Apr 19 00:24:34 Garbage Collector Simulator ♥ 1 I lol'd, great educational game
Apr 19 01:01:21 36m 47s Blockage ♥ 2 At first I thought that the red-blood-cell-like blobs were friendly, like "am I shooting something I shouldn't?" Creepy artwork, great music, really sets up the atmosphere heh
Apr 19 02:53:45 1h 52m Wildfire ♥ 1 Nice game! It took me a while to understand how to use the bulldozers, I kept clicking everywhere and it didn't do anything, only after reading the instructions on itch.io I was able to do it. The helicopters feel unreliable, I wasn't able to reuse them even after the timer ended. Interestingly enough, I was able to save 100% of lives on Level 04 first try, but wasn't able to do it on Level 03 even after trying again. Maybe because of the two bulldozers on Level 04, they're pretty OP heheh Overall, I really enjoyed it. (played every level twice)
Apr 19 14:25:45 11h 32m Ydunian Prune ♥ 1 Nice game! It took me a while to discover de Castle upgrade, because I kept using all the fruits, and the option only appears when you have 1000 fruits available. Maybe you could always show it as an option, but blacked out if you have less than 1000. Perhaps only show it if the tree gets to a minimum size. BTW, I thought that building a castle would make some king NPC appear. Reading the dialogue I was like "wait, I'm the king now?" The fruit pickers above a certain number (300?) don't seem to make much of a difference to the picking rate, I had more than 1000 but they always missed many fruits on the tree. Cannons are OP, maybe they should be more expensive heheh
Apr 19 14:59:21 33m 36s Elbativeni ♥ 0 Interesting concept! At first I didn't notice the button to go to the magic screen, so I just got stuck in the first few squares and lost quickly. I only noticed the button on my third try... Maybe you could send the monster away if it's in the square you're swapping, it would be a way to leverage the blocked squares that would make you stuck as the player.
Apr 19 17:38:45 2h 39m Stallar ♥ 1 Cool plot twist, reminds me of Syobon Action, though you subverted the genre in a novel way that fits the theme.
Apr 19 18:01:10 22m 25s Super Crusher Fighters ♥ 1 Nice game, amazing that you were able to make such a polished game for the NES so quickly. The control scheme is hard to get used to, but since you only have two main buttons to work with there's not much that can be done. Maybe freeze the screen when in box placing mode? Someday I'll learn how to make games for retro consoles...
Apr 19 20:23:46 2h 22m Detection Day ♥ 0 Nice concept, this sort of game is very addicting. I hope you balance it a little more, I couldn't win a single time...
Apr 19 22:03:58 1h 40m BOULDER ♥ 1 Haskell for gamedev, I'd never have imagined it heheh The boulder animation is so smoooooooth You should send this to Bathaniel Nandy, he likes boulders.
Apr 20 01:36:51 3h 32m Everything's Fine ♥ 1 Nice little programmer game, simple but complete. >the closest was a few years back when I did a platformer in C++ and SDL2, it worked on linux but the SDL was always crashing when starting on Windows so I didn’t even submit it Please submit it anyway! Keep in mind that according to the rules, you're allowed and even encouraged to port your game after the deadline. >*Porting* (especially to Web or Windows) can happen *after* the initial 48 hours. The longer you wait though, the less time participants will have to play your game. You can even fix some bugs, you just need to make sure that at least one version is done, and you can't add new features. >Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players. There's even a video on Youtube by @PolyMars where he ports his game to 5 different game consoles. By the way, props for making your game using vim. _\/,/
Apr 20 03:38:50 2h 01m Joke is on you ♥ 2 Wow, the Internet is fast. Now there's even a playable version of the meme heheh Interesting concept of balancing the audience and Was Smith's temper. If you can, please release a Windows version, my potato computer couldn't run it on the browser. (technically it could, but the game became a slideshow presentation)
Apr 21 01:01:40 21h 22m 100 Seconds to Midnight ♥ 2 Interesting concept, well balanced. I found a loophole: if you don't choose any option, the months keep passing by with no penalty. One of the options was "Do nothing" -- which is effectively what I am doing --, but since I didn't click it, I wasn't penalized. I lasted 11 years and 5 months doing nothing... (I wonder if this is what real governments do)
Apr 21 02:03:41 1h 02m I Refuse to Hibernate! ♥ 1 So cute, the little bear really looks at you wide awake as if saying "what does 2 A.M. mean? :)" The puzzle mechanics are pretty fun too, I wonder how it could be expanded post-jam.
Apr 21 03:32:35 1h 28m Evita ♥ 1 306 MB, that's a thicc zip 😨 You only needed to include two folders, "Ludum Dare 50_Data" and "MonoBleedingEdge", the zip file would be only 24.8 MB. I tested it and the extra folders (or lack of them) made no difference. A few sound effects would greatly improve the game, you can make them quickly with Bfxr. (it is based on sfxr, which was originally made for Ludum Dare 10) Being able to attack using keyboard buttons would be nice, right-clicking with a laptop touchpad is annoying. The sword is too short to be of much use, so I kept using the items and almost forgot that hitting with the sword was an option. I liked the extra items, it added variety to the gameplay and kept it interesting. Overall, nice game!
Apr 21 06:22:51 2h 50m Sunny-Life Waste Disposal ♥ 1 Fascinating game, it took me a while to understand what was going on, but it is pretty fun! I played the Jam version first, and then the Recommended version. Most problems that I saw in the Jam original were fixed in the newer version. The only problem that I saw specific to the the newer version was that sometimes it would kick me off the gathering mode, and I was only able to gather again without problems in another pile. If that is intentional, it would be good to indicate somewhere to the player that the pile is depleted, and to come back later after trying another one. I think that some visual indication that repeat items multiply would also be great, the game is too slow if you don't know that you can do that.
Apr 21 06:57:24 34m 33s LD50.exe ♥ 1 Hilarious 😆 I lost because I wanted to read what the popups said. No regrets. By the way, on the Windows version the line break in the Game Over screen didn't work. (probably because of the Unix line break being "\n", while Windows expects "\r\n")
Apr 21 09:05:10 2h 07m Delay Decay ♥ 0 Whoa, this got dark pretty quick heheh I got an extra bunny (more than needed) and the game crashed 😨
Apr 21 18:25:35 9h 20m Meteor Rain ♥ 0 The graphics are so pretty! I agree with the suggestion that, for variety, you could make the big boulders give more points. I don't think that making the big boulders break up in smaller ones would be a good idea for this game, since shooting them would yield even more things to avoid, penalizing the player for destroying them. > I made lasers moving by changing gravity to minus value so maybe that’s the reason. heh nice job working within your abilities and actually completing a game in 48h
Apr 21 18:49:06 23m 31s Morth II - but you are a shopkeeper in the forest town. ♥ 0 Interesting idea! I think that if you put some little icons showing the type of each item, and the types the buyer is looking for, it would make the game easier to understand and play. I liked the Scroll of Confusion heh
