Apr 17 11:05:35 Jim Brimstone: Devil Advocate ♥ 0 I thought it was a rather fun little game! Sure, as some others have said, some answers were kind of cliché, but to me it felt like the people making the game KNEW they were being corny, and did it anyway. Kinda like when you see a movie and it's so bad that it wraps around again to being good, like Snakes on a Plane. Artwork was awesome, I really dig the subtle palette as well as the other lawyer looking progressively more disheveled after dealing with your nonsense. My only real complaint is the text boxes changing size with the text as it came onto the screen for the dialogue. I'm not sure what engine you used, but I'm sure there's probably a way to have a fixed size text box and just have the text appear inside of that, possibly with the use of substrings, for instance. Other than that, though, I thought it was a solid entry and it had me chuckle a few times. Great job!
Apr 18 05:12:22 18h 06m Grishnek Legacy ♥ 2 Pretty fun game, I enjoyed the DDR / Guitar Hero type gameplay combined with drawing the glyphs. Pixel art was cute. A solid entry!
Apr 18 05:21:41 9m 19s Slaymore ♥ 4 Art style was very cute. As others have said, jump sound was kinda annoying. Maybe just a bit of pitch shifting so it's not exactly the same every time you jump would help. The animations didn't work quite a lot, and bullets coming thru the walls from enemies was annoying. I also noticed that when I got hit, the hearts seemed to come off the health bar at random instead of in a specific order. Not sure if that was intentional or a bug, but it was difficult at a glance to tell how much health I still had. Also, having to Alt+F4 out of the title screen isn't the most fun. Still, it was a pretty solid entry and good job!
Apr 22 06:55:37 97h 33m Toad-O-Mental ♥ 2 Really nice graphics. I was a little confused on what to do at first, but the walkthrough video helped quite a bit. Maybe (if you have time of course!) you could make a tutorial of sorts to help explain what to do at first. I also liked the music! Good job!
Apr 22 07:11:34 15m 57s War of the Necrocaster ♥ 0 I agree with a lot of the other comments here. The graphics are cute, although I was having a lot of issues with the enemy HP bar just disappearing off the screen, so I didn't really know how much HP he had left. Music and sound effects were a bit repetitive. The game was pretty easy, either spam small units, or upgrade a couple times and spam small ones. Or, upgrade your mana / mana regen, then spam bigger units. Pretty good entry. A quit button would be nice so users don't have to Alt + F4 out of the game.
Apr 22 07:19:12 7m 38s C.R.T. - Companion Recall Technology ♥ 4 I like the pixel art graphics. I noticed something VERY important: Nowhere in your list of controls did you mention that shift makes you sprint, I just tried it out of habit from a lot of other games and noticed that I was faster. This might be why a lot of people were saying the movement was too hard, because they only attempted the moves you told them they could do with each companion! I also noticed that the music just kind of stopped for me and then it was just awkwardly silent except for my jumping sounds. I would definitely recommend updating the list of controls to be sure you include everything! 🙂
Apr 22 07:38:30 19m 18s Book of the Ghosts ♥ 1 I was just chillin minding my own business, then like 487 ghosts rolled up and were like EEEYYAAARRRRGGGHHHHHRRRRLLLGGGHHHHBBBLLLKKKTHHHGGGPPTT!!!!!!!!! I eventually found the book and won, but I didn't register what "the beam" was at first. Maybe some type of HUD marker to let people know what they're looking for. I kept trying to follow the bridges and ran in a circle about 10 times before I figured out where I was going. As for repeating sounds, look into pitch shifting them randomly, it can help a lot in a jam to break up everything sounding exactly the same. Pretty fun little game, has a lot of potential for improvements! Good job!
Apr 22 07:56:33 18m 03s Duck Spawner ♥ 1 My brain hearing the music: "Boop bip beep boop boop bip beep boop boop bop bip beep boop beep BOOP" Me, seeing the button: *click click click click click* So. Many. Ducks. Great job! Love to see other Godot games! I managed to get my html export working on LDJam (was using Godot 3.5.2 stable) and followed the guide from LDJam where it said to search for the "in navigator" and replace that whole thing with "false" in (I think) it was 3 places in your index.js file. But it seems like you got it working, so that's awesome!
Apr 23 23:09:34 39h 13m Command: Summon ♥ 2 This was a cute little game! I managed to get 5/7 endings before looking at the spoilers. Graphics were nice, sound was good, and I liked the music as well! Solid entry, great job!
Apr 23 23:19:27 9m 53s Summon Get It! ♥ 0 Fun little game, cute graphics. I liked the music as well. However, I did notice at one point the game just stopped letting me swap between forms no matter how much I scrolled the mouse wheel. Is there a limit on the number of times you can swap that I didn't notice, perhaps?
Apr 23 23:39:18 19m 51s Enforcement Bureau ♥ 1 Since I have my headset volume up rather high, the loudness of the radio was jarring and I had to turn it down quite a bit right away. However, the game was fun, I liked how there was a chance to upgrade and also a difficulty ramp, although as some others said it was maybe a bit fast. But also it's a game jam, and people NORMALLY don't play jam games for a super long time. In that regard, it seems about right. I did enjoy the music, seems pretty chill overall. And I agree the ending was unexpected and pretty cool! Great job!
Apr 24 00:09:47 30m 29s Echoes Evil Summoning ♥ 1 Fun little game, although I don't see any options to rate it, either. The sound effects were a bit loud, but otherwise nice job!
Apr 24 00:30:02 20m 15s The Zummoning ♥ 1 The entry here needs a lot of polish, but I appreciate you letting us know up front that it's very rough. I submitted ratings based on this version, then I went ahead and played the redux version as well. The music, sound effects, and updated graphics added a LOT to it. Even as it stands on the entry here, it was a rather fun little game!
Apr 24 03:18:01 2h 47m notepad game ♥ 1 I mean... Ok so like, I don't even know what to say. You made (with the help from chatGPT from what it says anyway) a game. Without an engine. Or graphics. Or sound. BUT it has gameplay. And a win/loss condition. 11/10 best game so far! 🤣
Apr 24 03:31:33 13m 32s Soul Technician ♥ 1 Neat concept. The artwork is cute. Even with using the dash, I haven't been able to get past the 3rd wave/stage. Some sounds or music would have been nice. Overall, pretty solid entry, would like to see a more polished version down the line, maybe with a slightly less steep difficulty curve 🙂
Apr 24 04:23:44 52m 11s Tower of Oz ♥ 1 Amazingly cute pixel art, a good soundtrack, and rage-inducing gameplay. Pretty solid entry! I wasn't even able to make it past the big pit in the second level. I know *WHAT* to do, I was just having trouble getting the li'l dude to cooperate to actually *DO* it 🤣 Great job!
Apr 30 03:48:47 143h 25m The seven crystals ♥ 0 I agree that it was difficult to tell what was floor and what was a wall. Maybe make one or the other darker so the player can tell the difference. Art style was pretty cute, I liked it!
Apr 30 03:54:10 5m 23s Whatever ♥ 1 Cute little game, as others have said could see it going places with some more polish. A few ideas for some things you could try to add that probably aren't too difficult to implement: - Animations for the pieces swapping - Only allow the user to swap pieces if they're touching (so can't swap top left and top right, have to swap to the middle first, for example) - Sound effect when user clicks on a piece - Keep track of number of moves - Some type of animation to let them know they have completed the puzzle / "You won!" screen Good job for a first game and jam!
Apr 30 04:39:38 45m 28s Ritual of Ribbit ♥ 0 Cute game, I really enjoyed the music, and one of the reasons I came here to play it was because I saw your post asking if people might be interested in how you made the music. I might be one of those people, as music is probably my weakest skill-set in the game dev space, at least currently 🙂 Nice graphics, had some summoning, however I did manage to die several times due to the slabs getting stuck when I was near the water as well. Maybe make them able to be pushed by the player so if I place them slightly off where they need to be I can push them out of the way? Just an idea. Solid entry, good job!
May 4 00:57:48 92h 18m Skelly-Tons ♥ 0 Cute game, I liked the graphics. I agree that I had to click too much at the start. Pretty solid entry overall!
May 4 00:59:24 1m 36s Astro Heart ♥ 1 Cute graphics, solid sound effects. I don't think I have the brainpower at the moment to make anything that actually does well in combat though 🤣 Great job!
