| Mind Wall | On a scale from 1-5, this is infinitely good.

I truly loved this game. It was great fun to play, it seemed innovative to me (I've never seen a game quite like this), and it was beautifully executed. I think this game is probably the one that's come closest to all 5:s from me in any Ludum Dare.

Absolutely outstanding. :)
| Bunny Press | I enjoyed playing this game! Nice polish and graphics, and lovely carrot-eating :)

I really missed a restart button, though, as I've already mentioned to you.

Well done! | ||
| We Control the Purple Creature | I really like the concept, but the the difficulty needs to be balanced some. As I've already said, something to encourage raids into enemy territory, paired with increased difficulty, would've made the gameplay last longer.

While I like the graphics, I think it's too hard to distinguish the player from the orbiting purple dots. Perhaps the player should be bigger or in another color entirely (white?). I also think I agree with Xion in that there is a bit too much static.

Some of these issues have already been addressed in the post-compo version, which is a clear improvement of the final version.

I'd actually like to see this turned into a full game, with more features being introduced as you play (every one or two levels or so) - it could make for great strategic gameplay. Also, I wonder how this would work in multiplayer!

Well done! :) | ||
| Harbinger | Very innovative, I love the idea!

The wall of doom is adorable! And I really like the character animations for the player character as well.

The gameplay doesn't quite do it for me. It needs to be a bit more fast-paced, I think.

Great work! :) | ||
| Happy Blob is Unhappy! | Much like the other commenters, I don't think the theme isn't really there. But you know, I can only complain so much about that...

Great game. Very difficult. But Happy Blob loves me after all. Awww... :D

Gameplay, graphics and sound are all awesome.

As usual, an excellent entry from you! :)
| Standard Waiver | I was very impressed by this game. I admit that I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much if I hadn't seen and used the map, so maybe I'm biased by stuff from after the judging... but I loved it. And at the end... well, I didn't see that coming. Took me by surprise! :)

Great atmosphere, intriguing gameplay and plenty of polish - well done!
| Extinguish | Lovely graphics. The darkness effect is really beautiful.

The game could use a bit more variation - moving enemies would be cool.

Great game overall. Well done! :)
| Snap To Grid | I have not been able to solve the puzzle... but that didn't stop me from trying. More than just a few times! :)

I really enjoyed this game. The game idea is excellent. The graphical style is also great - well done!

One thing that bothered me a bit is that you have to click in the orange areas. Since they're in different grid positions anyway, you could've had the entire rectangle clickable.

Great work! :) | ||
| Title Unknown | This is impressive from a technical perspective, and quite fun to play. The controls could use a bit of refinement though. I didn't quite like the high "tower" part of level 5 (which I haven't managed to complete, it's just too hard for me).

Overall, a great entry that could use some further polish :)
| DoomDrive | I enjoyed this game for a while. The physics have a great feel to them! However, the lack of a scoring mechanism or goal hurts gameplay in the long run.

Well done! :) | ||
| Wall Defence | Advancing wall of doom? More life advancing life-saving wall to the rescue! Well, apart from the fact that it kills, I suppose. And the fact that it uses your village as construction material.

Great idea. I definitely enjoyed playing this game. I got 208 points on my second try. :) I get the feeling that maybe sacrificing a hut or two would've been worth it to avoid using so much wall material... but I didn't really try to balance that trade-off, I just sent walls onto all the bad guys.

I tried brutal briefly, played without any real strategy, and ended up on 379 points on my first try there... and I died pretty fast. Perhaps the scoring shouldn't be multiplied so much by the level, I don't know. I liked brutal, though :)

Nice graphics, good use of sound, excellent polish. Well done!
| Stormwall | First of all, one important point of critique: The choice of "Enter" as the start key was not a great one. You want to have one hand on the mouse and one on the arrow keys when you start, and on my laptop keyboard, this doesn't really work with enter to start. "Any key" or "Click" would've worked better.

The game is hard, very hard. On the first 10 or 20 tries I think I averaged about 2 seconds. My average now is probably upwards of 20, but it's still hard for me. I do enjoy it though, it's fun. It's also very pretty :)

Well done! | ||
| superflat’s Balls Of Legend [Mac / PC] | This game is far too punishing. I died two times after playing for a long while, both times thanks to silly mistakes. And I had to start all over again. The second time, I just gave up. I don't want to play that same first bit over and over again. That long level desperately needs to be replaced by several short levels. Or have some sort of checkpoint system.

This is probably the most visually pleasing game I've judged so far. Stunning!

It was also a great deal of fun until those deaths. If I'd never died and noticed that issue, I might have given you a 5 for fun. As it is, I'm going to have to detract from that score. Or perhaps polish, I'm not sure. :/

On a side note: Windows's "compressed folder" couldn't deal with your ZIP, I had to extract it with winrar. Something to think about for future contests. :)

Overall, an excellent entry. Lovely work!
| arcticum | That is one extensive journal you've got going on there! Good work!

Now, to the game:
I really enjoyed playing it! Once. It doesn't have much in the way of replay value, but that's fine with me. The survival mode wasn't quite as entertaining.

I like the graphics, but bugs where the polygons get corrupted and / or drawn erroneously were fairly common.

I think the sound was a bit repetitive, but decent.

The game crashed instead of telling me I won. I will subtract some polish points for this...

I know from experience how tricky deformable polygon terrain can be, so well done there!

Overall, great work! :)
| Heart | Conceptually interesting and a daring take on the competition. While I like a good story as much as anybody, this just about crosses the line to short film for me. I certainly wouldn't say there's any gameplay to speak of.

Great graphical style though. The music is nice and moody, and the game is impressively polished.
| Rock Bank; Rock your way through the working day! | I found this very confusing. It's like GH or Rockband, only so elaborate that I don't stand a chance on easy.

Pretty cool idea though, and great music. Good going :)
| Wallcraft | Pretty sweet game! I enjoyed playing it. Very nice use of sounds and effects, and cute sprites.

Good work! :) | ||
| By Touching It With Your Spikes | I like the idea, but the implementation is a bit rushed. No surprise there, it's Ludum Dare after all :>

Having the first (and only?) level be impossible detracts a bit from the gameplay.

I think this could turn into an interesting game with some more work :)
| The extravagantly excellent game about a ball shooting walls extreme hd turbo remix plus alpha EX 2000: the legacy: the movie: the game | Contrary to the other commenters, I don't think this really starts out too hard. However, it is something of an issue that you become immortal if you fall off the screen... :)

With some more fleshing out the concept this could probably be pretty cool. I can see this game working equally well without gravity, and powerups you could run around and collect... :)

A tip for next time: Stuff like "Drawing, input and timers" sounds like it could be part of a library, in which case you could prepare that in advance and upload it to the blog (so it doesn't take as much time in the contest). As long as you keep gameplay out of it. :>
| Speed Blazer | This is quite an enjoyable racing game. The speed increase/decrease mechanism bothers me a bit though. When you've slowed down it seems you can freely accelerate up to your "last max speed", but you can't go above that without hitting a speed booster. As far as I could tell...

Very nice graphics. Great work! :)

On a side note, it's probably a good thing I'm not judging the post-compo version... it killed off my computer quite efficiently.
| Advance 2 – Aftermath | The graphics are astonishing for 48 hours. Audio is also sweet - just what I'd expect from you. :)

I'm not so sure about the gameplay, though. The concept isn't bad, but it could use a few more elements.

Well done! :) | ||
| Hello | I laughed out loud when playing it - always a good sign, and far too rare when playing games these days.

It's also a good sign that after completing it, I let the window stay open for a while just to hear the pretty chirping. :>

Although the game is a bit short (well, perhaps that's an understatement), I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well done! |
