LD39 — Running out of Power

The Road To Power by tinykidtoo 2017-08-01T19:28:02Z

@jackyjjc Looks like I made a typo in one of the flag checks that made that ending inaccessible. It's fixed now.

@vlad-chechyotkin If the web build isn't working, try disabling ad block if you're running it or a different browser. If all else fails, you can download the standalone builds, at least on Windows.

@joemag Well, all games are just clicking randomly when you get down to it, aren't they? In all honestly though, I was never a big fan of "stats manager" style gameplay. The game is supposed to be in the style of choose-your-own-adventure books and visual novels rather than something more "gamey", and it doesn't work for you because of that it's completely understandable.

@prettylucky There's three endings where you stay in power. In order to get any of them, you need to not get assassinated and you need to resolve the food shortages.

A Call for Power by Random Wizard 2017-08-01T19:54:04Z

Really love the art in this game! The mechanics themselves could be a little more intuitive though. I only figured out where to go trying to dodge the leaves.

Orbiting Home by Zeknir 2017-08-01T20:07:38Z

This game is a ton of fun! Wish there was a minimap or at least a better way to measure distance to a planet and to see my trajectory, had more than a few collisions with planets because they snuck up on me before I could do maneuvers. Glad to hear that you might keep working on it, there's a lot of great stuff to build on here.

Mower Storms by dracominer 2017-08-01T22:00:06Z

As a lover of both turned based strategy games and chess , there's a lot of ideas in this game I like. However, the AI isn't great, which hampers the experience quite a bit. I understand that it's really hard to make good AI in general, especially in this timeframe, but it almost seemed like the AI was just making random moves. I pretty quickly found that moving tanks forward with ranged behind works pretty well, and the AI was completely unresponsive to the tactic. Still, pretty fun and funny.

Robot Kernel PaniK by Le Slo 2017-08-02T20:39:11Z

Seems pretty deep, but very difficult! I managed to charge some of the robots and get some crops but couldn't figure out what to do after that. Really enjoyed the robot's little quips when selected, and the graphics were very good too.

Ultimate Fusion by Thirrash 2017-08-02T18:14:03Z

Pretty fun. Spent my time trying to get the heaviest elements possible, got to chromium before I lost. Camera angle is a bit of a problem though, makes it hard to keep track of everything that's going on.

Times New Robots by Alex Tantum 2017-08-02T18:20:32Z

Nice blend of tower defense and FPS mechanics, with very good art and music. Didn't feel like my gun did very much though, didn't even seem like I could kill the robots with it? Still, with a bit more polishing this could become a very fun game!

Greed by Jake Cope 2017-08-01T19:40:57Z

That was a fun. Got to the point where I couldn't click upgrades fast enough to stop my money from capping out towards the end. Wish there would've been a bit more towards the end once I had upgraded all my converters to max and was just waiting for all the power to be drained, though.

Giuseppe's Kidnapping by VEGACIDE 2017-08-02T20:51:46Z

This game is really great. The levels were well designed, challenging but not frustrating, the music was great and really added to the tone, and the window fading effect was awesome. Definitely one of the best games I've played so far.

The Visible City by Colestia 2017-08-02T04:58:51Z

This is a really cool interpretation of the theme. Really like the map fading mechanic, and the stylized art. The difficulty seems a little bit high though. My police squadron was totally unable to stop all the revolutionaries. Overall, a really good entry!

Cargo Rats by entirelyBees 2020-04-21T02:05:57Z

Very beautiful game!

Wish that the other rats would follow me better though. They run into the water like lemmings!

Laser Evaders by Charlez245 2020-04-21T16:00:07Z

Really great concept, very enjoyable puzzle game.

The camera controls are a little cumbersome at times but other than that I really enjoyed it.

Chaincards by Federico Giorgi 2020-04-21T02:33:00Z

Whenever I hit start I just get an empty Unity level...

A Bard's Party (Keep it alive) by Takayamushi 2020-04-21T03:03:56Z

Really fun!

I think it would work better if the directional notes used the keyboard to indicate direction though, I had trouble moving the mouse quick enough.
