Oct 20 15:11:10 Iconworld Doctor ♥ 1 Lovely presentation and some genuinely interesting new ideas in sokoban, at least for me! I only managed to get to level 10 in the 30 mins I played for, they were definitely getting fairly challenging at that point, but always with an obvious intended solution when you find it, not requiring a ton of moves. I always appreciate a solution that is non-trivial but only takes a couple handfuls of moves. Well done!!
Oct 20 15:21:39 10m 29s Ye Old Repair Shop ♥ 1 Nice puzzle game with solid difficulty progression! There was a bit too much yapping from the instructor, and some of the writing came across as llm output, but once I got into the puzzles I generally had a good time. The graphics could use a bit more clarity, they imply a more complex puzzle, especially since the game talks about "same color, same shape", but only color seems to matter? The audio is nice though, at first it felt a little too playful, but once the guitar came in, it felt appropriate. Nice work overall!
Oct 20 16:33:26 1h 11m Snuffed Out ♥ 1 The atmosphere and voice acting are top notch! Great sound design! Unfortunately, it's a bit too tedious to play for me. I think you should let the player drive the ship in the dark, but punish them with a jumpscare if they do so for too long. Then I can try to race to the end rather than being "punished" with a tedious walk back to the coals. I would also do away with the timing game on the coals, and have a 1-2 shovels do the trick, or halve the amount of walking back to the coal area. It's fine to have to walk a long way to do the scan at the end of each level, but going back and forth between the ship controls and the coals over and over again just feels rough. I don't mean to be overly critical, I actually really like the bones of what you've built, just like to give honest feedback. Keep up the good work!
Oct 20 16:41:35 8m 09s Oldie ♥ 1 Nice and cozy, really enjoyed the audio with the bird chirping! The gameplay was interesting enough to keep me playing for awhile. I would have appreciated more of a puzzle element in this kind of game, but I understand that's not necessarily the intent here. Nice work overall!
Oct 20 16:46:57 5m 22s Mr. Duck ♥ 4 Interesting twist on the classic endless runner. The aesthetics add a lot here, they're very fancy! the pause, rewind and fast forward don't all feel equally useful. It seems like the best way to play is to toggle pause most of the time, and rewind if you get in a bad spot, and you can pretty much just play infinitely. Unfortunately this way of playing isn't super compelling from a gameplay perspective, so it makes the twist feel like it's making the game less fun rather than more fun. Still, a well polished and interesting concept that deserves more investigation, well done!
Oct 20 17:11:42 24m 45s I Hate Funny Games ♥ 1 Great atmosphere and fun concept, just a bit rough around the edges! Ski ball was a rough one start on, as the balls just kept getting stuck. Might be a framerate based physics issue? Couldn't move away from a machine until the game finished, which was frustrating for trying to test each of the games. Would be cool to be able to make tickets part of the gameplay loop, and unlock new games that require more tokens to play, and exchange tickets for "upgrades" and more tokens, or at least get some cosmetic things. Nice work overall!
Oct 20 17:16:36 4m 54s Floppy Disk Orienteering ♥ 0 I was unable to see the ground or any floppies unfortunately, but I enjoyed the chipper music!
Oct 20 17:25:18 8m 42s cassette 1998 ♥ 1 Interesting concept, I do love a good mystery! I spent awhile listening, rewinding and looking at the sketchbook, but nothing jumped out to me as an obvious lead for any of the four words. I imagine one of them as something to do with the door. Alas, I was unable to solve it, but I was intrigued! Nice work
Oct 20 17:28:47 3m 29s Agressive Tendencies ♥ 1 Java applet?! Now thats what I call old tech 😂 Super janky, but kinda fun. Jump sound needs work
Oct 20 18:43:58 1h 15m Lexitron ♥ 1 I really, really liked this one! It's a little rough around the edges, but once you get used to the controls and how the machines work, it's very satisfying to get a solution working! I appreciated the ability to select levels given that the game froze a couple times, and that some of them I struggled to find a solution in a reasonable amount of time. Might have just been me being dense, but a lot of my solutions relied on timing to get things working, and I couldn't help but feel like a delay belt would've been handy, given the limited space. Some of the puzzles seemed punishingly difficult to complete, but perhaps I just missed a simpler solution.
Oct 20 19:20:00 36m 02s Dialup Debug ♥ 0 The graphics are nice and the concept intriguing! I didn't quite understand what I could do aside from try keys, and hope I get lucky finding the letters I'm looking for, and that the letters I needed weren't too far from each other. A lot of info is thrown at the player right away, so maybe just start in split mode, and make it clear all you have to do on level 1 is type a short word. I'm not convinced the scrambling is a good mechanic here. I think it'd work better as a movement puzzle on a keyboard with mechanics that get more complex over time. But maybe I'm missing something. Overall, very cool game!
Oct 20 19:27:12 7m 12s RAM256 ♥ 2 Simple but fun! Does a good job of adding new features at a regular basis to keep things varied. Presentation is pleasant and clean. I played on a trackpad so a bit of a carpal tunnel trigger. Great job!
Oct 20 19:34:10 6m 58s Nomad City ♥ 0 I really liked the presentation and concept, but there was a bit too much waiting and whenever I got to make a decision, it felt like it didn't matter. Holding space to speed up time 3x would go a long way, and for a jam, rather than going with fully random upgrades, make them fixed for the first play through so you can balance things to feel better for the 10-20 minutes most players will stick around for.
Oct 22 13:17:22 41h 43m LaserWyrm ♥ 1 Cool new take on snake! Nice music and the lasers are a nice way to counter the typical loop of grow until you crash.
Oct 27 14:19:51 121h 02m The Night Clerk ♥ 1 Video store entries unite! Love the hand drawn art and sound design. Died a couple times, but my third night I was very diligent. Nice work!
