a lone radar operator in july 1941 telling friend from foe, very grounded premise, and the room, the rain and the night forest build a lonely mood. the pointer lock kept dropping me back to the menu in the embed though, so i didnt get to the radar itself
This was briliant. I was slightly hesitant of the idea at first but then got immersed into the boringness of looking at radar and waiting for action. The hint of twist at the end was suprising and i think it fit though i am not sure if the ending though reflects that, or maybe thats your idea of it being left open (I missed one plane, dunno what that matters)
The mood is night and for me the bussy work minigames worked and were not annoying. I think this game had the most satisfying more coding i have encountered (last ld had quite a lot of those) and was not annoying to use! I almost missed the planes actually having nice modeles since i was tucked in so much and just heared them fly past, though my immersion was slightly ruined wondering why they fly always right past the radar buildings :D

solid game! giving me fire watch vibes. my first idea was a cold war game that would've been similar.

Well, I got a lot of good things to say about your game. First of all, I was attracted by the artstyle. I'm fan of psx style and pixelized looks, so you got me here even before I launched the game. Secondly, the atmosphere is great. I enjoyed this unsettling feeling of being in situation like that. And of course, gameplay was great too. All this little minigames kept the game fresh and I liked how they all worked together. Didn't expect jumpscare in this game, it did its job... This game is great and deserves all 5's, Good job! P.S. I'm pretty sure plush was alive all the time and watched me..

July 1941, an old radar in the woods. What a setting! It really nails the WWII mood and the old tech vibe
First off: the game is really great. There is a lot to do, and everything is incredibly polished. To be honest, its too polished. During play I had a feeling you had some help. That isn't to take away from the vibe and atmosphere, as they are incredibly apparent and its clear to me that you put a lot of work into that!
However...and this isn't about you in particular, moreso just in general...I **strongly** feel as though if you're going to use Claude to write "All the code" (your words, not mine) for the game, you should leave it for the Jam. There is no rule against it, but you essentially got to delegate the **entire programming of your game** to something else and spend all the time focusing on the artistic/visual direction. The spirit of the Compo is in seeing just how much you can accomplish in 48 hours, and some AI here and there isn't the end of the world, but for this to be going up against other games seems like a massively unfair advantage.
Just my two cents on the matter...still congrats on a great game.

full points for mood. The game feels complete and really well put together, even more impressive considering it is a compo entry.

@william-corrin thanks for playing, and for putting it so kindly!
You're right, Claude wrote the code, which is why I disclosed it on the game page. It wasn't a single prompt, though: I built the game mechanic by mechanic, describing how each one should work, playtesting it and asking for changes until it felt right. The LD FAQ allows AI assistants in the Compo, so I entered it there. Seeing other games in the category with AI Code disclosures also influenced my decision to enter the Compo rather than the Jam. That said, I understand why it feels different alongside games where every line of code was written by the developer during the 48 hours. It's a fair debate for the community to have, and in hindsight, I'm not entirely sure the Compo was the right fit.
This was my first Ludum Dare, and my first time putting a game out publicly at all, so I'm still figuring out where I stand on these things. I've also started learning to code, using this game's code as my starting point.
I'm glad the atmosphere worked for you, and thanks again for taking the time to play and share your thoughts!
The tea 😂 Absolutely excellent job on this man! Hit the nail on the head for theme. I'm particularly inspired by the events you designed and pieced together. The player has plenty of fun variation, and the electrician hobbyest in me was appeased with the breaker box

The game is just wow. I really loved the atmosphere; I felt so anxious the entire time. And when the jumpscare happened, I nearly died! I really enjoyed the experience.
Love the lovelessly vibes here. Nice and no rush game!
That was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere. And I liked the little extra things you could do outside of manning the radar and reporting back. Good stuff 🎱
