Mate, I had a boatload of fun playing this.
Something I've never seen before in a game (moving between the different windows).
I shared this with my partner and we explored the maze together over Skype. Was really fun talking about where we'd got to and the names of places we were.
I can imagine an alternative to this game would be to have some kind of beautiful backdrop split up into the different levels and the correct arrangement of the blocks would help you navigate. You could even have it then change to indicate a new arrangement of the map.
Is there some kind of positioning of the levels that helps you? (Feel free to privately message me if you'd rather not spoil it on here https://twitter.com/alexvscoding)
How did you do the window switch thing?
Thank you very much for building this.
@AlexVsCoding Hey, thanks man! I just added a Teardown link on the game page, but here's the tl;dr.
Each game window is running a Phaser instance, and each instance is connected to Firebase with a unique username created when you click "Begin anew." I open and position the windows with javascript calls, and the x/y is determined by level ID - I just use a divisor/modulus function on my array of levels.
I briefly considered doing something like what you described - I remember that <a href = "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCz023y242Y&list=PL480F7193F3A00DDC">Sifteo cubes</a> had a game that did something cool like this. That was a little more than what my javascript knowledge had included at the time though, haha.
I really appreciate you checking it out man. Let me know if I can answer anything more for you!
This is really fun and really original. Changing focus between windows was slightly annoying. Really great job!

Haha, I like this idea. But there is NO way I'm finishing this game. I got totally lost just a few minutes in. Love the idea though.

Very creative. Its amazing how such a simple yet innovative concept could take so much of my time away!

Good stuff. Too many screens, haha. But actually though, Whyyyy so many new windows. FUN idea though.
Really cool! I've always wanted to mess around with multiple windows in a web environment and you've gone and done it!
Feels to me like the perfect Ludum Dare project. Just enough there to prove out the idea, and plenty to build on later.
I've gotta come back to this game with a bigger monitor...
Pretty trippy stuff. This is the best use of the theme I have seen yet. Really innovative.
Clever! Its cool to see all of the parts of the world at once. Really cool text art in your submission description. I thought it was a picture until I selected it copy and pasted it. Thanks for making all of this!
I really enjoyed your game, remind me a lot Proteus. It's simple, but deep. What you did with these windows is very clever.
And, that's all ! Thank you for this game !
Great interpretation of the theme! My screen space ran out and switching between the windows was a bit tedious, but it was compensated with the great sense of exploration. Simple and beautiful.

Really innovative!
I thought it was real innovative. The gam, was fun and interesting, I didn't see the them in the game though. I would have preferred not having multiple browsers open, but trying new things is something to be lauded. Great job!
Hi there. Interesting idea, but really don't like websites/games which open windows. Played for about 3 windows but didn't look like anything else would happen.

I love this game, the graphics are simple, but perfect and the concept is beyond amazing! Well done! The only issue I saw was when traveling to a window you've been to, I had to click the window to activate controls again...which was a bummer..but oh well
Interesting game but is very fast got hard to navigate with the new pop-ups every time I completed a level, yet I think that was what made it interesting as well, very cool little game :)
Please please PLEASE make a full game with this concept, not the maze part, the window part, I LOVE IT.
Very original interpretation of the theme, I have to admit. The game itself felt a little boring, though.
Ohhh another game that uses popup windows, love it!
