LD42 — Running out of space

What's in the crates ?! by LooksLikeSomething 2018-09-01T23:29:07Z

This is a pretty cute game, with good music and a nice, hand-drawn art style that definitely has some appeal. To be honest, I was a little confused by some things: What did the orange towns mean? Where were the additional boxes coming from (i.e. when do I get more, and how many?) And what is the real limit on the number of boxes or the amount of money I can lose? Because I ended up with over 100 boxes, and with negative money, but neither of those caused a lose-condition.

Parking Spaces by Imphenzia 2018-09-02T01:03:29Z

Cool game! Definitely an idea I haven't seen yet before, and very well executed. I haven't tried your improved version, but the trailer makes it look awesome!

Very Original Puzzle Game by Devastus 2018-09-02T01:09:20Z

Nicely done! Everything felt smooth and well executed. Obviously the idea is not super innovative, but you acknowledged and embraced that in the name so no points off from me! I've worked with Godot previously as well, actually, and I have since moved on to Unity. I suggest trying it out, if you haven't already. The documentation is much much better, as you'd probably expect.

Boxcorp Employee Training by boaheck-artgent 2018-09-02T02:53:09Z

Very creative in terms of 3D box stacking and narrated instructions. The art was interesting as well. I found the first level too difficult to complete, even after two long tries and a seemingly full room, so a restart or reset button might be nice. Regardless, though, it is a cool result for a 72 hour game jam.

Plug And Shoot by Hagge 2018-09-02T22:10:03Z

Cool concept! This takes the idea of games like plants vs. zombies and applies it to the running-out-space theme. More importantly, though, it was well executed. Nice graphics, fitting music, (seemingly) clean code. Nice work!

We Are Millions by Blizary 2018-08-14T21:16:15Z

This is a really fun, arcade-y game! The art is pretty stylish, especially the opening scene with the two planets and animated space background. The music is also very chill, and makes the game even more relaxing to play. I liked the abilities that you made so far, and I can tell you have some more cool ones lined up. Good luck with future updates!

Pre Alpha Build by PlusMinus 2018-08-18T03:19:24Z

This is really well made. Good idea for the theme, well executed, awesome animations. I only had two complaints: you can't place the same thing twice without clicking on the purchase menu again; and some of the sound effects were too loud. Other than that, super awesome!

Get out of my space! by Yuri Simoes Arce 2018-09-02T01:15:06Z

Very cute game! I think the art was my favorite part. The music was fitting as well. Even though you couldn't get to other difficulties, I think what you have is polished and unique, so nice work! Wish I could see where you would have gone with it next.

Carter's Crates by Diego Escalante 2018-08-17T03:42:29Z

This game is great! Very good idea, perfect for the theme, good art and appropriate sfx, no apparent bugs, and a working leaderboard! Props to you.

CubiCo by Dominic 2018-08-15T21:32:25Z

@mza Thanks for playing! We have a number of planned improvements and additional features lined up already, so there is no particular area that we are looking for feedback in, but any and all suggestions are welcome!

Space Intruder by LoneHearts 2018-08-18T03:02:22Z

Pretty fun! Definitely applied the theme well to a top down shooter. The music was kind of nice. Good sound effects and art. The bomb animation I especially liked. Nice work!

Poisoned Palace by jordantanner 2018-09-01T23:20:00Z

I enjoyed this game a lot! Right off the bat, falling down the waterfall of poison felt very cool. The music and art were both well done, well themed, and engaging. The enemies were designed well. The abilities all felt useful and still balanced. Great job!

Augmented Shopping Rush by AwesomestKat 2018-08-18T03:09:07Z

Pretty cool game! I like the backstory, and you definitely set up the mood with the start screen and shopping music. Good work.

Plag by OiledOwl 2018-08-29T01:17:52Z

This was a pretty cool idea, and I liked the art style. There were a few things I think you could definitely improve on: Having to go all the way back to level 0 after failing a level just seemed to make things more frustrating and tedious. The game also seemed to run very slowly, but maybe that was intentional. And I think this game could definitely use music, but obviously if you don't have the time or manpower, you do what you can without it.

Smart Gecko by Zariel 2018-08-14T22:25:49Z

Good concept. The animations make it feel responsive, which is good, but sometimes you can skip a tile by tapping fast enough. I would also recommend a restart button, and making the "you died" sound not quite as loud. Other than those notes, I liked it!

ChromeSmasher by Mexzter 2018-08-15T23:03:57Z

Nice and simple. I like the idea, and the art design as well. The music is a little repetitive and doesn't loop very well though.

Synthætica by ixchow 2020-10-05T16:48:41Z

Really enjoyed this!

I second the comments about the camera, though perhaps a solution that doesn't require freedom of camera movement is to kill the player if they go outside the camera bounds.
