets noticed more easily * Maybe turn it red to the end * Maybe make it more clear how the highscore (money) you get is being calculated
Greetings!
Very nicely done. Good overall vibe and I loved the after-game inspection phase to check your result. Nice modelling too!
Interesting game with a different mechanic. Congratulations.
Jogo interessante com uma mecânica diferente. Parabéns. :flag_br:
I love the artwork here, the 2d artwork is fantastic and I love the 3d cut-away house. Took me a bit to figure out how to scare the ghosts, but once I did it was fun to do. Great entry!
A very fun idea, and a very fun game to play. The music and especially the graphics was really good. There are some bugs, but they was not too bad. Overall a well made game. Well done.
Nice game, animations are hilarious, Nice music too. sometimes screaming jsut don't work, is it a bug or feature? :P Anyway, thanks, I made 1.100.000 on my first sale XD
A funny game. I like the way the ghosts are spooked away by the man ^^
Absolutely charming 2D art, as others have mentioned main gripes involved the controls (going up/down stairs could have been more intuitive), but overall I enjoyed it.. I mean, screaming at ghosts? .. It is good :D
Amazing and funny game. I think the scaring animation takes a little too long to complete so the game feels a bit unresponsive. Other than that, the game is really good.
Well Done, nice game :)
Super funny idea, and the art takes it to the next level, like it's something serious, amazing. :D
I love the humour in this game! Reminds me of a reverse Haunt the House. It's impressive how much work you got done! I think this is one of the biggest games I've seen at this jam! My only complaints are that the controls feel a bit slippery and that the music (though very fitting) doesn't seem to loop properly.
This is a very interesting story in this game, which is why I initially prefer and in our world real estate carefully selected, so that then just live there quietly =) I wanted to rent a property for the long term, but didn’t even know where to go for these cases and who could help with that. Because I had just arrived in town and it was already very difficult to find someone. I decided to search through the reviews, so I know for sure that people who have already gone there were doing well. I found a very good portal with reviews about [morgan properties](https://morgan-properties.pissedconsumer.com/review.html) , I highly recommend reading about it as much as possible in detail. I am sure it will be helpful!
