LD42 — Running out of space

Keys, Please! by Ellian 2018-08-16T01:43:12Z

I attempted to repark one of the cars that was already parked in the lot when the game began and quickly gave up on that idea as I immediately smashed into one of the other cars attempting to back out of the spot. I probably enjoyed smashing the cars into each other and the edges of the parking lot too much. Very cute little game!

I enjoyed the heck out of this. Its simple but made me smile! Very nice!

Daycare Dilemma by Random-storykeeper 2018-08-16T02:49:14Z

This is a really funny concept and pretty cute. The music feels almost too nice for this game? Like the music is more polished than the graphics and so it feels a little mismatched to me. It wasn't super clear to me at first which kitty and baby reactions warranted which items which left me dragging items over to them and failing to satisfy them and then them quickly leaving. Making it a little more obvious which items matched which reactions would have made it a little clearer.

This game definitely surpassed my expectations. I found the whole idea of it pretty amusing and it was easy to beat.

Reaper Boy LD42 (Remix) Edition by jessefreeman 2018-08-16T02:15:54Z

This is so flippin' cute!!! I really liked the gameplay, I wasn't expecting a sort of vertical gravity platformeer but I really liked it! The music was cute, the graphics were cute, it was nice that death wasn't the end and I really liked the level timer in the form of clouds creeping up the screen. Also, Reaper Boy is just an adorable name and so very merchable.

Love the pixel art on the title screen and I enjoy the graphics overall. I found the controls a little difficult, I didn't read the instructions on this page that specified how to aim the weed killer knife so I died the first time not realizing I could change directions. I was playing on keyboard and found it difficult to switch between moving and aiming. I think it would have been easier if the direction I moved it was also where I was aiming and I only had to focus on moving and killing weeds. Overall though I really liked it!

Galaxy Adventure, An Adventure In Spaaaaaace! by Cody Foster 2018-08-25T04:10:23Z

I couldn't really figure out how to play this. But I really didn't care cause I really dug the background music. 10/10 just want to jam to that.

Waste in Space by ProWolf 2018-08-25T04:04:06Z

I got pretty lucky with the box spawning pretty close to the portal the first couple times. I liked the graphics, I really enjoyed the background music, it fit really well and I liked that it changed once or twice. I liked how challenging it was to get the box to the portal, I kept replaying it after losing a couple times because I got really close and ran out of time. Really nice overall.

Out of all the games I've played so far, I definitely spent the most time on this one (in a good way!) The music is so fanciful and delightful and just carefree even as the screen is piling up with orders. I appreciate the in game instructions, I just wish I had read that I could dismiss orders by right clicking them! I definitely played the first couple times dismissing no orders and and getting a little frustrated that some items were never showing up on screen. Overall, I really liked this!

Man, some kind of sound effect as you destroyed the junk apps would have been so satisfying! It looked like the screen UI was done like with free hand drawing and I thought it gave the screen a nice look. I also liked the "booting..." beginning screen. It's not the most engaging kind of game play (especially on pc) and probably my least favorite kind but it looks like it would make a cute little time waster as an actual phone app.

House of Dog by Pizzasgood 2018-08-16T01:49:17Z

I definitely didn't understand at first why I couldn't build as many brick walls as possible until I noticed that the number of bricks in the top left was decreasing as I added walls. I didn't understand how I was generating bricks either, whether that was a timed thing or maybe the little furnace looking thing was creating bricks for me. I thought the title card at the beginning of the game was adorable and I liked the overall idea of the game.

Forest Fighter by Drowzy Unicorn 2018-08-25T03:44:16Z

Awesome graphics but more of an attack animation and like others have said adding some sort of hit action would have been really helpful. I couldn't figure out how to get a good hit on any of the mutant trees and kept dying.

Oh, sh*t! — Ludum Dare #42 — Running out of space by xPheRe 2018-08-16T02:07:45Z

I think it would have been nice to include a title screen or maybe even a brief instruction screen. This is the third or fourth game I've played that didn't include instructions in game and I apparently skim over this information page that folks are putting the instructions on. Aside from that, yay tetris! I enjoyed the gameplay though it didn't seem like there was a lose scenario? I got to a point where I couldn't fit a piece anywhere and I couldn't pick up another piece and so I didn't really know what to do at that point. I also really didn't care for the sound effects, they were a little grating.
