Aug 28 17:11:00 Cellar I was unable to play this because it requires Mac OS 10.8, and I'm still on 10.6; trying to compile from source also failed because of some dependencies on 10.8. <br/>It would be really cool if you could supply more builds (hell, I'd even take windows :)).
Aug 28 17:13:00 2m 00s Nom Noms: Evolution +1 on the above :(
Aug 28 17:37:00 24m 00s Lepidopter Attack The idea of enemies getting meaner by natural - erm, player selection :) is not bad. <br/>I found the game not fun, though, mostly because there is no clear indication of what kills the moths - is it just ball contact, or does it require a certain amount of force? The correlation between my clicking and them dying was not that clear, and with balls jumping all around, I did not feel any real control over the selection process.
Aug 28 17:47:00 10m 00s Robot wars It is very difficult to become engaged in this because the player has absolutely no control over the action and no real stake in the results. The depiction and characterization of the combatants only through numbers and subtle color changes leaves a lot to be desired. I would have liked to be more emotionally involved as a player!
Aug 28 17:53:00 6m 00s EvoWord Hey, this looks interesting, but I get a crash report on Mac OS 10.6; something about "Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib". Will try the windows version later on.
Aug 28 18:15:00 22m 00s Dawkemon Are there any more rooms than the four test chambers in the lab? Because I could not find them; it was very hard to stay oriented without directional clues (like "to the west there is a door that leads outside"), relying only on the cardinal directions apparent from the menu. I also encountered 2 game-ending, unwinnable fights withing the first four rooms, which is not the way that 'fun' is usually spelled :( <br/> <br/>A hint at which of the numerous .py-files runs the actual game (Dawkemon.py) would have been a nice gesture, too.
Aug 28 18:20:00 5m 00s A Game of Life Hey, this unzips into a directory called 'pp' which has the structure of an app bundle, but isn't one. If I turn it into one by appending .app to the name, it won't run regardless. Can you fix this?
Aug 28 18:41:00 21m 00s The World Hates You I concur: this is a consistent experience like the previous comment indicates. The scope is clear, the execution is clean and tight. Controls work very well. <br/> <br/>I would welcome a button for 'This level is evidently possible, but not for me'. Also: The World Hates YOU for naming your file LD24.zip – can you imagine how many of those I have flying around right now?
Aug 28 18:45:00 4m 00s Darwin's Apple In fact, the link does not even work. Did you just post this to tell us how busy you are?
Aug 28 18:58:00 13m 00s Schrodinger's Kittens Cool idea! I like the two-tiered motivation that crops up: first, save the red kitten as long as possible - afterwards, save just any kitten :) <br/> <br/>By the way, you could mention Zynga more often :/ Seriously though, I'm here for your game, not your employment history.
Aug 28 19:16:00 18m 00s Edric Garran's Amazing Shooter Is it possible for you to create an executable for this? I'd like to avoid installing Go right now...
Aug 28 19:31:00 15m 00s Ludum Card Evolution I'm afraid this fails on my Mac OS 10.6 with Java version 1.6.0_33 saying: <br/>Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: cat/atridas87/ld24/LD24 : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0 <br/> <br/>Are there any dependencies one should know about?
Aug 28 20:02:00 31m 00s AdapTanks I found this game rather hard due to the fast bullets and the enemies' tendency to spawn right next to the player, so I only ever got 5-10 kills. I'd have loved to see the evolution more pronounced, but I guess that's what I get for being bad at the game ;) The looping background music and the high-pitched shooting sound were quite annoying, tho.
Aug 28 20:19:00 17m 00s Triple Threat Nice game! I really liked the impossible mind-jumble of thinking up the most effective movements for the particular configuration at any moment, and how changing it every round 'shuffles the deck' each time :)
Aug 28 20:29:00 10m 00s Upward Mankind The music is cool, but the rest of the game could really have used a bit more diversion; right now the only real 'challenge' is to not fall into a pit. Thumbs up on the color choices! :)
Aug 28 20:48:00 19m 00s Bored Bob Outstanding! The pieces fit really well together: the soft music and the winged protagonists flying over snow-covered mountain ranges convey a sort of solemn piety, contrasted very fittingly by those scattered piano notes of violence :) <br/> <br/>I especially like the faces of those minions; some of them are not too happy about being drafted for your purposes :D
Aug 28 21:02:00 14m 00s Oculus Battalion I like the idea and especially the graphics, but I had difficulties minding both my NPCs and myself – multitasking under pressure, guess :P <br/>The controls felt rather wonky, but I'll blame part of that on my mouse, which is often polled far too sensitive by Unity in general.
Aug 29 00:06:00 3h 04m Chrysalis Choice Not really a game per se, but a very nice approach to the theme. I wonder if a slightly more involved system - with more functions than just 'attaching', putting more weight on player intent, having the growth assemble less randomly - would already remedy the perceived lack of control over the results. But then again, it could also destroy the beautiful simplicity...
Aug 29 00:22:00 16m 00s Cosmogonie Beautiful!
Aug 29 00:43:00 21m 00s Darwin's Ark (Web) This hits the sweet spot between too little and too much choice &amp; interaction in evolution! :) I found myself cringing in despair - when I could not do anything to help the Mincertrons _right_now_ - or exhilarated - when an evolutionary choice worked out just splendid - on several occasions. Really involving little game!
Aug 29 01:01:00 18m 00s LimiT Fine little katamari-like with a twist ending :) Nice!
Aug 29 11:27:00 10h 26m Path to a New Species I got frustrated after typing all the permutations that I could think of for 5 minutes without the parser recognizing any one of them. The IF systems that Porpentine mentioned have some nice approaches to orient the player and ease the experience; maybe you can take some inspiration from there. It would be a shame if your work went to waste just because of inacessability.
Aug 29 11:30:00 3m 00s Neurochronic Alien Fighter: Evolution! Please do, because right now the script exits with an Error saying it's missing pygame.
Aug 29 11:54:00 24m 00s Culture Clash I found the evolution cycles too long, especially since there is not much going on in that petri dish :) I also got the feeling that the evolutionary perks were of diminished consequence because of the low difficulty in general. Aside from that this game looks and plays pretty solid, e.g. the assets are complete and fit very well together.
Aug 29 11:58:00 4m 00s My "Game", Stones and Lasers Same here, for both the web and the offline version :(
Aug 29 12:05:00 7m 00s Demonevolution It felt very futile to play this - there is no way to see which minions are stronger than others before attacking, so there is apparently nothing else to do than run into all the minions. I have no idea how to 'improve my playing', which was obviously not good enough, because I died before becoming a demon.
Aug 29 12:19:00 14m 00s Bubble Wars Kept me playing for quite a while, although 'evolution' appeared random - my attacks changed properties rather wildly between fights. Would love to see this developed with more focus on player intent. <br/> <br/>And I believe you could mark the file as 'Web', since Flash also runs on other platforms than windows.
Aug 29 21:25:00 9h 06m And Thus She Spake This is fun! I like that touching bigger or poisonous blobs does not instantly kill you, but gives a bit of leeway, making navigation a lot easier. <br/>Once I discovered that you can zip around almost unharmed when jerking the mouse fast enough, it even became a bit too easy ;)
Aug 29 21:32:00 7m 00s Concealing the truth This is a fun idea &amp; the graphics are nicely done, but the gameplay could use some variation :P
Aug 29 21:38:00 6m 00s Kill It Hah! Nice one. <br/>I like the graphics and layout in their bold simplicity. I also adore how 'attacking' makes the protagonist smack the blob regardless of the weapon (sword, spear, assault rifle) used :D Very cool.
Aug 30 16:16:00 18h 38m Mystic Evolution Quest It's very rough and there is not much to do but hey, you've made a game! Congratulations! :)
Aug 31 16:17:00 24h 01m Pasazh Nice game, quite polished pixel art!
Aug 31 16:25:00 8m 00s Evu for life Although I applaud the idea and the completeness of the execution, I was quickly frustrated by the controls and the level design; I got the impression that my input only moved the player very slowly, while other forces - gravity or flying - moved him very quickly.
Aug 31 17:02:00 37m 00s Jump'o'lution Cool concept! Of course, as others have already noted, it can be very frustrating - but I guess that's part of the deal :)
Aug 31 17:10:00 8m 00s Feesh. Congrats on your first game! Like others, this reminded me of flOw. And katamari damashi ;) <br/>In the beginning it was hard to judge the speed without reference points, e.g. when there are no other feesh on screen. It was easy going once I found them, though.
Aug 31 17:14:00 4m 00s Who cares evolution? Fun! Although the controls could be tighter, and - God's shoe is awfully small :)
Aug 31 17:24:00 10m 00s minogear Smart meta-game curveball at the theme!
Aug 31 17:34:00 10m 00s Death Hockey Awesome! Good basic idea, nice controls and graphics, 150% Boost for the janitor! :D
Aug 31 17:53:00 19m 00s Survival of Polyminos Excellent idea, evolution picks up a little slow though - either that, or my tetris skills are just too bad to get the ball rolling ;)
Aug 31 18:15:00 22m 00s Maple Love the sounds &amp; the atmosphere of a slow-moving space vehicle! Although the core mechanic is of course very Captain Forever, I wouldn't ditch it just for that; there are a lot of things that CF does not even remotely explore, and I'd say that 'shooting things' is only one among the many cool scenarios one can imagine in space. How about space station docking maneuver simulation, for instance? :)
Aug 31 20:15:00 2h 00m Death Cell The music and atmosphere are magnificent!
