With the art style and atmosphere, this game has a nice calm mood to it, which I enjoyed. This is also the first game I've seen using the Unreal Engine, which was a surprise. The only problem I have with it was the speed at which you could travel being very slow.

Hey, thanks for giving it a play! After voting I think I'll go back to it and add a speed powerup, I definitely feel that critique.

A superb exploration game with wonderful graphic direction. This game is a good take on the small world theme. The world is small or huge relatively to your own character.

It is really compelling to explore the different island and the puzzle are not too complicate that you get stuck and frustrated. The game, even though relaxing is well paced.

I loved playing this one, thanks a lot!

(You can see me playing this game for the first time on the vod https://youtu.be/lXUmif8KKxM?t=4h3m21s )

Yo Ghodan, I was playing the game with the Instant Replay Live guys and it seems that you can break down that one house without being big? I wasn't sure if this was something you were aware of. But besides that, I really like this game. Awesome job!

samlo 2017-05-01 17:37

Awesome style and level design

ghodan 2017-05-01 17:43

Haha, thanks @dylanilvento! I just saw that vid and even saw @Togis last night do the same. Definitely a bug, will look into it today. I liked how that turned it into a platforming puzzle navigating the small chunks of building, though. Big thank you to you, Togis! Stream was awesome, loved all the games you played! Definitely appreciate the shout-out. And thanks, @samlo! Monolith is incredible, you should be super proud.

I'm most impressed with the scope of the game. It has adventure, story, and fun puzzles in way that is very polished. I love the soft, bright color palette and the light-hearted mood it gives off. It's almost as fun watching people stream it as it is playing the game itself, haha. Really lovely game.

One of the best level designs I've ever seen in LD, most people just make small things since they don't have time. But this feels real and natural and interesting. Awesome dreamlike visuals and clearly-effortful low-poly. Packed with surprises and secrets which is unique for LD also!

iseeicy 2017-05-02 03:03

Just the adventure I needed to take part of. I saw this on Togis's stream and pretty much instantly knew that I needed to play this myself.

One of the only things I can say is that the collision detection when you grow can certainly be much better. I have no idea how you would go about doing that, but it's something that you should certainly look into.

For a ludum dare game, this entertained me for a surprisingly long time! It took me just over half an hour to find all of the treasures, and I don't regret any of it. Thanks for the great game!

Very cool and 'complete' game! I probably dig the colors and plants the best! (I mean growing is fun too and everything, but the grass is nice!)

ghust1995 2017-05-17 17:08

Please make a full game out of this with more interesting puzzles. Not sure if intended, but skipping the maze by shrinking on top of the end was by far my greatest moment in this LD, Thanks!

Although I kinda like the stylized 3d graphics in your game, but the lack of sufficient contrast made my head hurt a little. You could have also added some indication on where you can walk and where not. Took me a while to realize that I actually could climb that really steep hill in the beginning. Teleport transitions are really sudden made me bit disoriented. I really liked your concept!

chauchau 2017-05-18 15:14

The main idea here is really great. It makes me think of David O'Really's Everything. It's so cool to have different perspectives on the world. I just wished I could change scale continuously!

Awesome entry! Everything looks very polished, and I love the pastel color palette.

I only found three coins, but felt motivated by the exploration setting to try and find the last one, but had to give up in the end because I couldn't find it.

When it comes to atmosphere, your game is spot on, with the exception of the "buddy"-tone of the statue's text which I found was clashing with the general soothing atmosphere of the game a bit.

Gameplay wise, I liked how you changed the speed of the player depending on its size, but I would have preferred to have the larger modes make bigger steps so they would get faster from A to B. Maybe a more pronounced ambling animation in the camera with a slight pause between two steps would have worked well here.

Overall a very impressive entry for 48 hours.

Technically I'll have to mention that you are not allowed to add anything to the game outside of the allotted time, even if you opt out of that category. If you want make changes afterwards, please create a separate post-compo version of the game in addition to the original version and mark both accordingly. If you haven't recorded the ambient music yourself, that is also not allowed for the Compo. However, in the Jam you are free to use any external assets and you also have an extra day for adding them. You can even switch from Compo to Jam in the middle of LD if you feel time is running out for you.

Just in case you wondered why you received only a few votes: You need to rate and comment more on other games to appear higher on the games list, which in turn will increase your chances of getting exposure and thus more votes for yourself.

Wow I loved this! The graphics were awesome and the shrinking and growing mechanic was very interesting and innovative. Walking around with the biggest size feels so so good. One thing I would tweak is the overall brightness of everything. When I was just looking at the ground I felt like I am staring in the sun - so maybe change the ground to be a bit darker and the sea to be a little bit bluer - but not too much, I love the pastel colors.

I found only 3 coins but overall really enjoyed your game!

Really really well made game! Interesting concept, and nice mood/style/audio in it. The controls were mostly good but I found it really hard to know where my feet were when I was when I was large. Also while being up-scaled, the walk speed felt much too slow compared to my size. With a little more work on this, it could be a really complete nice game.

la-mecanique-du-plastique 2017-05-19 13:48

Nice, the game have a good mood and really interesting graphism. I enjoyed to play, it's relaxing, but i didn't really understand the purpose and the controls, sorry. Anyway it's really nice, bravo !

gengarskhan 2017-05-19 14:31

A really well thought out game, felt very polished (bar a few minor things). Absolutely loved the art style and the overall mood of the game was quite soothing. Well done on your entry, keep it up! 👌

cabbagecrow 2017-05-19 14:38

A really great game! The style is gorgeous. But because of the shading you don't always know what the terrain is like. I'm really fond of simplistic styles which look good. They fascinate me, that you can accomplish that much with pretty little.

But somehow shrinking and growing doesn't work for me ... :-/
