LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Permit A-39 by kirroyal 2020-10-07T20:00:54Z

I like the look and the idea. It could be a really fun game to just poke at for a while and when you need to kill some time. The main thing I didn't care for was how hard it was to get on the stairs, the hitbox was a little to precise maybe. And I swear more than once I went to the counters in the exact order the clerk gave me and I was told I did it wrong. I'm not sure if that was a misunderstanding on my side or a bug. And the traversal of the different floors started to irritate me just a little bit, but I figure that was kind of the point in a way. It's definitely a creative take on the theme.

Lily Pad Drifters by bernard-bumblebutt 2020-10-06T01:54:32Z

I'm not sure I understand the game. I'm supposed to keep moving and eat flies, but it seems like eating flies hurts me because after I hit a few of them I die? But also not eating flies eventually kills me too? The general idea is interesting and the drifting is relatively fun but I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to do because everything eventually kills me.

Escape from LAB 2635 by Rein 2020-10-06T02:11:54Z

I was interested because this reminded me of some of the random low poly PC games I played when I was a kid. It just didn't quite come together for me though. With such a small view and narrow walkway I didn't feel like I could dodge the lasers effectively.

I like the premise. The relation to the theme didn't occur to me at first but it works. I think maybe the difficulty scaling on the levels was a little weird. Certain ones would give me a lot of trouble and then I would beat the next level on the first try, or when the springs were introduced on a spike-covered level without giving you a chance to learn them first. But it's pretty good for having been finished in a weekend. I could see this being updated with some graphics and BGM and other game-feel stuff and being made into a complete little platformer.

Color Loop by bubbadubc 2020-10-06T02:01:39Z

I'm into it but I definitely wish I had played it on my phone. My laptop has a touch screen and that made it a little more doable but It definitely isn't going to work with a mouse or a trackpad. The speed of the game probably needs to be adjusted because it did seem to ramp in difficulty a little too quickly, and combining that with adding so many more colors so quickly seemed to make the difficulty curve go up before I had really gotten comfortable. It's a neat design though.

The mood was definitely great in this game. I didn't get what I was supposed to be doing at first. I feel like it could've used just a little something more, but it was interesting.

Left you some feedback on itch.io. I agree it doesn't really feel like the theme but I think it would still be worth building this out into a full game.

The Check-Out Line by Tomodachi 2020-10-05T17:17:27Z

@basileios You didn't play long enough. There is an actual game there. Let it run for a few loops and see what happens. But I appreciate the amusement regardless.

@cake there are no mistakes, only happy accidents 😂

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad it was a fun experience.

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-06T01:47:23Z

I'm not sure what happened but my playthrough didn't have the flashlights either. If that function worked it would've been pretty damn fun. It's an interesting concept though and the zoom-out of each level is clever. For some reason the game was a little laggy for me at points but I don't know if that's my computer or something else.

I feel like I would enjoy the idea but I can't figure out what I'm doing. It seems like regardless of my combo of choices the reactor just overheats regardless. Definitely a tutorial or some kind of feedback would help.
