LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Pre-Life by Cassio Eduardo 2018-12-08T10:24:16Z

The game works fine and especially because of its amount of content this is already a big achievement. Unfortunately the actions I can take and their consequences are super unclear. Its too much trail and error. But on the bright side its a very nice take on the theme.

I played quiet a while and had a lot of fun. Most things I could criticize are bugs regarding path findig or controls what would be very nick picky for a jam. Besides that there is a conflict between balancing and content: It takes to long to loose because at some point it becomes to repetitive without enough challenge or discovery. But all in all I think this is a great submission and a solid base for a bigger game.

ETA: Estimated Time Of Arrival by mechanicallife 2018-12-08T10:50:10Z

Cool game, the nice combination of well known titles was already mentioned by others. I wasn't able to figure out how to open the door in the third or fourth level so some guidance would be nice.

Let there bee sacrifices by Goplite 2018-12-08T11:42:23Z

Really cool game! It was super fun to be in control of a bee hive. What i disliked most is that you can easily run into a dead end if you run out of workers, drones and jelly. Then you cannot back on track but the game doesn't trigger a fail state. What would be super nice is to have a better recognizable cursor. I failed in some fights because I didn't see where my mouse was pointing. Overall a super cool idea that was very well executed.

Cultist of sacrifices by falak 2018-12-09T16:13:00Z

You managed to implement a lot of mechanics that's super cool! I liked it, the quests had a nice variation and it's a finished game. The sound was hilarious :D

The Delivery by OlavDeng2 2018-12-08T11:00:21Z

Besides the main story this is not much about sacrifice. I would have loved to make some decisions about which part of my ship I want to sacrifice in order to proceed.

Consilium - A history of life and choices by Gaming Night 2018-12-08T12:02:45Z

Cool game, super polished! My only complaint: I saw no reason not to hold down the left mouse button so it would be nice if the resources flow automatically and I have only to point on the tile and cycle through them.

Of Gods And Rain by Zinkler 2018-12-08T10:39:58Z

Wow! Great project and impressive character art. In general I enjoyed playing it but the main gameplay is a little slow and sometimes dull. The NPCs can be tricked to easily.

The Selfish King by TheRockRipper 2018-12-09T16:02:13Z

Ambitious plan for such a short time. I think this can be fun after a little polishing but with the current control issues (it's sometimes hard to perform attacks) and other bugs (I was not able to sacrifice because of a null reference) it's quiet clumsy. But as I said, I see where you are heading, nice game!

You can easily get stuck when you need a specific character to proceed but this character is already dead. Also it took a while until I learned what each character can do because I did not memorize everything written down on the start screen. Some hint while playing would be nice to help my memory. The interactive elements (like the pressure plate that opens a door when a box is placed on it) are not different enough from decorative elements, so it becomes a game of trial and error.

The amount of content you managed to create is stunning though.

The Chosen Sheep by Ellenack 2018-12-08T09:30:44Z

The second phase literally gave me goosebumps! Nice work there with the whispering and thunder storm. You achieved a super cool look in the short time available and everything matches very well. My biggest complain is about balancing: In the second part sheep move way faster, have more health and spawn faster all at once, that is a big ramp up in difficulty in comparison to the first part. Still it was more motivating than frustrating but a smoother difficulty curve would have resulted in a better and more fun experience. Another thing worth tweaking is the camera distance. I played on PC and when the shit hit the fan and I where chasing many very fast sheep I only focused on the sheep icons on the border of the screen rather than the actual visuals. Otherwise the time I have to react is too short. This is especially unfortunate because your game looks so nice. I can imagine though, that the current camera setup is better for mobile.

All in all, a perfectly scoped and well executed project that would be perfect with a little bit more tweaking.
