Oct 19 00:37:51 Old Man Playing Old Game ♥ 1 I had a similar idea at first! But I went a completely different direction. I love this idea lol, and you executed it pretty well given our insane time crunch. Its super gimmicky in the best way possible, I could see this being another rage game πŸ˜† Having to restart the console after falling into the abyss is frustrating AF but I suppose thats the genre for you!
Oct 19 00:42:45 4m 54s Zwillenschuss ♥ 2 I enjoy the little art style you have going on. The grass combined with the spheroid-lookin trees is pretty neat! Also, I knew I could do it. It took a second, but the target closer to the ground you can hit it by ricocheting the slingshot off the ground first lol. I love the animation of the slingshot firing! This game realllyyyy needs some sound effects though, kind of a vibe killer. Even a simple ambient music track and firing/hit sfx would help it feel much more complete Nice job!
Oct 19 01:22:49 40m 04s It's About Time for Murder ♥ 1 I don't usually like these kinds of games, but its very refreshing to see such great quality pixel art (ESPECIALLY because you didn't use AI 😀 I think the game itself was a bit confusing, but again, I don't really play these types of games almost ever. I love the little world you built and totally got lost in it for a sec!
Oct 19 01:24:34 1m 45s While the Lantern Burns ♥ 2 The graphics and sound design are fantastic. Really amazing, I can't believe you were able to create such high quality stuff in such a short amount of time! The game itself, although the concept is interesting and on theme, I think is too frustrating for me to enjoy playing haha. I would almost have preferred like, just exploring with the lantern in the awesome world you built!
Oct 19 01:27:16 2m 42s Switchpunk ♥ 2 Holy....I did the first 2 levels, stared at the third, and backed out LOL Very impressive, but I ain't goin back to digital logic class!
Oct 19 01:39:19 12m 03s Auto Chair Annihilator ♥ 1 I was like "is this a game about destroying chairs?" and then I clicked on the page and low and behold, its a game about destroying chairs. Hilarious πŸ˜‚ The pixel art graphics were nice and reminded me of Buckshot Roulette or something along those lines. The game itself was a tad boring for me, but I'm also not the biggest fan of auto-chess / idle games, so take that with a grain of salt!
Oct 19 03:28:43 1h 49m Lighthouse Operator ♥ 0 Its a very simple concept but I like the minimalist aesthetic a lot actually, and I can tell you spent time on the light for the lighthouse, nice job on that! The speed at which things happen is really slow. I think it needs a pass on spawn rates, light turn speed, light extend speed, etc.
Oct 19 03:34:56 6m 13s Pinball "Repair" SIMULATOR ♥ 0 This was really enjoyable actually! I wasn't sure how the repairing would combine with actually playing pinball, but I think it worked really well due to how fast you can actually swap camera views and spam hammer on the failing parts. I would love a few more things in the pinball machine itself, as the red bumbers and yellow sides are kind of all there is. But also for how much time we had to do the Compo, the current machine and game is very polished (you even added screen shake, which is great!) Really nice one all around here!
Oct 19 03:46:33 11m 37s Tiny Technician ♥ 1 That was fun! Took me back to computer architecture class lol. I got pretty far, but I'm not sure the score of "85%" is actually accurate, since the first time I played before the long run it also said 85% I would have loved showing the score of some kind!
Oct 19 21:29:36 17h 43m Oops! No Floor! ♥ 0 Lol honestly I had way more fun with this than i should have...it reminds me of this old N64 minigame in Kirby 64 where you try and make each other fall off by destroying the blocks underneath. The theme seems not very present to me though, is throwing snowballs the old tech?_ld_post_b.png
Oct 19 23:41:02 2h 11m NewHouseβ„’ ♥ 1 This entry was very vibey. I spent a while decorating at first and then when I realized it was also kind of this take on a post-apocalyptic scenario I liked it even more. The atmosphere was awesome! The rating system was also very interesting. And the fact things deteriorate over time was the icing on the cake. Very awesome! Here is my house, dilapidated over time haha: ld_post_c.png
Oct 19 23:47:18 6m 16s Stonepunked ♥ 1 Very complete entry! It was functional, responsive, had cohesive art, sfx, music, very nice! One thing I would say: the hit boxes feel a little bit awkward, like sometimes I was getting hit when it felt like I shouldn't. Also, gameplay wise, at first i was making sure none of the bugs made it across the screen, but then I realized it doesn't actually matter if they get across and just tried to kill the blue ones only. So maybe having you lose health if they cross the screen also? Good job on this one!! _ld_post_d.png
Oct 20 00:09:32 22m 14s Screen Dasher ♥ 2 I did it! _ld_post_e.png This was a super, super clever game. Very well done! Such an awesome idea, you should be really proud of this! There is only a few things I have for constructive feedback: 1) First playthrough I got high up in the first section, and fell right back down to the beginning...I then killed myself only to respawn....at the beginning. Lol. If intentional, that is fair, but it seems like an accident to me where you are taking the last screen you've been to as the next death checkpoint, and it sucked to lose all that progress 2) The jumping needs some love. There is a thing called "coyote time" that this game could really use, where even if you're off the floor for 0.1 seconds, it keeps the fact that you were just grounded in memory for a short period of time (ex: 0.1 sec) and still allows you to jump. The screen with all the really small circles was particularly rough in this regard Lastly, a banger soundtrack would make this go so much harder than it already does. Really great job overall!!
Oct 20 00:20:18 10m 46s Full Steam Ahead! ♥ 2 _ld_post_f.png My score isn't the best, but its honest work 😀 Its really well done overall, great job! Everything is super complete and cohesive. I would echo what TasakaSama said, my best run had nothing to do with me skillfully avoiding anything and was mostly luck because I couldn't really see most of the smaller obstacles (asteriodss?) as they blended in to the background, effects, the text on the screen was taking up a big portion of it, etc. That being said, the humor in some of the dialogue is just fantastic... "hah I always knew it was flat!" lol
Oct 20 02:24:34 2h 04m REDUT-7: Radar in the Forest ♥ 1 First off: the game is really great. There is a lot to do, and everything is incredibly polished. To be honest, its too polished. During play I had a feeling you had some help. That isn't to take away from the vibe and atmosphere, as they are incredibly apparent and its clear to me that you put a lot of work into that! However...and this isn't about you in particular, moreso just in general...I **strongly** feel as though if you're going to use Claude to write "All the code" (your words, not mine) for the game, you should leave it for the Jam. There is no rule against it, but you essentially got to delegate the **entire programming of your game** to something else and spend all the time focusing on the artistic/visual direction. The spirit of the Compo is in seeing just how much you can accomplish in 48 hours, and some AI here and there isn't the end of the world, but for this to be going up against other games seems like a massively unfair advantage. Just my two cents on the matter...still congrats on a great game. _ld_post_g.png
Oct 20 23:22:20 20h 57m Old Wash Laundry ♥ 0 Made it to the 60s 😀 nice work, its a cute little game that is very complete! Someone else said it already, but i would love maybe a bit more easing on the movement of the "safe zone" on the right. Also, someone has played Stardew Valley fishing minigame havent they? 😁 _ld_post_h.png
Oct 20 23:29:14 6m 54s The Last Chance ♥ 1 The graphics are awesome, and totally caught my eye. I don't want to beat the dead horse but I echo what a lot of others have said, the controls are really difficult to understand and kind of off putting... The art seriously is amazing though. Really great stuff there!
Oct 20 23:34:48 5m 34s Carbineball ♥ 1 I love getting to play your games every Ludum Dare. I always look forward to it, and this one didn't disappoint! You always put so much love and polish into your entries. I absolutely love this one. Great work, almost nothing bad to say about it other than maybe its too chaotic/confusing at times (especially at first). Great job!!
Oct 21 20:02:15 20h 27m Retroid Zania ♥ 1 _ld_post_i.png This was really fun. I totally got lost in the world for a bit. I'm super impressed, so many things going on, and I love the music and the art style!
