LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Road Weaver! by leviathon 2022-04-07T05:34:40Z

The buildings shrinking as you pan over them is such a cool touch, really makes the experience. I enjoyed the gameplay but I feel the difficulty progression could have been a little steadier. It goes from 2 to 3 fairly quickly but then stays at 3 cars for quite some time before 1 leaves and and is immediately replaced by 3 or 4 more (though that was a cool "Oh no!" moment having to juggle so many all of a sudden). With a little more balance on those difficulty transitions I think this could be a lot of fun and something I could lose a lot of time with. Great job!

Really nice art design. Agree that the font is difficult to read, though that could be considered part of the difficulty? A lot of information to try to retain too as you're defusing each situation, died the first time just reading through the manual not realizing there was a catastrophe brewing to me left. Could definitely see this as a fully fleshed out game with multiple levels and different switch/button setups.

Wow, what a terrifyingly dark narrative. I think the music could have been a little darker to better match the atmosphere but it works in it's own way as a kind of endless grating on the mind as you follow the MC's descent into madness with each passing day (and all those failed escape attempts in alternate timelines). Really cool idea, art style was on point, and gameplay itself was really smooth (Only issue I found was a few of the dialogue boxes had the kidnapper disappearing and reappearing). Great job!

Ah the stress! This raised my blood pressure faster than any other game I've played on here so far so bravo! Very interesting way to go with the theme, I dig it. Wish I could have seen what I was inputting and how much time was left (though not knowing made it even more stressful and that might have been the point?).

Took a couple rounds to get the hang of it but really tight experience. Very polished visuals and sound design, and the gameplay is really smooth. Great job.

Nice art design. The music goes a little crazy between scenes but otherwise nice little game. Enjoyed the ending dialogue as well, wouldn't mind seeing the fleshed out version.

Peter and the Pesky Puppets by agushmar 2022-04-07T02:16:28Z

I like the game and want to keep playing to try and beat it but I feel like I'm doing something wrong. The first couple runs I didn't see a single refill candle, then I had one run where the whole map was filled with refill candles (This is where I was able to figure out the puppets are the little toys and not the ghosts that kept running away from my light - might be helpful to have a little "puppet" notation with an arrow pointing to the little toy under the ghost in your visual guide that displays before playing, I was thinking you had to get the ghosts by giving them a toy initially from that image). After the candle filled run I did a few more with no candles showing up again, and this last one I didn't see any until I got to the library but it was just too far for my starting candle to make it so I died in the darkness. Are the spawns random? Do they need to be triggered by going into other rooms first? Otherwise really cool idea- exploring the map was fun and once you see all the rooms deciphering the riddles was pretty satisfying. I do wish some of the walls had been split into top/bottom sections to alleviate the layering issue with the player and the candle has a noticeable white outline that doesn't look like it was intentional but overall I think you did a really great job.

Really like the art style, reminded me of that new Tunic game. Aiming to throw can be a bit of a pain at times but otherwise smooth gameplay that's quick and simple to pick up. Great job.

Sinking Ship by Ines Brezavscek 2022-04-06T09:52:56Z

At first it starts out "this is pretty easy, no big deal." But as the water rises bit by bit and all those boards start adding up it really becomes a challenge seeing the leaks, which is a really cool buildup. Not sure if it was intended but once the floating boards covered the holes I was no longer able to patch them again, maybe too far under water at that point? Couple things I would have liked to see is some UI while playing showing the time played and maybe boards placed instead of just seeing it at the end, and a point in the game for those super quick on the mouse where a massive hole bursts out of the back and ends it automatically after so long or maybe a limit on how many boards you have to patch holes with and you have to break the boxes/barrels to get more or something. Overall great job though!
