I think it could be a fun game, but the problem is that I'm not sure what to do (yes, I have read the readme file). The graphics are nice.

I like the idea but i have to say that it took some time for me to understand how it works. The first generated world put the planets too far from each other, i couldn't hook. Once you get that it's actually fun to play but the colonization has a strange behaviour, you don't really know when it's gonna happen. I liked the graphics, more than in the screenshot oddly, and the sound effects/music were nice :)

:D I don't even what the
Okay.

This could be a really great game, but it's very unaccessible in my opinion. I have no real overview and the planes don't do what I'm intending. I tried firing a missile with the space shuttle using the space key and it didnn't work. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Maybe a tutorial and more feedback via graphics and sound would help. I like the overall look and the sounds.

I had a lot of trouble figuring out what I was supposed to be doing. There looks to be a lot of interesting complexity underlying the game, but it was hard to follow. The movement controls were difficult to use, and combat was bewildering - I couldn't tell if missiles were mine or my enemies, or where they came out of. I think the idea of hooking to other planets and flying between them is really neat; with some streamlined controls, that could be very fun. Once that's in place, the plane changing and other stuff would be great. It's impressive how much you added in such a short time.

You should upload a gameplay video. Mac only here.

Interesting concept and use of voice acting! There seem to be a bunch of bugs...mostly, involving missiles launched from the wrong plane, and switching between plane-types is just strange, possibly not handling player /AI ownership properly.

So it could use some work, but it has potential.

The music was neat. I could tell you took recorded samples of you making sound effects and cut them together. I've been wanting to do something like that for a while now.

demonpants 2012-05-01 18:13

Could you make a Mac port please?

someone 2012-05-01 20:00

Doesn't run on Linux, and doesn't give any helpful hints as to why not.

tfendall 2012-05-03 05:28

I loved the voice acted sound effects :). It was a fun concept, but it was hard to tell which were bad and which were good missiles/ships, so I ended up dying a lot cause I couldn't tell which missiles to avoid. It probably just took some more patience to figure it out. All-in-all, a fun strategy entry into the compo.

datamosh 2012-05-03 05:51

The audio it's good! I like the graphics too. Needs a tutorial (our entry needs one too, we kind of suck at explaining stuff :P), but it's still fun!

cosmologicon 2012-05-04 04:24

Sorry I can't run this, I'm on Linux! I'm only commenting because this game comes up when I search for Linux and I need to clear it from my queue.

davidwparker 2012-05-07 18:07

Sorry, I don't have Windows so I can't play.

Looks very nice.

icefox 2012-05-10 08:46

Buggy and flaky... but also a totally rad idea. I'd love a more complete version.
