Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Hi there. Thanks for the offer. I've made it available at http://www.indiexpo.net/en/games/endeavour

Would you be able to comment here when the video is released?

I love the animation and humor, but I'm still stuck... it's the best text based game I've seen on this LD so far though!

I really like this! One of my favourites so far. I am always fond of text adventures and yours is great. Really well executed and a fair amount of depth for such a short time. You're right about the ending, did leave me scratching my head and I'm not 100% sure I fully get the connection to the theme but loving this either way. Well done and good luck!

That was a cool game! Definitely wished It could have gone for longer (I actually went through the code to make sure I didn't miss anything!)

It would be cool if 'help' would give you a list of commands you can do, instead of just a hint.

This was fun. I'm proud to admit that I passed the phantom without needing a hint!

The graphics and mood fit the game perfectly. I'm still not sure what happened, or how it fit the theme, but that's ok.

Overally pretty nice.

Not sure if this was intentional: "Only a bite to to the boot"

I absolutely love this game's mechanics. I'm sure this is how old text games back in the day must have been, but I had never experienced this myself, so this was definitely unique to me. I also love the humor in the story. Good work!

Cool! It reminds me of the times when I played in Leisure Suit Larry

Good old times :) Love the idea of text adventures with visual part. How to fight against the red scorpion?

aerohand 2016-09-01 09:38

11/10.
epic game.

squirrelbot 2016-09-01 13:03

Fun. Ending was a bit odd. Is there a way to avoid the mummy guy, or is it a mandatory ending?

eriku 2016-09-01 14:36

@Zulman: The answer is quite unintuitive! There are a few hints if you try and whip it, go east, sleep, and look. If those stump you, try "hint"!

@squirrelbot: Unfortunately it is entirely linear. But at least you can get revenge by playing the game through once more, swapping places again :P

Great idef! And execution. Thou I got stuck with the snake, I can imagine that the game is good.

avalanche-games 2016-09-02 01:48

Great idea and the vague hints helped slightly. The pixel art is nice too!

tonynogo 2016-09-03 04:24

What a nice game.
It was fun, it made me laught! Graphics are cool.
Congratulations!

sebbernery 2016-09-03 09:12

Good animations and pixel-art graphics. Fun to play thanks to the humour and the help command which can be very usefull at some points so there is no blockage in the gamethrough.

leondryaso 2016-09-03 09:23

Very nicely done, I like the particles everywhere :D Though it could be longer, I have a feeling that I missed something. The control mechanics are great.

huvaakoodia 2016-09-05 06:13

Simple, linear and funny. The twist makes sense thematically, but a mummy with a computer really doesn't.. make sense.. at all.

Nice use of regex in the command system though.
