If you have intention to work on the game in the future, consider to add some kind of weapons or magic spell, it would be great!

I think red blood cells would be more appropriate if less "polygonal". The effect used when enemies hit the heart is a bit too strong, but it definitely attracts the player attention! Amazing level of polish overall. Great entry!
