Simple and good game. I don't exactly know what the experience is for in the game, does it increase the damage? And after a while there was no light spawned around so I ran out of energy and game started again.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD39 → The Berserker

Got the game to run just fine here with the new files! I found the hit detection on my dashes were a little bit off, it was hard to tell when I was going to do damage or not, and I would have loved some more feedback (maybe from audio) about when I was taking damage or hurting enemies. That said though, I like the random enemies and the ramping difficulty of them, cool to see the game scale up with you. Thanks for making this!
Thank for playing ^^
Really fun, achieved the 'shooter trance' state. Would be a really cool combat system if there was an environment to beat those sugar cubes down in.
The mechanics are solid, it's a fun melee twinstick kind of game! I can tell you ran out of time for content, which is pretty standard for compo. Has potential and it was fun even as is!
I am grateful this is a melee game rather than a typical shooter, there's a lot more thought in the gameplay as a result, especially since you gave us defensive options as well. It's fun trying to space yourself perfectly in a crowd of lights.
Happy you got the bug fixed, really liked the dash mechanic! Would love to see you go further with it. I think it might benefit from graphics that are easier to read though.
Good work! :)
The player model is well-made!
It's a neat game, I do like the aesthetic, and it's reasonably clear what is going on in the gameplay. Would like to see more complexity though.
I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163569305 - Timestamp 1:40:55
Liked the game, took me a while to learn that the dash also gave damage (love the dash btw). The game is fun, got desperate when I saw how low damage I gave to an enemy with 150 health haha. Overall it was good. A little bit of feedback for the normal attack would have been nice. Keep it up
This was a fair game that I just didn't think fit the theme in a way that I could understand. The loss of health seemed to be what you were going for, but that seems rather arbitraty. Why are we losing health? What is that other bar for? I quickly found that dashing seemed to do nothing, other than get me hit by the enemy. I think this game would work with some story and some variation. I liked the visual effects, though, and I can see this as a good start for something!
I preferred to just dash everywhere! Made the game feel fast paced! I enjoyed the grunge-like visuals! I can agree this game would need some sort of background story! Maybe visuals for when you gain experience + health upgrade. I also felt that left click didn't do anything?
The game is simple but enterteining. I really like the graphics, they have some mystery to them. I just wish there were some sound to support it.
When I opened the game, I don't know what I should be doing. Then the format of the UI and the top-down view felt something, so it was an excuse to start to the gameplay right away rather than a menu.
But anyway, it was fun to play around and kill enemies. The controls are alright, worked very well. Graphics are inconsistent though, but still decent for a different art style.
Actualy the reason of existance for both right and left click (normal attack and dash) is to allow 2 different playstyle to be ok Dash allow faster gamepace , more risky and more efficency playstyle While normal attack allow slower and safe playstyle
- To be honest i really enjoyed playing game for like 5 minutes but then i was like immortal and i never died my scored keeps on incresing and also enemy was not dieing fast - very good gameplay - if there cound be any background music then it would be really joy to play - nice graphics -overall a good game
I love mood and graphics of the game. I didn't understand what bars mean, and I think there is some problem with balancing, because I became godlike, after minute or two. Congrats!
It's solid gameplay, but the only risk of death is selecting too strong of an enemy to tangle with, and ending up with too little health to run and find something more your size. Would have liked some sort of game over screen with stats to brag about. Great job as a solo project, and nice title pic!
