Apr 19 18:07:54 Make New Friends ♥ 1 Great little game! Gamepad support works nice, though I apparently scored better with keyboard =). The unique names are a nice touch, and the leaderboard is great.
Apr 23 02:45:58 80h 38m Stars Align ♥ 1 Really nicely done, excellent puzzle design as always! I managed to make it through to the end =). For some reason the controls felt a little unresponsive, I realize it's because pressing for just a moment needs to turn, before moving, but quite a few times I found myself moving when I wanted to turn, or just turning when I thought I should move. Not sure if much can be done there - increasing the delay a bit between turning and moving would help, but maybe not great. I wonder if pressing and holding could just _never_ turn and then move? Tap once to turn, then hold to move? That'd probably be annoying too ^_^. Anyway, besides that, this was great!
Apr 23 02:52:39 6m 41s Dungeon Summoner ♥ 1 Ooh, a dungeon crawler, it's like I'm in the wrong jam all of a sudden! Felt really good, automap was cool, but could have used a bigger / less linear map to really take advantage of it =). It seemed I was invincible? My health got to 0 in the first battle before I'd quite figured out what was going on... I would have liked maybe just some reason not to just spam all my cards - if the matching element healed the enemy, then maybe I'd at least have been encouraged to turn and shoot the matching cards into space, if not find someone better to shoot with them. Nice and short and sweet, and I made it to the end, and summoned quite a terrifying demon.
Apr 23 03:14:55 22m 16s Dreambound Metal Fan ♥ 1 Really cool! I love the hellhound. It was really satisfying watching my hell cats and dogs ravage the countryside. My first game didn't go to well, but my second I managed to win, although I'm not quite sure what I did differently ^_^. First one I was swarmed by the ladies in white and just couldn't get anyone close enough to hurt them. Took me a _long_ while to realize I could scroll the map! I thought I had just about won, until that moment... I would have liked just a little something else to do, like maybe a building I could build that would increase my income or something, just for variety =). Impressively full game for a jam, though, nicely done!
Apr 23 03:44:54 29m 59s Grand Court Summons ♥ 1 Wow, this is utterly amazing, there's so much game here! The level design is huge, and sprawling, and there's even jumps to play with! Really great nostalgia, but also just a lot of fun! I seemed to avoid any real bugs while playing. I did, however, twice have someone declared "enemy of the state", as they were _literally walking up the steps to the courthouse_... poor guys. Only complain, is I would have liked a slower car, it seemed much more controllable at around half speed, but that's GT.. err... GCS for ya! Nice job!
Apr 23 03:54:10 9m 16s Lil Lads Hit the Notes (Or fall into lava and they don't want that) ♥ 0 Neat game, I love playing PICO-8 games, even if I've never made one ^_^. The mouse felt unresponsive, since the cursor was hidden it meant that each time I wanted to move over a column, I had to move a different distance than the last time (depending on where the hidden cursor was inside a column, I guess) - it would have felt much more responsive if the cursor was still visible (and just showed the hover highlight like it did now). Other than that, it was pretty fun =). Poor cats, always ending up in the lava...
Apr 24 02:09:19 22h 15m Worst Day in Hell ♥ 1 Great game! I love a dungeon crawler =). The dungeon design was great, I love the unlocking shortcuts, the candles here and there were nice for getting bearings. Once I had about 3-4 shortcuts open I started getting a little disoriented though. The fireballs seemed really finicky, at a couple places I couldn't quite figure out if there was any way to get through without getting hit a bunch, so I just used one life clearing the fireballs and then on the next life ran there before the hallway could fill with them, which didn't feel like what I was supposed to be doing (though maybe I'm wrong ^_^). Very nice atmosphere too. I'm slightly relieved I didn't have to play a fishing minigame at the end.
Apr 24 02:20:28 11m 09s Demon Well ♥ 1 Success, in 5:37. My only gripe is occasionally when someone was talking and the text was being revealed too slowly I instinctively pressed _space_ and instead of the text appearing quickly it skipped to the next line without me having a chance to read the rest of it :(. Really nicely done, and I _love_ the audio, especially the boss fight music.
Apr 24 03:00:31 40m 03s Rex ♥ 1 Really enjoyed this! The art is great, characters fantastic, whole look and feel really nice. I love a bit of simulation, and this really scratched that itch. I wish there was a goal or something as it quickly became pretty easy (I did play until week 20 something and had about 5 outgoing wars going on at any time...). Impressive amount of game here, for a jam including lots of writing and events (I never saw the aforementioned plague though...).
Apr 24 03:25:05 24m 34s 12 Vengeful Ghosts ♥ 1 84 deaths later, I have learned I'm not very good at bullet-hells. I managed to get through it though, as I was really enjoying the writing! I had difficulty with the dodge mechanic, very often I found myself pressing dodge and a direction and ending up where I was standing, with a face full of bullets, instead of dodging the direction I wanted to be going. I suspect my pressing of the dodge button was coming through before my pressing of a direction, and it seems like it could be made slightly more forgiving (if a directional button is pressed while in the few milliseconds of being invisible and dodging, just dodge in that direction), and it would have felt a lot less frustrating. It also took me quite a while to learn what "focus" did (just slows you down?), maybe some explanation there would be useful =). I really enjoyed the ghosts, each of their personalities and different behaviors.
Apr 24 23:47:36 20h 22m Sick of Summoning ♥ 1 My high score: 92. Really nice! It's surprisingly challenging despite how simple it seems! I had difficultly trying to balance keeping track of incoming fireballs and also aiming and also running towards the guys almost to the top row =). Simple and elegant, I can't really think of anything to suggest being done differently, maybe just some variety in enemies after a certain point (ones that take multiple hits but move slower, perhaps?).
Apr 25 00:08:56 21m 20s Dark Roast Cafè ♥ 1 Wonderful, I love the feel of this! Probably a bug, it seemed like the 3 demons it advertised I could summon always arrived with different stats than shown (false advertising from hell?). The resolution was also tiny, and seemed off (I played on Web, on the itch.io page, and it took up only about half of the viewport allocated for it - likely because I'm at 150% high DPI display scale - I suspect you can simulate this in the browser by just using your browser's zoom feature to "zoom" to 150% and you'll see the same effect). Switching down my monitor's resolution and then the game played great though. I wasn't quite sure what putting myself on a station did, when I put myself on the Barista station, I thought I was helping, but actually the demon worked way slower. Once I got out of his way, the game went much more swimmingly ^_^. On the last day I went from about 400 money to around 10,000, and also gained about 120 levels, so there seems to be some uncontrolled exponential growth (but that was fun)! Really nice job on this game.
Apr 26 04:02:11 27h 53m Drawnion (multiplayer) ♥ 1 I played this with a friend... and 2 others joined moments later? That seems like too much of a coincidence, are there bots? :D It was pretty neat, I liked making my own avatar. We had a hard time feeling like we were making any progress, it would have been nice to have a "score" of some kind (just total mana value for each player? My friend, who had more, insisted that was the score...). Mad props for making a multiplayer game in a jam!
Apr 26 04:03:54 1m 43s Summoner's Duel ♥ 0 Neat and ambitious game! I played multiplayer with a friend, though the battle ended up very one-sided as he drew a whole bunch of creatures and I drew a bunch of ~~land~~ mana crystals -_-. I love the look and feel of this!
Apr 27 23:12:02 43h 08m Doppel Effect ♥ 1 Neat, and I love that it's a NES ROM! On that note, I couldn't get it to work in the web player (didn't recognize controller inputs), but it played just fine after downloading and loading it up in an emulator =). I liked the title music, wish there was some music and sounds during gameplay. Puzzles were smart, and other than undo not working on the last level, it all worked pretty great! doppel-effect-1.01_001.png
Apr 27 23:31:30 19m 28s resown ♥ 1 I love this! Atmosphere and mood were fantastic, sound and music were great. Controls were a bit awkward - at some point very early I realized I could just keep the triggers (grab) depressed and everything was just simpler, I could play the whole game with just sticks and bumpers, and then it was pretty good (except for the pain in my fingers when I was done playing!). A slightly simpler control scheme were grabbing was the default/automatic would have really helped, I think. But, I really enjoyed the game, probably my favorite one I've played so far! All the puzzles felt really good, and weren't too difficult (I only died a couple times, from accidental telefragging). My only complaint is that my only reward for getting up here (up and to the left of the initial spawn):resown1.png Was this wonderful (if unsurprising) message when I ran off to the left =): ``` Error src/game/entities/player.lua:88: attempt to index field 'collider' (a nil value) Traceback [love "callbacks.lua"]:228: in function 'handler' src/game/entities/player.lua:88: in function 'onCollide' src/game/systems/movementSystem.lua:152: in function 'hasCollided' src/game/systems/movementSystem.lua:112: in function 'moveExactX' src/game/systems/movementSystem.lua:34: in function 'moveX' src/game/systems/movementSystem.lua:23: in function 'callback' src/lib/concord/world.lua:315: in function 'emit' src/game/scenes/levelset.lua:59: in function 'update' main.lua:29: in function 'update' main.lua:168: in function <main.lua:149> [C]: in function 'xpcall' ```
