Oct 3 22:30:51 Critical Mass ♥ 3 A lovely entry - beautiful to look at, and enjoy how the motion and health can be inferred up just by watching the particles. For a moment, I thought some enemies hitting you also added mass - which also seems like a cool idea to explore if you are doing anything similar in the future. The player would then have to balance bleeding off mass, and a sudden cluster of one type of enemy or another could have you pivoting from running towards pickups, or running away - just a thought. Enjoyed the aesthetic and bold colors, great job
Oct 4 16:01:19 17h 30m Keep them alive ♥ 1 What a great idea! Definitely a funny interpretation of the idea 'unstable' Nice how you can walk about the server room, a little more immersive than just clicking buttons Nice work!
Oct 4 16:05:26 4m 07s Walking Home Simulator ♥ 1 Love the theme and the art, the double vision is very cute and fun, and I giggled at the idea of a drunk man running into the road, dodging cars, to finish a bottle he found on the asphalt Great word!
Oct 4 16:10:43 5m 17s Totally Stable Docking Simulator ♥ 1 When you load up and think it's 2d, but then a moment of hubris leads to a crash and the shrapnel flies at you in 3d! That is a fantastic moment Love the idea, great execution, with some polish this could be a super fun game and a great way to teach RCS thrusters with an intuitive idea of physics in space
Oct 4 16:16:45 6m 02s SpiderJump ♥ 0 What a great concept - despite the little 'bugs' (no pun indented) this game has great potential. Finding ways to limit the silk strand's length can be a headscratcher, and you've got the encroaching cold as a great way to keep the pressure on. I never did last long, but it is so fun to swing around, I didn't care. Great job!
Oct 4 16:57:55 41m 10s Ruin Raider ♥ 1 Yes, a solo board game!! I really want to like this game, but I am unsure if I am playing it correctly. It has such potential to be an engaging and easy solo experience, but I think it needs some photos, flowcharts or reworded sections in the doc to enjoy fully. * Is an explore turn only: 1. Look at occupied room 2. Draw & place 1-3 cards 3. Move ? * Can I place cards 'overhanging', as in, does the entire card edge have to touch the occupied room? * Is there any 'table limit' to how far the dungeon can grow to? * The wording 'next to the dungeon' is used for ruin dice - does that just mean the dice is active? Does it matter where it is placed? * It says 'if no more dice can be placed, roll all active die' - does that just mean if 6 ruin dice are in play, roll 6 ruin dice to close rooms? When else would no more ruin dice be able to be placed? The idea of closing rooms where dice lands was a super fun idea, but again, had some questions. * What happens if it lands off the table? * What happens if several dice land on the same card? * Are those ruin dice 'used' or are they still active? * Same as @unpronounceable, the ruin timer was confusing and seems to have no impact? Overall I enjoyed my time trying to figure it out, but never quite fully understood. I played a game where no ruin dice were ever active it seems. I played a few times and never had my stamina decrease, nor used a leap-of-faith - though I imagine I am missing something? I would happily try to play again if the rules are clarified a bit. Here is my second game, which seemed silly, just walking in and walking out without any ruin dice PXL_20211004_164403404.jpg
Oct 4 17:04:46 6m 51s BlockBuster ♥ 0 Hmm https://heuristicsare4noobs.itch.io/blockbuster seems to be a 404?
Oct 4 17:11:29 6m 43s Unstable Matter ♥ 2 This game is fantastic, I love the wacky art and enemy design, the gameplay feels rhythmic and deeply satisfying, and the story was hilarious to boot. Excellent work, you should be proud.
Oct 4 17:23:26 11m 57s Nuclide ♥ 1 I love this game so much. First off, the graphics are phenomenal - the subtle particles, the art deco inspired technology, the clear color pallet all work together to make a delicious and enveloping visual style. The scientific inspiration is an amazing interpretation of the theme, and creates and immediately engaging setup. The gameplay is fantastic - at first you flail about sending particles all over the screen, but slowly you begin to learn the deeper mechanics - where to place your emitter, how the atom will react when the particles resettle, how fast to blast and when to be still and let the elements balance themselves. The difficulty and length were perfect - just enough to be powerfully satisfying. Deeply enjoyable, and definitely memorable - you should be incredibly proud. Who would have thought my two favorite games so far would be nucleus based! (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/nucleus)
Oct 4 17:30:31 7m 05s Nucleus ♥ 3 This game is amazing - a masterful use of visuals and sound to create a simple and satisfying experience. I can't gush enough about the vibe - the lovely color shifts, the particle effects indicating the next emission, the orbiting visuals, the outside-electron indications, the subtle and melodic sound ques - all of it show the highly honed skills of an experienced game designer. Amazing work, truly fantastic. Who would have thought my two favorite games so far would be nucleus based! (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/nuclide)
Oct 4 18:10:53 40m 22s Stronkey Kong ♥ 4 This game is such a joy - the wonderful intro cinematic, the adorable bunny theming supported by amazing pixel art, and the silly twist on a classic make it very visually engaging. More than all that - the gameplay is amazing! I can't believe you were able to tackle structural building in a game jam! I loved swapping between the adrenaline pumping barrel dodge, then the puzzle-like crafting a structure. It is such a fun concept and is excecated beautifully. I only wish there were more frequent powerups / bonuses (perhaps at a lower point bonus) - as some of the most fun moments were frantically diving around while building to try to reach an umbrella lol (unfortunately my run stopped when I climbed down a ladder below the map - but with so such complex mechanics, I certainly cant begrudge a few bugs) Really amazing work, you must be an incredible and well-rounded programmer to tackle such a large project and execute it so beautifully
Oct 4 20:00:13 1h 49m MEMALOIRS ♥ 1 A wonderful little game, very well made, and that posits a serious quandry. We must remember the strange future we are all destined for, how we might prepare. Very well done
Oct 4 20:58:19 58m 06s House is not always a home ♥ 1 Wow, what a powerful entry. Glad I was able to get the good ending! What a ride. Excellent job, love the art, and especially the music! I left one section running while I did chores just to hear the song play. Really well done!
Oct 4 21:09:11 10m 52s The Ruins of Cuglatr 2 ♥ 1 I really enjoy games like this, just a plunge into a mysterious and magical lore. A world lush with fantasy elements, technowizardry, and great dangers around every corner - all through that lovely retro text style. Very well done!
Oct 4 21:25:14 16m 03s Wizards Quest ♥ 2 Oooh this game was a total blast, and has great potential. Learning to outsmart the different enemy types is super fun. Yeah, as @binary-coder said, the crumbling floor is awesome - I actually wish it feel appart after only, say, 2 or so crossings, so it could be a bigger part of the difficulty AND of the combat strategy. I loved how you drop into 'freeroam' once there are no more enemies. In fact, as the attack can always be used, it might be nice to have it trigger automatically at the end of movement, remove the number of inputs needed from the user. Really great entry, greatly enjoyed it, thanks!
Oct 4 21:29:19 4m 05s A 6h rush to produce anything ♥ 1 Yeah I really love the concept of the game - if you ever are able to dedicate more to this game in the future, I'd love to try it again. I'm sure you learned a ton trying this, even though it may not always feel like it. Thanks for submitting!
Oct 4 22:14:52 45m 33s Dimanchine ♥ 2 What a fun little game! My favorite moment was when an enemy snuck up from below, and suddenly I was being pushed into the air! Bit hard to tell what is what, as the enemies and projectiles and my shots and whatnot are all geometric shapes - but it does make for a cool visual style, almost like an fps interpretation of the original vector games (like asteroids) Very cool!
Oct 5 18:02:39 19h 47m Switching Realms ♥ 1 This is such a fun concept! The art is amazing, I can tell you put a lot of work into getting the colors and textures just right, and it looks fantastic. Great job!
Oct 5 18:19:51 17m 12s Pendulum Postman ♥ 1 This game is phenomenal! The lovely sprite-work, the subtle gradients, the adorable theming and the lovely little details like sideways windows or upside-down signs make for such a wonderful experience. The way the UI feels unstable along with the player give the game such character, and you have excellent game-design talent to be able to get so many fun scenarios out of the moving pedestrians. Who knew a wibbly-wobbly frogger would make such an excellent playing experience. Fantastic job folks!
Oct 5 18:58:56 39m 05s I found the legendary weapon that made me a hero and i'm going to fight the ... ♥ 1 Haha this is great, like keyboard twister! Love the theme, graphics are adorable, and it is wonderfully executed. Amazing job!
Oct 7 19:13:57 48h 15m Drifter ♥ 1 Ok this game is genius. It has all the makings of a successful web game - incredibly easy to learn, gentle difficulty rise that forces more and more creative and deep strategies to survive, an infinite high score, and a pleasing and subtle physics element which feels organic enough to be satisfying and occasionally surprises, but never feels unfair. I went from plodding along, avoiding platforms, to desperately hop-slamming myself top slurp up fuel before my base slipped off screen. I never felt like I had so much fuel it was easy, and was always riding that knife edge of barley surviving. The boost is a fantastic element, as it allows some daring last-minute saves, and allowing the player to skip pickups allows beautiful strategic plays that put survival over high score. The sfx were great, adn the gentle foreboding void expressed in the bg and atmospheric music is a nice touch (a la 2001). With some additional visual polish this could be a powerfully addicting and beloved time waster. It is shockingly engaging - I played this perhaps longer than any other jam game. It shows a mastery of game design by the creator. Truly fantastic job.
Oct 7 19:23:23 9m 26s Hexatris ♥ 1 Love this game, the soft colors and simple shapes create such a pleasing aesthetic, and the high friction shapes allow for some interesting strategy, and thrilling recoveries. I also experienced the 'restart' bug, and wondered about what lovely music might best accompany this game. Awesome job thought, this is such a fun entry. Had an interesting tower where the bottom slipped out from beneath me haha hexatris.png
Oct 7 19:48:41 25m 18s Turtles All The Way Down (VR required) ♥ 1 Yeah this game is fantastic. had a bit of an issue getting the resize to work, but otherwise, this was such a fluid experience - which is incredible for a vr jam title. Such subtle and unexpected depth between the different color turtles, the wide starting base, and having several different interacting towers. Here is my silly leaning boy, he made me proud: turtles.jpg
Oct 7 19:51:26 2m 45s Roboturai ♥ 1 What a cute little game! Yeah, mashing buttons can be hard for some of us, but I really enjoyed the concept. Great work!
Oct 7 20:10:17 18m 51s Chemical Love ♥ 1 Wow, who knew you could get such great comedic timing with just a flash of light an a stick figure appearing! I was shocked at how emotional and engaging this title was with only 2 colors and a handful of sprites! Excellent writing, loved the pacing, and really enjoyed the experience. Thanks!
