Nice game it's like timberborn but with frogs !!! the music is really catchy and the gameplay is interesting revolving around your buildings and the paths you make for the frogs

A really cool pixel game with construction mechanics.
super cutee, love the idea, quite unique imo :D
The game is fun but certainly not easy. I don't think frogs should depend on me for the organization. My skills might be even worse than theirs. It takes a bit of trial and error to figure out how the paths work. I appreciate the tutorials. It would have been significantly harder without them.
Wow, this is a tough game. It's so hard to wrap your head around the mechanics, daily cycle, and recipes all at once. I've never played Factorio, but I imagine fans of it would salivate over this game. I just have 2 recommendations:
β A pause button in the game's easy mode, to let the player cheese the frog paths. Rn I can't tell what the difference is between easy and normal mode. Only concern is that it could totally change the gameplay style.
β I'd also recommend letting the player pan the map around by using the right mouse button. Right now everything except navigation can be done via the mouse. Might as well go full mouse-only when possible.
Hey @maakole thanks for the feedback! In easy mode, the goal is to craft and deliver bread to the target goal where in normal mode, the goal is to craft and deliver a tank to the target goal. The tank is a few more crafting tiers deeper than bread so it is significantly more challenging. Thanks for playing!
Hey @maakole , easy mode changes the end objective from crafting the tank, to crafting bread, which is a much less complex process. Non-WASD camera movement is definitely something we could have used but just ran out of time. Thanks for playing!
Congrats on finishing a good implementation of a looping path automation game! The banjo, harmonica, drums song is fun and fitting. Given more time, I have a few suggestions:
- Having an indicator for how long the day night cycle will last would be good for player feedback. - The frogs seemed to not always turn right in a 2-tile wide road, so I figured using donuts is safer for understanding the pathing I build. - Adding a downward pointing, bouncing arrow under each home would be nice until I build the missing road.
Nice job at scoping the tutorials smaller than the full game, so that I could understand a fewer buildings and resources at a time.
Madethetank.png AAAAAhhhhhh!!!!
Holy cow, I actually built the tank
Very interesting game, very complex game as well. This can easily become a full game. I didn't actually manage to beat it, but I can see its vision! Congrats, pretty awesome game!
The mechanics are very interesting! Iβll try playing again later.
I was reading the recipe diagram and got stuck on the fact that the frogs always turn right. That's a funny little rule to build a whole transport system around. The jump from baking bread to manufacturing a tank is also quite a career move for them.
If you have a moment, I'd appreciate a rating on my latest game, [Robot Workshop](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/60/trashfight).
This game was pretty fun! I liked the building and expansion, though a tutorial in game of what I'm doing (or just some text menu with instructions) would've helped understand stuff.
This was really fun! You managed to squeeze a lot in and I love the artstyle used. Really cool entry!
I really enjoyed the game! 'Frog Factorio' encouraged some interesting decision-making. I plan to play through it a few times to finally reach the end. I'm going to have a lot to do!
Well done for all the stuff you manage to put in it !
I'm not used to the mechanics and the tutorials are welcome !
Wow there's some depth here! I was a bit confused by the flour tutorial, as it just kind of continued day after day. Also, I had placed the mill right next to the receiver tile though, so maybe I missed something? (I think it was getting instantly delivered vs. the frog having to grab it, so maybe preventing the mill from being placed directly next to it would be useful to force path usage?)
It'd be nice, at least for the tutorial for the flour processing to be quicker, as I was just waiting there forever otherwise with nothing to do.
A few more tutorials would help too (some basic ones around pathing and other buildings/chains, etc...), or incrementally unlocking things and some tooltips, as I felt overwhelmed trying to go from tutorial to the easy world map and knowing where I should start and how to get to the objective/going about that.
But this is really neat to see such complexity for a weekend game jam! Great job!
I think I liked it? I'm not really sure, I got the frogs moving and started building along but it was both much more shallow and also much deeper than expected. Overall very cool entry!
Quite different from what I normally play, but I enjoyed it a surprising amount. It would be nice to have more keybinds for things though :^)
I like it, there is a good mix of puzzle and logistics like an early Settlers game. It was really tough though, and a lot of that was some UI issues or potential bugs. Eg the green combiner seemed to always output in the bottom left, and the way the path sprites draw was really confusing for figuring out where frogs would go. I finished the tank in 52 days, not due to money issues, just because I built up components slowly and had to test each one, as they would often break in unexpected ways. The crane is also a really neat component.
Wow, what a great game, and I even play factorio alot but this was kinda hard and complex at first, but there is some real depth here.
I know you tried to do the tutorial as a screenshot but all that information before you've played the game is hard to digest, something in-game would have helped or even breaking up the progression via unlocks so you have a sort of directional flow. I know this adds scope for the jam but these kinds of games need that slow introduction.
The graphics are really great, nice work on these, everything feels like it has consistent art direction and thats rare in a jam.
Nice work!
This is deeeeep. I like this a lot. I will need some serious time to sit and play this.
Such a cool game! πΈπ The idea of frogs with incredible grip strength who can gather resources but have absolutely no idea how to organize them is hilarious. And somehow, we're supposed to help them build a TANK?! I love how creative and chaotic this concept is. The frogs have big dreams, and apparently, we're here to make them happen. π€£ Great job, team! π
Quite fun game. I'm too dumb for it though, almost didn't get past the third flour tutorial :D In the end I did somehow manage to bake the bread on easy mode by micromanaging the frogs. But building that tank? That's a nightmare mode, not normal!
The music was a bit glitchy on my browser. Would have liked sound effects too. There were also some bugs, for instance I deleted the deposit at one point (!) and sometimes the frogs would run through a well (after somehow building a road on top of it).
@exigo you found some crazy bugs that we're not able to replicate, something had to go really wrong to get a well on top of a road, and we do actually have sound effects in the game although it sounds like you were having general audio issues (deleting the deposit is real though whoops). What browser and OS were you using?
:) Very cool! Nice systems here! I love all the pixels. And the music is delightful. Some very cool level/puzzle design too. A bit tricky at times, but This was fun to play!
