Apr 21 02:51:00 Bears and Bees First Game I play for LD#32 and it is freakin' awesome. Good work!
Apr 21 02:52:00 1m 00s Salt 'Em Up I guess I wasn't the only one with the idea of using salt on slugs =).
Apr 21 02:59:00 7m 00s Crump Rush Freakin' Awesome game dude! Had a blast playing this entry.
Apr 21 06:15:00 3h 16m The Revenge Of The Sea So this is the second salt and slugs game I've seen. That makes at least three (including mine!). I realllly wanted to play this, but unfortunately it is not running on my Mac =(.
Apr 21 06:24:00 9m 00s TeleFrag I like the unique game mechanic of teleporting through enemies to kill them. What are you supposed to do in the computer room?
Apr 21 06:34:00 10m 00s AntiCon Another pure HTML5/Javascript game, nice!
Apr 21 06:38:00 4m 00s Gravity Blade Cool Idea. Did you try http://doesmybrowsersupportwebgl.com/ and making sure it doesn't say "Nay" for the people who can't get it to work on their system?
Apr 22 00:05:00 17h 27m Sticks and Stones Am I missing something? On the web version nothing happens when I get hit by the words.
Apr 22 00:16:00 11m 00s Starfall I don't know if I would call this a "Web" game because the .swf file is not being hosted in such a way that it can be opened in the browser. FYI, When I click on a web game, I expect to be able to open it and play it directly in my browser from the link. I would suggest calling it a "downloadable flash" game and giving people instructions that they must download the file and open it in their browser on their own machine. Other than that, pretty decent work with the graphics and music, two categories you don't have open for voting unfortunately :P
Apr 22 00:26:00 10m 00s A conventional Day Wow that land mine comes out of nowhere! Sort of like real land mines I guess? I really liked the music and graphics. The collision detection with the environment was a little too accurate...but hey it's Ludum Dare! Good work overall... high marks from me!
Apr 22 00:45:00 19m 00s Bond Cool game mechanic. A very interesting puzzle game, it kind of reminded me of Portal with the special surfaces that reacted to your "weapon". Excellent job!
Apr 22 00:53:00 8m 00s Polysseum - LD Edition Ugh Generally when I see a web link I think it is self hosted on a web site, not a downloadable file that must be opened.
Apr 22 00:57:00 4m 00s Banana Killer A psychopath's game.
Apr 22 01:04:00 7m 00s Makeshift Defense Interesting game.. kind of the opposite of Lemmings.
Apr 22 01:09:00 5m 00s Unconventional Universal Remote Support this game.. really? Asking for money on the Web version is just plain tacky. Also, the mouse look moves way too fast.
Apr 22 01:28:00 19m 00s The Murderers of Originality Pretty hilarious game! Every time the game started talking I was like "shut up kid!" Great entry, high marks from me.
Apr 22 05:19:00 3h 51m Crowd Control I liked the atmosphere created with the audio. The audio you selected was perfect. I felt like I was in the middle of an uprising. The simple graphics still conveyed the sense of a crowd in the middle of a city. The overall mood was really well done. However, I wasn't really for sure what to do in the game other than just blast everyone away. I didn't feel like I had any control over the crowd other than just holding my mouse button down and trying to get rid of as many people as possible. The only way I could "win" the game was by killing everybody. Even when I thought I had it under control, they just kept coming back.I really wish I didn't *have* to kill everybody. It would have been nice to be able to focus on those who were actually throwing things, meting out punishment only as it was deserved and perhaps dissuading others. Nice effect having everyone gang up on the tank operator after it was destroyed. I liked that you tried to capture crowd dynamics and emotion. This game wouldn't have happened to have been inspired by Elias Canetti's "Crowds and Power" ?
Apr 22 05:37:00 18m 00s Throw Junk at Aliens Damn the web version crashed my OS X 10.9.5 system on Safari =(.
Apr 22 17:12:00 11h 35m Stone Fighter Another HTML5 game, nice! I think it is the best format for Ludum Dare, the game just run. The game is challenging and an interesting concept. The music is well done!
Apr 22 17:28:00 16m 00s The morning type This was an interesting game. I could see something like this being used to learn a language wit pictures of the items going along with them. Reminds me of the old typing tutors.
Apr 22 17:33:00 5m 00s Space Boy Very active game. You did a good job putting it together this "Robotron" game.
Apr 22 17:41:00 8m 00s Space Bug Fun game! I also enjoyed the electronica music. I also appreciate the fact it is a HTML5 game. The enemies with the walking power-ups remind of Blubba from Bubble Bobble.
Apr 22 17:50:00 9m 00s Captain fig and the cutlery pirates To me, Web link means that you can play it in the browser directly from the link, not a link to a PC .exe.
Apr 22 17:58:00 8m 00s Hot Air Balloon vs Seagull "Get Rekt Son" is an accurate description as soon after I saw the message, the whole player crashed in Safari on OSX 10.9.5. In all fairness, this wasn't the only Unity game that crashed my Mac.
Apr 22 18:14:00 16m 00s Space Deuce High marks for humor and theme from me. Am I missing something, you elected to be judged in audio but I don't remember hearing anything. This is basically a humorous Space Harrier. I think it would have been better if there was an infinite amount of enemies and you kept track of how many you defeated. That could have been a way to get a "highscore". It is also missing a game over restart cycle. Had you done those two things, you would have had a game. I know how this goes, I almost didn't have a restart cycle myself this year.
Apr 22 18:18:00 4m 00s Shoe Gun Girl I almost had a shoe-throwing game myself, except I was going to have the player throw them at politicians in a style reminiscent of the Shinobi bonus stage. Fits the theme well.
Apr 22 18:25:00 7m 00s UW When I see a "Web" link, I think of having an actual in-browser playable game. The link however goes to a repo that doesn't seem to have anything in it. I would say try to get something up that is usable as long as you only share code that was written within the 72 hours of the Jam. The penalty is that you miss out on some days of the judging so it seems fair to me. If I can't play it, I can't rate it!
Apr 22 23:37:00 5h 12m Fight Rabbits Online Cool to see a networked game. Did you use WebRTC for the networking?
Apr 22 23:48:00 11m 00s Pipselwars When I zoom out it makes the game freeze momentarily in Chrome on Mac OS X 10.9.5. It looks an interactive Conway Game of Life. I also had to reload the page a couple of times to get the game to actually load. I like that you made a web sockets game though!
Apr 22 23:50:00 2m 00s Stupid Bird Poor bird.
Apr 23 00:11:00 21m 00s Lisa vs. the Tornado Twine is a really nice tool, not just for game development.
Apr 23 16:37:00 16h 26m Killer Moves As someone who was listening to dub step/chip tunes the whole time I was developing for Ludum Dare, I really liked the music. I take it audio voting is disabled because Virtual Riot didn't actually contribute music for this. <br/> <br/>While the game was still fun to play, the gameplay has a few problems. The opposing character dancing interrupts the flow of the game without providing much information. Perhaps if you had each move he was doing along with the arrow combinations under him it would be helpful. I could see omitting this information as the game progresses, but it would be helpful to have initially. When my ego bar is completely empty, the game just continues (on Safari, OSX 10.9.5). It also didn't seem like I could defeat my opponents, when their ego bar ran out they just kept going, even after exploding on the floor. It would be helpful to have description of the game that includes says something alone the lines of "Perform all of the moves before the red bar fills up!". I almost rated this game poorly for fun factor before I read The4thCircle's comment because I didn't see the correlation. If there had been a "Game Over" and a way to defeat my opponent, this would have been the most fun game I've played so far. <br/> <br/>You nailed the mood absolutely perfectly and the graphics are great. Good job!
Apr 23 16:43:00 6m 00s Shrimpworld A voxel platformer is a nice idea. I don't like the fact that your character can't shoot while he is "recovering" from being hit. Good job!
Apr 23 17:13:00 30m 00s Trees vs Zombies Using trees on your enemies is unconventional! <br/> <br/>Starting game play in this game was not intuitive. It wasn't obvious to me that you needed to hover the mouse on the tree in order to chop it down. I spent a couple of minutes walking up to trees and clicking and saying "Why won't the tree freakin' fall!" The timer mechanic was also clunky. It would have been better to just say "WASD to move, hover your mouse over the trees and aim the direction of their fall. Left click to chop the tree down." After you chopped down your first tree, the zombies would come. Boom, simple. I don't like having to restart the game to re-read the directions in order to figure out how to play the game. <br/> <br/>Nice to see another game written in pure HTML5/JS. So much easier to just play in the browser.
Apr 25 17:11:00 47h 58m The Song of Aria Well done! If you have to wait to sing, there should be some kind of indicator that lets you know when you can sing again (if there was, it wasn't obvious to me). There should have been some other game play mechanic other than hurting yourself every time you sing to destroy demons. I should be able to get through a game without taking a single hit of damage without relying on bandages to increase my life. Other than that, high marks from me. It was pretty fun to play all the way to the finish! Even more impressive that this is a Compo entry!
Apr 25 17:26:00 15m 00s Love is in the air Nice game overall. The WASD/Arrow controls just didn't work very well for the orthographic projection. It was a good thing there was unlimited ammo because it took me multiple trial-and-error shots to hit all but the closest enemies. <br/> <br/>From a technical standpoint, the libGDX web player was much better than the Unity player and it ran in Chrome. That says a lot considering Unity is a commercial product and libGDX is open source! <br/> <br/> Good job!
Apr 25 17:36:00 10m 00s Ob3se Decent game, it works and I can play it in my browser no problem. Not my kind of game, but my life would love it! Nice to see another Inkscape user =).
Apr 25 17:37:00 1m 00s In Air Game crashes and is unplayable on my Mac (OSX 10.9.5)
Apr 25 17:41:00 4m 00s Love Bomb Interesting idea with the artwork, but needs a lot of gameplay work. Doesn't seem to be much of a game here.
Apr 25 19:39:00 1h 58m Crazy Farmer Whenever my shot hits the pig, the game freezes on my Mac (OSX 10.5.9). =(
Apr 25 20:19:00 40m 00s The Wand of FloatingSoaps Very unique game. Simple music went very well with the game. Perfect mood.. very relaxing game to play. Having the shop component made me want to keep playing it. I could see this becoming a mobile app.
Apr 25 20:23:00 4m 00s Run Giraffe Run Oh man if he could have pee'd and poop'd this would have been HIGH humour ;). Cute game, glad you put something up!
Apr 25 20:39:00 16m 00s The Exterminators You do realize the point of Ludum Dare is to focus your energy so you can complete ONE project?
Apr 25 20:47:00 8m 00s A Good Tunnel Is Hard To Dig A good tunnel IS hard to dig.
Apr 25 20:57:00 10m 00s I Hate Golf Why is it such a huge file? Crashes on my Mac!
Apr 25 21:59:00 1h 02m Hive Mind Keys don't seem to work.
Apr 25 22:29:00 30m 00s Play Your Doom Windows version didn't run for me in Virtual box. Couldn't play the W note on the Mac Web unity version. There is a similar game called "Song of Aria" about a girl in a dungeon who sings to vanquish enemies.
Apr 26 03:38:00 5h 09m Zeldish Perhaps if you had implemented the play mechanic in a different world that made more sense to the game instead of just appealing to Nostalgia, it would have been a better game.
Apr 26 04:34:00 56m 00s Math Mania! What no trig functions? Oh well I can just use a Taylor series expansion to get it. Oh wait I can't... Equations are limited to ten characters?! Ok at least I have all of my equations set up now... nope sorry no game for you I crashed.
Apr 26 04:49:00 15m 00s Square Sprint Wow this was a really great entry! Simple, easy to play and perfect sound effects. Very satisfying to take out lots of blocks at one time, sounds like a gun shot. Whats awesome about this entry is that it runs perfectly in Chrome, using just plain HTML5/JS! Great entry... can't believe this is a Compo entry!
Apr 26 05:09:00 20m 00s ¡WHOA pizza! ROFLMAOOMFG pizza pizza!
Apr 26 05:15:00 6m 00s salt Another salt/slugs/snail game. This makes it the fifth I've seen so far, including mine. Oh well, at least we're not in the fart game club =).
Apr 26 05:21:00 6m 00s Fencing in Wonderland My flamingo's head came off and kept attacking. Then my opponents flamingo became a freebird on it's own. An already absurd game became completely possessed! Freakin' hilarious.
Apr 26 17:46:00 12h 25m Udom Nebdon I like shaders that you used to give this a retro CGA/EGA look. Really well done game. It took a bit getting used to control the character, but I got used to it really quick. I really wish this game had a run button.
Apr 26 18:05:00 19m 00s Ninja Swapper "NinjaSwapperWindows.zip is malicious, and chrome has blocked it". Kind of a nasty message I get on Windows. Only saw it with this game.
Apr 26 18:22:00 17m 00s Cut! Really different kind of game! Impressive that you used your own engine and entered this into the compo. I love playing games like these.
Apr 26 18:33:00 11m 00s RocketStep I like the concept of this game and it was pretty well executed. I had a problem where the character wasn't restrained to the arena. I could just keep running forever it seemed.
Apr 26 18:36:00 3m 00s Angry Beavers Where is the restart cycle? I could only play one game in Windows.
Apr 27 16:51:00 22h 15m Arduino Cat Great game for teaching kids basic of programming.
May 1 04:41:00 83h 50m Teed Off Cool idea for a game, very different kind of game. Fits the theme well, had nice graphics, great audio and was fun to play! Well done!
May 1 04:46:00 5m 00s Nögg Saber Nice game after I got used to the characters speed and height jump. Big complaint was that I had to take my hands off the keyboard and click "Start Game". Should have just made the game restart with any key hit. I also don't like using the 1 key as attack, it would have been better if it was z,x, shift or ctrl.
May 1 04:52:00 6m 00s KNIGHT Seems a bit unfinished, I didn't see the life bar go down at all. Her movement was a bit cumbersome and slow. It also seemed that the cloned enemies were weaker than the originals, but I guess that is how you made it. It seems like a decent idea, but not for sure if it was executed the best.
May 1 05:02:00 10m 00s Shadows Decent game, like that you used pure WebGL/Javascript. There is another similar game I've played where you have a sphere of light that helps you out to solve puzzles. Unfortunately, I can't see far enough back in my history to tell you which game it is!
May 1 16:22:00 11h 20m Hug Arena I like that I can just run this in the browser. I also like how easy it is to just restart the game.
May 2 03:34:00 11h 12m Quality Television wtf did I just play? MegaZeux.. giving your games that modern 1994 feel.
May 2 05:49:00 2h 15m Snow story A little too "christmassy" for a Spring Ludum Dare. But hey at least it's a HTML5 game that plays!
May 2 05:53:00 4m 00s Braids Another great Construct 2 game.Though I didn't see the difference between the brush, pot and hair dryer except the time it takes to recharge them. Cute game, well done!
May 2 17:47:00 11h 54m Gun Gun Evolution This game just gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on! I played the compo version, so I imagine you fixed the bugs with enemies being generated outside of the dungeon as well as your character? High fun factor from me, but pretty far from the theme. The graphics were also very humorous.
May 2 18:12:00 25m 00s Jeremy Johnston You really need a better mechanic than refreshing the page to restart. What I do is have an init() function and two functions which call requestAnimationFrame() on themselves, gameloop() and gamover(). On startup, init() resets the world and calls requestAnimationFrame() on gameloop(). If the gameover condition occurs (e.g. a saw hits your character) in gameloop() it calls gameover(), otherwise gameloop() calls requestAnimationFrame() on itself. The gameover() loop calls itself until the restart condition is met (such as hitting a space bar) and then calls init() to restart the cycle. <br/> <br/>There is another issue where the game is creating tons of div elements in the page structure in Chrome. No sure what that is about. It might be causing the lag huo-cuo is mentioning. <br/> <br/>Like Liam said, you should also host this somewhere. That's the beauty of HTML5 games, they can be run right in the browser! <br/> <br/>The game itself isn't bad, but paint is a pretty old "weapon". There was an old arcade game called "Make Trax" where you had to paint the entire board in a maze game reminiscent of Pac-Man. Also check out Splatoon, an upcoming game from Nintendo on the Wii-U. <br/> <br/>Nice entry, glad to see someone else making HTML/JS games with Three.js.
May 2 18:24:00 12m 00s Lucid I can't believe this is a freakin' compo entry... we might have a winner here! Plus you made this in Lua?! REPLs are nice aren't they? Really well done game!
May 2 19:13:00 49m 00s Super Worm Fanning Very different kind of game. What made you think of keeping warms off of a cloud? hah!
May 2 19:25:00 12m 00s GLOV3.1 What an interesting take on Sokoban. Normally a game which lets you shoot would be not be considered to be using an unconventional weapon... however in sokoban it is! Especially the way you pulled it off.
May 2 21:32:00 2h 07m slappy the frog goes to town Cute game... though I would have preferred better control over the frog tongue. Good job!
May 2 21:37:00 5m 00s BIO FIGHT! Nice game. Construct 2 &gt;&gt;&gt; Unity by far! I especially liked the audio.
May 2 21:41:00 4m 00s Street Of Disrespect Kind of reminds me of River City Ransom
May 2 23:08:00 1h 27m Stoned Scarecrow Great graphics.
May 3 01:54:00 2h 46m X-11 "Gust Gunner" Asking for donations for a Ludum Dare entry is LAME. I had a problem where I would get stuck inside of the platform near the first big jump. I also don't like the fact that the game is full screen with no way to quit (at least not that I could discern). Of course, I still have to give it a good rating because it's a lot better than 90% of what I've played so far and certainly better than my entry.
May 3 02:05:00 11m 00s Lumber Jacques I liked the music and found this to be a very humorous game.
May 3 02:12:00 7m 00s Taggit! Thought the idea was good, but I think it would have been much better with a WASD/Space control scheme than a follow-the-mouse click. I thought the music went with it really well though. I also think it should have had a larger screen size.
May 3 02:42:00 30m 00s Glatto Boy Really nice world, I especially like the checkpoints. The weapon was "Kirbyesque". I had a problem where sometimes when I would land on the platforms, I would get stuck in the middle of one. I had to jump to get back on the surface. This really screwed the timing for moving platform jumps and made the platforms near the Saturn more frustrating than they should have been. Simple music went well with the game. I really wanted to give this game higher ratings but just couldn't give 5/5's due to the poor controls.
May 3 02:44:00 2m 00s Maniac killing zombies with shoes! Other than the fact that you called it a shoe, your weapon is for all intent and purpose a gun.
May 3 02:46:00 2m 00s Smiling Rockets No instructions, guess we are just supposed to figure out how to play it ourselves :P
May 3 17:44:00 14h 58m Banana Nana Holy crap.. a NES game.. written in assembler?!?!? This is and the game I saw written in Lua are the most impressive things I've seen so far. Good work!
May 3 18:12:00 28m 00s Harvest Boom Ugh.. another name your own price download... LAME. When I see that, it immediately gets my grumpy criticism meter to 100%.
May 3 18:21:00 9m 00s What kind of power is Heart Cute game!
May 3 18:28:00 7m 00s Wok Quest! Fun, interesting game. The enemies are kind of pushovers though. Oh well, still had fun playing this game through to the end! High marks from me!
May 3 19:18:00 50m 00s carena This game is pretty hilarious. Nicely done.
May 3 22:04:00 2h 46m Limb by Limb It's a previous hilarious game... reminds me of a Daddy Long Leg. Very weird game.. good job!
May 4 02:31:00 4h 27m Red Scarf You really should have this hosted somewhere. "Web" links are meant for games that are actually hosted, not direct links to files containing HTML. No browser can run it from a local disk because phaser is using cross origin requests. For example, the error in Chrome: XMLHttpRequest cannot load file:///Users/james/Downloads/LD/assets/AlGard.fnt. Cross origin requests are only supported for protocol schemes: http, data, chrome, chrome-extension, https, chrome-extension-resource.
May 4 02:51:00 20m 00s Scream(But not too much) Opening is way too long and the sound is way too loud. Respect the player!
May 4 03:07:00 16m 00s This Fart of Mine I couldn't stop laughing at the title, reminds me of 'Not without my Anus'. The game itself is like a parody of Indie/Mobile games. High humor score from me.
May 5 00:49:00 21h 42m Velo-City This is one of those games where you paid attention to detail. Just being able to quit the game with the escape button is something a lot of Unity games lack! I like how you have a leader board with this game. I like how the columns are built up out of triangles right before your eyes. Though maybe not the most impressive graphically in terms of textures, you did a great job building the scene with just columns. Nicely done!
May 5 15:48:00 14h 59m BED✰HOGG Wow, a 2 player fighting game with AI.. that's not something I've seen yet! Good job on that. Also, graphics and audio were well done. It's nice that it is in Flash so I can just run it in my browser. Good work!
May 5 16:06:00 18m 00s RELIC Cute game. I kept getting stuck on the platforms, had to wait a second to "stabilize" before I could jump again. Don't feel too bad, this happens in a lot of Unity games. High marks for humor and graphics from me.
May 5 17:09:00 1h 03m Soulstealer Cool game, glad it was my 282th (aka 10% of all entrants)! At first it seemed a bit hard, but I "beat" it. Was the Mandrake supposed to be on a timer? High marks from me, good job!
May 7 16:07:00 46h 58m Planet Cleaner y u no WASD?
May 7 16:57:00 50m 00s the name of the game is grab Well done leaderboard.
May 7 17:05:00 8m 00s Pocket Squad Music on gameover is incredibly loud on my Mac in Chrome.
May 8 16:50:00 23h 45m UnCUMventional Weapon Nobody has their triggers set off where the point of the game is to kill as many humans as possible with a clearly psychopathic protagonist. But make one game where the point is to hunt down your ex to kill her with a dildo and everyone loses their minds.
May 8 23:51:00 7h 01m Frazzle Dazzle Good game.. high marks from me. It is funny how there is another game where you use air as a weapon and to hover.. X-11. Guess the idea is just something that's "in the air".
May 9 00:16:00 25m 00s Adventure Lamp Very cute game, well done sound and graphics!
May 10 18:03:00 41h 47m Truly magical cat I like the simple, yet very effective graphics. High marks for me on that. The thing I didn't like was that I had to restart the game because my characters got stuck. I also wish I could have just pushed a key through the dialogue. The graphics are what makes it really shine. The audio was also simple, yet effective. Good job.
May 11 14:58:00 20h 55m Grow My Thing 41 inches and my dick is so long it falls on the floor.
