| Aug 28 03:25:00 | Ivan the Infection | Darn, I was hoping that I'd be able to gain immunity by getting hit by an enemy of a certain color! If your health slowly regenerated, you could play it that way, where you can only build up immunity to one color, so you have to choose - kind of like Ikaruga except way slower... | |
| Aug 28 03:44:00 | 19m 00s | Modula | I like the idea of it, and the way turning is tied to left and right movement was cool, but there was one big frustration with it - I would quickly get my guns shot off and then have nothing to do but kill myself to get a new life. Because of that I never got into the flow of it. |
| Aug 28 04:02:00 | 18m 00s | One Last Chance | Great concept, I enjoyed the change of perspective - didn't quite see the connection to "evolution" though... Navigating the rooms was a bit clumsy, especially without the ability to back up.

Cool to see a more storytelling-focused approach pay off. Nice. :) |
| Aug 28 04:24:00 | 22m 00s | Living Tales | Interesting - I wish I were better able to understand the dynamics and relationships between the objects I added. It didn't help that a lot of the time they appeared overlapped with each other and I couldn't see everything... |
| Aug 28 04:48:00 | 24m 00s | Crab | I really like the way you create a mood with the art and sound, and I like the pixel art. I like how the avatar is more abstract, a red bubble rather than a person walking around - I think the game is actually better because of it. It would have been nice to have the experience a little more fleshed out, but overall it was great.

I just don't see the connection to the theme at all... |
| Aug 28 05:03:00 | 15m 00s | Species | I liked the mood, but found the awkward movement distracting. Later on, the pacing felt broken by how long it took to walk around, while my hand started to hurt. I also found it removed a lot of fear once it seemed that I couldn't actually get hurt. |
| Aug 28 05:10:00 | 7m 00s | Evolution Is A Boring Theme | Yay, I got to the credits song! :)

Really funny. But I have to say, there's no such thing as a "boring" theme, only uncreative game designers. ;) |
| Aug 28 05:15:00 | 5m 00s | 'Volver | I tried to play but couldn't figure out what was going on. |
| Aug 28 05:25:00 | 10m 00s | Future Rabbit | Awesome graphics! :D I like the simplicity of the gameplay, the nice way it fits together. And the cute humor of the story and setting is nice too. |
| Aug 28 05:32:00 | 7m 00s | Mesh | I really like the concept. I've thought along these lines too before, and I think there is a lot of potential to explore here.

I think I'd prefer to play this as an action game rather than a puzzle game. I like the feel of swiping off pixels, but I think it would flow a bit better if the broken-off pixels moved around less, so there's not this big break in the action just to collect them again. And I would have liked to be able to collect the pixels and have them add to my structure, not just repair my structure. |
| Aug 28 05:35:00 | 3m 00s | Hotdoggin | Heh, that was quick. :P I beat up one guy and then I win? Not sure if that's a bug or not...

I like the dancing palm trees. |
| Aug 28 05:39:00 | 4m 00s | Survival of the Fittest | I liked the art a lot. The movement felt slow relative to the spaciousness of the environments - though maybe that was just my computer being slow, I'm not sure. |
| Aug 28 05:44:00 | 5m 00s | Next Generation | I could not figure out how to choose to attack or mate. I could only move around and starve to death. :( |
| Aug 28 05:49:00 | 5m 00s | UN-Natural Selection | Works great for me. :) Really glad to see a game that actually involves evolution as the basic mechanic. |
| Aug 28 05:55:00 | 6m 00s | Evo | I would have liked it a lot better if the player movement speed were much faster. Why put an artificial barrier between my understanding and my implementation of that understanding? |
| Aug 28 06:02:00 | 7m 00s | Darwin Defenders | Nice! I'm really glad to see a game with evolving enemies like this. :) The fixed-direction shooting is a great way to make the ship design significant.

I couldn't tell what the orange spikes are for - at first I was hoping I could use them to ram other ships... Repeatedly clicking to shoot was tiring and unpleasant, though. It was a lot more fun once I got a second gun - maybe you could make those more likely to appear. I would have liked to see the enemies speed up once I got more powerful. It gets boring otherwise. |
| Aug 28 06:09:00 | 7m 00s | GiRL2501 | Sadly all I got was audio and a bunch of vertical lines of various colors. I'm guessing it's my computer's fault. |
| Aug 28 06:17:00 | 8m 00s | Unstable Planet | I couldn't run either executable, even after running the OpenAL installer. :( I was hoping to try this game, because I'm really curious about the procedural level generation... |
| Aug 28 06:21:00 | 4m 00s | CellAnt | It seems promising, and I like the pixel ants, but nothing I did seemed to affect the game... :( |
| Aug 28 06:23:00 | 2m 00s | Tokemon! VI : Struggle for eternity | I see only a source link... Something playable would be helpful if you want to get more ratings. |
| Aug 28 06:27:00 | 4m 00s | BATTLE ARENA PARTY 7! | I liked the concept, and the music is awesome. But there is no feedback during the battle to see how the stats and abilities are put into play. I think there could be a lot of potential here, it's just too invisible... |
| Aug 28 06:30:00 | 3m 00s | Defend The Galaxy | The turning speed is so slow and the bullets are so tiny that it is really hard to aim to hit even one circle. Some tuning would help a lot. I don't see the evolution theme though. |
| Aug 28 06:34:00 | 4m 00s | Treevolution | Art and music were great, personality and humor were great too. I wish the game moved faster so I spent more time making choices and less waiting for the animation to hurry up already. Maybe my computer just chugs when the tree gets too leafy. :P But still.

It would be great to see this on an iPhone or something. Something faster. |
| Aug 28 06:38:00 | 4m 00s | Triple Threat | Cool concept - would have been nice to try playing against someone. Also, I had a hard time seeing the whole screen on my 1024x758 laptop... |
| Aug 28 06:44:00 | 6m 00s | Deal with It | I fell through the floor in the first level and couldn't respawn. :( |
| Aug 28 06:49:00 | 5m 00s | GONADS | Just got a blank gray page. Couldn't play. Sorry, looked really cool from the screen shots. |
| Aug 28 07:11:00 | 22m 00s | Kitty Breeder 2012 | Great music. I like the concept and the personality of the game. I found the colors hard to tell apart - maybe they could be more saturated. I also found it hard to know how to affect things in a useful way - there was no way to remove kitties that I didn't want... |
| Aug 28 07:15:00 | 4m 00s | Pixelomoeba | Nice concept. I found it hard to manage six keys at once - the turning was a bit much, but I'd probably get used to it with practice. More fluid mouse controls with ragdolling attachments and a fast pace could be awesome... |
| Aug 28 07:40:00 | 25m 00s | Evolution Defense | Yay, I beat it! It would have been really nice if on the upgrade screen, it actually showed you how many points you had and how much things cost. Even further, bring up the upgrade screen at natural points so the player doesn't have to think of doing it - I died the first time because I had no idea I had any money to spend in the first place... |
| Aug 28 07:41:00 | 1m 00s | CritterLab | @mappum that sounds just like the game I made, Ninjural Selection. :P |
| Aug 28 07:45:00 | 4m 00s | Evolution Strategy (Web) | I wasn't even sure what color I was supposed to be controlling... I went for the fried eggs. :) |
| Aug 28 07:48:00 | 3m 00s | Dig, Jesus! Dig! | Heh, almost like Tetris... in reverse, somehow. I like the way digging feels. :P |
| Aug 28 08:11:00 | 23m 00s | Threevolution | Really nice mechanics - reminded me of Triple Town (in a good way). I think it could have worked better with a different theme - the "grass, bush, tree, hut" progression of Triple Town worked better then the "one circle, two circle, three circle" of this game. Could be worth expanding on. |
| Aug 28 08:15:00 | 4m 00s | Firefly | Sounds really cool - glad to see actual evolution mechanics - but wouldn't run on my computer. :( |
| Aug 28 08:36:00 | 21m 00s | Darwinphony | Once I watched the video, then I had fun with this! Very nice. :) |
| Aug 28 09:10:00 | 34m 00s | Guppies | I had my eyes closed the first time I got eaten. That was really scary! (in a good way) :D |
| Aug 28 09:14:00 | 4m 00s | Existence : Evolving with Videogames | I really liked the style of the first world, but I got stuck trying to jump up the building on the second. How is it possible? |
| Sep 13 04:44:00 | 379h 30m | Oculus Battalion | I like the art style (the overall mood is cool) but I am terrible at FPS controls, especially with the mouse as twitchy as this. I kept dying right away. I would have appreciated if the vertical axis were ignored, like in Doom, where you just have to aim side-to-side. |
| Sep 13 04:50:00 | 6m 00s | Hard Life 3X | Really intriguing mechanics, but maybe tuned a bit too hard at first. Would be nice to ease into it more. Worth exploring further! :) |
| Sep 13 05:12:00 | 22m 00s | LimiT | I liked the art, and I was disappointed that I could not get past the second stage, the jumping creature. |
| Sep 13 05:20:00 | 8m 00s | The life of Cat | I really liked the music. I liked the concept too, but I was disappointed at how un-cat-like the experience was. I tried to pretend that it was an imaginary non-cat creature so I could enjoy it better. ;) |
| Sep 13 05:34:00 | 14m 00s | Cellception | I couldn't find any red cells smaller than me. :( |
| Sep 13 06:11:00 | 37m 00s | Cubevo | Awesome mood. This could be like a weird game-like dream. It feels so cool. The gameplay was confusing at first, but I kind of enjoyed figuring it out. And the tedious completionistic filling-in of every box actually appeals to me, because I get to see the world transform as I do it (and the EvoGem rewards help too). I really enjoyed seeing that first 6 box hidden across the water, and trying to figure out how to get across.

One of my favorites in the competition so far! :D |
| Sep 13 06:22:00 | 11m 00s | Soul Jar | Awesome art and mood. It's some of the most inspiring pixel art for a game I've ever seen, 48 hours or not! I liked the beginning few minutes but I couldn't seem to get very far... |
